Small pieces of wood in my sandwich. How is that possible? I asked for no wood. Quality control issues here.

Pretty disappointed here. The food was just ok. We had a French dip that was seriously under-portioned and a bit overpriced. No salads or accompaniments that were appealing. Atmosphere is really odd… sort of bland and utilitarian. Not truly terrible, just not worth a repeat.

We sat on the patio with our dogs. The sandwiches and clam chowder were delicious. Friendly service. We’ll definitely be back!

This place is a gem. FRESH food. So good. You go up to the counter and order and they bring it to your table. As a GLUTENFREE person, it’s not easy eating in Cambria. I ordered a turkey club with the works on lettuce. I figured they’d put the meat on some lettuce and it would be a salad. But instead they used lettuce leaves like bread, and I got to have a club sandwich, with mayo and mustard and fixings. I almost felt normal! :) my husband and son loved their regular-person sandwiches on fresh sliced bread, too. Go here for inexpensive deliciousness. And if you’re gluten free ask for a lettuce sandwich. It was perfect. Also? Very good service.

Stopped here after visiting 927 Beer Co. just down the street. Unilocal was super handy dandy while I was here. There was a grill right next to the beer place so I figured we’d just walk into there to eat. But I’m glad Unilocal featured Sandy’s Deli on the ‘Nearby’ page! I was definitely feeling a sandwich at this point. Also… it was like 2pm and I was super hungry, so… I ordered a veggie burger and the bf ordered a tuna sandwich — I forget what it was called but it had tons of sprouts and avocados in it. I enjoyed my veggie burger! Delicious. Hit the spot. Wish it was a liiiiittle bigger for the price, but it was very good on the quality front. I felt super healthy eating this after a weekend of camping food and other random food things lol. We came here because the sandwiches looked so huge and delicious in the Unilocal photos. I guess some sandwiches are bigger than others. :P Cute little place — loving the home-y feel of all the shops and restaurants in Cambria!

Very good sandwiches and salads. Very flavorful and nicely balanced ingredients. Excellent for the price compared to other places in town.

Stopped on the way to big sur with my family. I got a turkey club and my wife got a turkey cranberry. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere is cozy beach vibe and the food was spectacular. Definitely worth the stop for a sandwich or pastry. You won’t be leaving hungry. Also the chefs are super nice.

This place is amazing! We had the tuna sandy, godfather, double chocolate brownie and the great 8 juice. All of it was phenomenal.

As you enter the main drag of the small town of Cambria you will notice quite a few restaurants that to me kind of looked like tourist traps. So I pulled out my trusty Unilocal app to find this little local grub hub. When on a road trip you will find yourself devouring all kinds of processed foods and living off beef jerky and chips. So stopping here was a nice break from everything. Sandwiches here come piled high and taste super fresh. If you are in the area and cant decide on where to eat just give this place a try. Just a all around classic sandwich. My wife got the Turkey & Avocado and I went with a Pork Torta. Both were stacked super high and were fantastic. The torta was super messy and dripping with pork goodness. I snagged a bit of my wife’s turkey and it was great as well. Just a classic turkey sandwich with some good bread. Not sure about the service complaints here mine was your run of the mill walk up and order and walk away. Nothing bad happened and no one was rude. Prices were decent for what you would consider a tourist town but you can take half your sandwich with you for later cause the portions are pretty generous. CHEERS!

Outstanding sandwiches! Fresh ingredients! Better than a restaurant! How could a deli sandwich be this good? The BLT is perfect.

The food is outstanding but the cashier isn’t pleasant and surely will ruin your experience. After a semi-annoying experience with the cashier for lunch on a Saturday, my husband and I returned on Sunday for the fresh juices and smoothies. He waited in the car and I ordered. I asked for the carrot, Apple and ginger juice for him with an apricot scone. After paying and waiting for my order she told me they were out of ginger. The ginger was the only thing my husband really wanted to try so feeling bad, I said that was okay and updated my scone order to a ginger scone, which they have on display with a sign next to it saying“ginger scone”. She looked annoyed and repeated herself. «We are out of ginger so we don’t have any ginger scones either.» Well how about updating your menu items which are written in chalk to reflect what you have! The woman behind me in line had a similar conversation as well. I’m totally fine with flexing to new menu items when there was a small mistake but seeing this repeatedly happen in the same order and with the woman behind me having the same thing happen, all delivering from a rude and impatient girl is not a fun experience. Overall, the food is amazing, the cashier girl is not.

My pal and I were looking forward to going to here because we love a good sando and heard this place was alright. It was just before 4pm on a Sunday and we walked in excited to see the pastry case and other delicious treats + the good looking menu. Two seconds later we were rudely told«Um, we’re actually closed!» How about«I’m sorry, we’re just closing but can I get you something from the pastry case instead?» Possibly a smile? But, no. So, instead we walked out, walked across the street and got a great chicken sandwich from Main Street Grill. But, thanks for the parking, Sandy’s! It was prime!

A gem in Cambria. Cambria is flooded with restaurants and Sandy’s is a welcome breath of fresh air when all I want is a simple sandwich and a soda. Sandy’s offers hot and cold sandwiches, chips, gelato, and pastries. There is a cute outside sitting area and lots of tables inside the store. I ordered a Turkey bacon cheddar melted onto a perfectly toasted croissant. Huge and Delicious! Greatly recommend if you’re around the area and looking for a deli!

YUM! YUM! and YUM! We went here twice in the 48 hours that we were in the area. The veggie sandwich was so huge, that the part that fell out while I ate it, I ate as a side salad. The only thing that would have made it better would be if they topped it with either a hummus or a dijon/flavorful mustard. We also got smoothies and juices there and everything was amazing. This will be my go to place whenever I visit San Simeon.

My first experience here. But not my last. I was looking for a perfect place to bring my Lilly pup, sit peacefully in the sunshine, mellow out, and have semi healthful food. Cambria has many eateries, some classy, some not, but this little deli was exactly what I needed. I am glad I came. On my menu for the day, a Big Sur Tuna sandwich. Not cheap, but I made it last two days. It was engorged with tuna salad made with mayo and chopped celery, a really good one. Then they piled on all the other goodies: red onion, avocado, seeds, tomato, shredded carrot, alfalfa sprouts. And I even loved the fresh, whole wheat bread. It was a real treat. But then, I would kill for a good tuna salad sandwich anyway. This one made it to the top of my list! The problem, I needed a fork to attack it, it was far too thick to get my mouth around, and besides, all the goodies came tumbling out. Such a problem. I rarely indulge, but this time around, the fresh juiced carrot/apple/ginger drink caught my eye. They made a huge cupful for me, and it was right on. Glad I got it. Love that they are dog friendly. Love that they have both indoor and outdoor tables. Love that it is roomy, attractive in a cutesy sort of way, and quite clean. All positives, a welcoming place to eat, a nice selection on the menu, and even though I did not need an after-meal sweet treat, they sure have a decent glass case of tempting morsels. Sigh. You pick up your order at the counter, bus your own trash. And leave with a contented look on your face(I hope). I know I did.

The sandwiches here HITTHESPOT! Big Sur Tuna is definitely one of the best tuna sandwiches I’ve ever tasted. It goes so well with avocado! Plenty of filling, it was oozing out each time I took a bite. Husband also enjoyed his Godfather sandwich. You better have an appetite to finish the whole thing.

This was the perfect find for us! The space is bigger than you would expect. Plenty of seating. Menu is fairly diverse, sandwiches, smoothies, salads, burgers plus a small selection of desserts(guess that’s why it is a bakery). Order at a counter and sit down. Perfect for a family looking for a good, quick, cheap meal. The sandwiches were great too. I’m hesitant to give 5 stars, because I’ve had even better believe it or not. But these were up there. Tons of fresh veggies. Great bread. Nice balance of ingredients. I ordered the tuna salad, husband had the veggie burger. Ordered a ham and cheese with lettuce for my son who couldn’t finish it. We probably shouldn’t have eaten all of our sandwiches either as they were quite large. Very pleased with our lunch.

I wish there was something negative to say about this establishment so my review can be more well rounded but I could not find anything to say. There was both indoor/outdoor seating which was spotless. The menu can be easily read. The prices are good in comparison with the quality/quantity. The service was fast and the guys were friendly. The sandwhich was jam packed and flavorfull. It had to be shared, no way I coulda finished it myself. I will definately go back. I stayed origional and got the turkey club. Which was the best I have ever had. Bottom line– fast, affordable, napkins utencils readily available, you get exactly what you pay for.

I have had my share of sandwiches, and the Italian I had here was good. Not great, and nothing to come back for but it was decent. That being said the rest of our party of 7 all just had«okay» sandwiches and no one mentioned the meal after we left… not usually a great sign. The employee working the register was awful. Unhelpful, and rude. He looked like that grumpy cat on the Internet. He glared at me when I asked where the bathroom was(grab the obscenely giant key holder, and key, go outside around the back… the hell is this? A gas station!?). Maybe he was having a bad day, or maybe he’s always like that. Who cares. I won’t ever go here again, so… whatever. The inside is bleak and quiet as all get out. One person talking can be heard in the entire place. Play some music or something. I don’t know. Maybe I just had a bad experience, but I would not recommend anyone going here. There are so many other options in Cambria, not sure why this should be one of them.
