Great burgers and good beer selection. I’ll definitely be coming back, though please note that they no longer have darts here! Bummer.

It’s a pub. Good place to have a beer after work. Ok place to watch a game. Food is typical pub food, nothing special.

Neighborhood bar with no pretensions. Despite the speakeasy-inspired name, the cocktail/spirits list is very weak. Like anywhere around here, plenty of good beer options. Historically, the food has been… fine. You know, three stars. But I’m adding another because they have a new chef, and she’s amazing. Definitely order anything off of the specials list — and hopefully soon those will work their way into the regular menu.

I love Joe Sent Me! It’s become a weekly hang-out for me, usually going in on the weekend to have brunch and/or some good pub food and a few beers. I always sit at the bar and the bartenders have always been friendly and attentive. They have a few TVs behind the bar, as well as scattered throughout the seating area, so you can always catch a Red Sox/Patriots/Bruins/or Celtics game on the TV. Michelle does an excellent job cooking on weekends(I’m sure she’s there during the week too). I haven’t yet tried everything on the menu, but I recommend the grilled shrimp, any of the burgers, and the brunch choices. I see in some of the reviews that people have had different experiences going during the week, especially during trivia night. I’ve only been to trivia night once, and it’s true that it gets crowded and a bit noisy. But you’ll find that at almost any bar on a trivia night. I *have* noticed, though, that there is no hosting to help with seating and some of the waitresses I’ve seen there have been less than helpful in terms of seating people or taking orders expeditiously. Overall, I would recommend this bar/restaurant to anyone who’s looking for a reasonable place to eat with a good selection of beers and drinks. Go on the weekends when it’s a lot less crowded and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed! And be sure to say«Hi» to Heather or Billy behind the bar, and give a shoutout to Michelle for her excellent food!

Try the chicken fish and salads Great servers and bartenders. I always feel at home. I always come back for the drinks they will make by request and the spicy Cajun style appetizers. I’ve been in East Arlington for 10 years and this is my favorite place around West Medford, West Somerville, North Cambridge, and Belmont. I enjoyed the Waltham location it’s fun! Try their imported Bottles English German everywhere! Sports Sports Sports

Pretty typical if you’re looking for some bar food and a few beers. Came in with my cousin and her friend to play trivia and looking for some grub. My cousin got the veggie burger, which really should have been promoted as a black bean burger. While I know black bean tends to be a common ingredient in veggie burgers, there really wasn’t any other veggie in this one. To say the least, she wasn’t a fan and barely ate it. I opted into the blackened blue burger, which was fair. To be honest, I hadn’t eaten all day so I was more interested in eating SOMETHING. I have had better burgers, but in the moment it was satisfying. The fries were definitely homemade and pretty delicious. Our waitress wasn’t the most attentive and didn’t bring our waters until we had to remind her again, half way through. The trivia was pretty typical, we unfortunately didn’t win. I can’t imagine many people know which president was the first born after the Declaration of Independence was signed, and then was president around 1831(I think.)

Food: 2 stars Service: 3 stars Came here on a Saturday night. A friend won a raffle where we got unlimited free apps(to the chef’s discretion on which apps) which brought about 10 – 15 people there to enjoy the free apps and pay for our own beer. They have about 5 – 8 decent beers on tap. They were very accommodating of our large group, helping us move tables. However, they promised apps at 7pm and brought them out at 7:40pm. We had 2 types of buffalo chicken pizza, wings, fried pickles, and chips and salsa. Everything basically tasted like frozen food. Would come here again for free apps, but not if I was paying for anything more than beer.

Joe’s is OKAY. I tried it once for lunch because the name tickled me(it doesn’t take much) and again for dinner on a date. The first time I had a burger and the second time I tried the enchiladas(their special that night). Food was fine, service was fine, but nothing really stood out or made me think«Definitely coming back for THIS!» It was pretty loud in there due to their Trivia Night, but not unreasonably so; my bad for not checking their event calendar. Might still try their brunch someday just to try their full menu, it just wasn’t particularly memorable.

Really solid food! I have only gone for Brunch but it was a great experience. I had the kimchi burger but with chicken subbed in and it was incredible. I’ve been craving it ever since! The make your own Bloody Mary bar is cool but I’m fairly inexperienced so I’d recommend taking your own look at it.

Service here is always ok. Apparently trivia night is popular as the crowd grew and the server became too busy to fill drinks or make sure our meal was ok. I’ve had wings burgers fish pulled pork and a shrimp appetizer which all tasted well. Tonight I had steak tips and shrimp. The tips were cooked medium well as requested. The 3 shrimp were grilled nicely although I requested fried shrimp. I didn’t trip since it was only 3 shrimp. The fries were good but I think most of mine were bottom of the bag crumbs. The strawberry and lemonade margarita was good and served in a pint glass. My friend had the north ender burger and enjoyed it but prefers Christopher’s down the street. This place is too close to not come back plus the food isn’t awful but it’s reasonably priced. I look forward to brunch soon.

Great food. Couldn’t decide between the turkey or the steak tips so went with the combo with rice. Both were excellent but I could’ve eaten the turkey tips all night. Great ambiance and drinks at a reasonable price, too. Definitely recommend.

One of the worst places I have ever been for a trivia night. First, you walk into a very tiny bar area, there is not a single hostess or waitress to ask you how many you have in your party you basically have to run over people to get to a table once one is open. I went this past Wednesday night with a group of 3 friends and my boyfriend. When we arrived the place was PACKED at 7:45. Again, not one person asked us if we wanted to sit, wanted drinks, etc. When a group of four left we had to literally race to the bar top area facing the windows in the back of the restaurant where they were seated. But, the worst was yet to come. I have worked as a bartender and server for over 6 years. I am beyond respectful and usually even if the service is shitty I will tip 15−20% because I know what its like to have a bad night. Once we sat down it took our waitress over 20 minutes to come over. We were all thirsty/hungry so we were anxious to order. We were faced with a woman who had no personality and could have cared less about our food/drink orders. I got a strawberry lemonade margarita and it was delicious! Sugar rim, garnished with a lime in a large pint glass with a mild pink color. Once our food arrived after 45 minutes(we had fries a burger, and lettuce wraps) I asked for another strawberry lemonade margarita. When the waitress brought it I thought she was kidding. It showed up in a large margarita glass, was blood red, rimmed with salt not sugar and had no garnish. I was pretty confused but tried it anyway. It was a straight strawberry margarita which was absolutely awful. When our waitress came over I asked very politely if this was the strawberry lemonade margarita and explained the differences to her. She reluctantly took the drink over to the bar area. When she came back, she had THESAMEEXACTDRINK and told me «it was what I ordered». I again tried to explain it tasted so different and she just shrugged her shoulders. I told her I would not drink it because it was completely filled with an obscene amount of strawberry flavoring and she said thats fine but I would still have to pay for it. I was so upset at that point by her attitude I just wanted to leave. We got the check and her tip reflected her horrible attitude. In 6 years of service I have NEVER, not once, had a customer complain about a drink or anything, and then bring it back and say«too bad it’s just you» I would not recommend this bar. It seems like the staff could care less, and especially on trivia night when there is a huge potential for big checks and to be personable with your tables. I will not be back, and i doubt my group of friends will either.

Joe Sent Me has improved a lot recently — and not just by reopening the sidewalk patio! I have noticed their expanded menu and improved kitchen prep on their«old stand-by» burgers. Pretty great now and they also serve lunch and brunch. I’m glad to live nearby and call it a better than average pub kitchen.

Blah. No personality in the place. Or in the bar staff. Stopped in for a beer and that will be enough. Not a bad place, super blah. And no darts.

Joe Sent Me is a great little spot just east of 16 on Mass Ave. The food is always good, the waitresses and staff pleasant and friendly. It is lacking a certain hipster feel which appeals to me greatly! The inside is clean and not dive-ish, but also not too fancy or modern. I went to trivia one night with maybe 15 friends and it was a blast. A good crowd of people, heckling each other, having a laugh and a drink, just as its meant to be! This is quickly becoming my local first stop watering hole before heading further into the city! Although sometimes I don’t make it past Joe’s!

It looks like a glorified dive bar, but the kitchen is excellent. The bar food has long had a really good reputation, but it has gotten even better… even stellar. Joe Sent Me now has the most outrageous, wonderful, yet reasonably priced brunch in Greater Boston(10:30−2:30 Saturday and Sunday). They hired Michelle, a former chef from Tryst in Arlington, and she is doing miraculous things with eggs and other breakfast fare.

Not a better, more authentic neighborhood bar in all of Cambridge. Their food is well above average, ambience is calm and relaxed, good music and friendly staff. I’ve lived in the area for 2 years and can’t ask for a better bar next door. I highly recommend their salads, burgers and wraps. More importantly, joe sent me is always consistent in every way and that’s what you want in a bar. One of my fav hole in the wall places in all of Cambridge.

We’ve been living in Cambridge for a while. I remember when this place opened. Our firdt attempt to go here made us turn around. A few table set ups and what looked like a bro bar. Fast forward to a few weeks ago. Went here with a couple of friends to avoid th Davis Square crowds. Went in and sat at the bar. Good mixed drinks, fun music, and sports on the TV’s, can’t go wrong with that mix. Went back with a bigger group last night and enjoyed some good dishes. I think this will become our go to chill out bar. Never over crowded, decent prices, and good bar food.

For whatever reason, I expected Joe Sent Me to be like a TGI Fridays on the inside — I was pleasantly surprised to find that the space is low key with a nice long bar and a smattering of tables.(Not a Guy Fieri in sight.) We’ve been trivia hopping for the past few months and I think we’ve found a home at Joe Sent Me. They serve up a pretty competitive Geeks Who Drink trivia on Wednesday evenings. I like the number of teams — I like the Geeks Who Drink format and the space is pretty decent, so all in all not too shabby. The food is OK. Burgers are pretty standard(though one week my friend ordered a turkey burger, which was cooked to «hockey puck» doneness). The regular fries are soggy and sad — but the sweet potato and the Cajun fries are pretty good. The beer selection is decent — though we sold them out of High Life a couple weeks ago and it seems that they have not yet replenished their stock. For 8PM trivia Wednesday, the place does get pretty packed around 7:30 or so — so if you’re looking for a table come on the earlier side.

Joe’s take on the prohibition theme is pure camp, but it’s not the only restaurant in its vicinity where the inside is decorated to look like you are outside. In general, it is a fun neighborhood bar. It caters to an older, more local crowd than that of Davis Square proper, so it makes for a nice break from the yuppie hipster vibes emanating from just a quarter mile away. They also serve excellent pub food. It is down to earth, satisfying and inexpensive. I especially like their burgers. They have a wide selection, and are as good if not better than some burger restaurants in town. They also have a bunch of tropical drinks served in fish bowls. These are tasty and strong, but served responsibly. The menu stipulates that you can only purchase one for sharing, and one pair can order no more than two a night. The servers are friendly though not always on top of things. The clientele seems to be really outgoing too. The last couple times my barmates and I have been there, we’ve gotten into some pretty interesting conversations with random drunk couples.
