Mass Chicken

So far I tried the beef burger & chicken kabob which they tasted very good in my opinion, although they need to look at how the restaurant is organized, they can make it better

I’m disappointed to see so many bad reviews from people ordering the same items as other one star leavers… but I digress.
I went here with friends from the recommendation of one. Oh how my eyes filled with delight from the coziness, the option of chicken wings (one of my weaknesses), and the baller prices. That being said of the prices I wasn’t expecting to be as blown away as I was. The fries are so dope, the recommender of our group is incredibly fond of the steak and cheese fries so I have to try those once I step away from the chicken wings. The wings were well cooked but only moderately seasoned in my opinion, but the fries took the show. Burgers seemed decent in size, but nothing to write home about. Did I mention the fries?
I was satisfied with the cleanliness, it wasn’t spotless but I felt as if food items themselves were not dangerous. I recommend handling condiment bottles with napkins though, but that is user error more than owner problems.
It sounded like the owners were arguing at one point, which caused some discomfort among the party but it was after midnight and not everyone is a night owl, so I remain open-​minded/​optimistic.
Four stars since the place wasn’t super stellar, but definitely on my list of places to return to. Also more than three stars for the fries. FRIESSSSSSS

I disagree with a lot of the negative reviews here. I went in with low expectations but find some of the best chicken I’ve eaten for under $ 20 in all of Boston here. I strongly recommend the cheese steak fries and sultani chicken. I cant speak to the more generic items such as the veggie burger or whatnot but I enjoyed my meal here and will be coming back.

Rather amazed with the negative reviews. I’ve been coming here for lunch once a month for the last 12… never observing anything unappetizing. I always order chicken shawarma — swiftly prepared in under 5 min. Always fresh & tasty & if you’re on the move wrapped in foil to prevent leaks. Don’t know about dinner, late night, or delivery. But, if you’re looking for a fast economical lunch, this place has it.

I’d like for everyone on Unilocal for saving me from any problems at this place. i went in for lunch and ordered a cheeseburger with feies and being skeptical because the place was extremely filthy I went to check the reviews. Even though I paid for my food, the 8 dollars I spent ended up being for preventative measures. Thanks everyone!

I have never given a one star review before of anything. The fried chicken wasn’t particularly good, maybe 2– or 3-​star in taste, but the violent, uncontrollable vomiting my friends and I experienced after eating the chicken is unforgivable. NEVER AGAIN.

I’m quite confused by all of the bad ratings — this place is DELICIOUS! Yes, it is a tiny place so don’t expect a whole lot of atmosphere but the food is so so good, especially after hitting up the bars in the area.

I saw a mouse running around in their kitchen while I was waiting for my food! I used to find the food okay, but I won’t go anymore…

We ordered delivery and it came quickly, I’ll give them that. That was the only good thing.
Hubby said his grilled veggie sandwich was generic but fine… up until he found a piece of chicken in it. In his vegetarian sandwich.
For me the fries were bland and the fried chicken was awful. The food was cheap so I wasn’t expecting a ton but I was expecting edible. This wasn’t. The chicken was slimy underneath the terrible coating. I threw my dinner out and I hate wasting food.
Never again.

Looks like I’m not the only one who found hair in their food. I found 2 pieces of hair in one dish of food.
The felafel was not fresh. Other than the hair, the salad was fresh and the hummus was decent. I can easily say I will not be coming here again, and it’s unfortunate since I have been looking for good Halal places since moving to Cambridge.

The chicken shawarma wrap is amazing! Wrapped with a pita makes for the best drunk food. Especially since they are open until 3am on Saturday nights! Small family style restaurant with friendly staff. The live music from the Cantab resonates through the walls making for a fun quick meal. Deff not a first date destination, but a good spot after the bar.

My luck has run out. I’m the person who usually doesn’t have any complaints about my food. Given all the complaints of my dining partners I could call it luck or low standards. I typically get what I ordered, cooked how I ordered it. My food comes in a reasonable amount of time, etc. Basically I’m a chef’s best friend because I’m the person who doesn’t send food back. Today I am the chef’s enemy. If I could send this burger back I would and with it would be a heap of insults. I like my food simple so I ordered a steak and cheese burger with mustard and ketchup. I ended up with that plus lettuce, pickles, onions, and my least favorite hair! Given that the hair was sticking out from between the steak and the burger patty I am certain it is not my hair! Absolutely disgusting! I will never eat anything from here again and I don’t recommend that anyone else does.

3.5÷5 rounded up because they deliver till pretty late for only for $ 3 and they give you discounts for bigger orders.
This small place is located about 15min walk away from Harvard Sq. Their prices in the restaurant pictures have changed thus look at the paper menu for accurate prices. I ordered the Kubdieh Beef and Chicken and 6 Baklava. Both the beef and chicken were well marinated and came with decent portions of rice and salad. All in all you get what you pay for. The baklava was is good and for each additional one you order you get a discount. I have also ordered delivery from this place and thet are very timely when they tell you what time they will arrive! This place is pretty darn disgusting. I went in here because I was craving a chicken shwarma. I was placing my order when i literally saw 5 flies flying around the salad area next to the register. I placed the order anyways, avoiding the salads next to the register— the shwarma was HUGE but the pita bread it was on was rock hard. I think they must have microwaved it because I could barely bite into it. I ate all the contents inside the pita bread and when I went to the register to tell the cook the pita was hard, I found he was outside smoking a hookah –_​– talk about awful customer service. Will not come back here again as it was a complete disappointment.

I went here after having the munchies and got the most bomb lamb/​beef shawarma wrap… first of all, the wrap is HUGE. like really, its massive. We asked the guy to cut it in half and it was basically like we each got our own wraps. But besides that, it was actually just a really delicious wrap — had a nice ass flavor ya feel meh. Also got the mozzarella sticks… no complaints… they were yummy as hell too!
The guy behind the counter was also very sweet. I will say that when we were there, there were like 10 other moronically drunk douchebags sitting near us who did a number of obnoxious things such as throw out a plate in the trash, forget to pay for their food, etc. I feel like the guy who works here has to deal with that on a regular basis. Don’t blame him for being a little annoyed at times.

first time I ever wanted to do ZERO stars!!! The woman and the man are sooooo rude! Omg!!! How are they still in business?!
PLEASE PLEASE DON’T EVER BUY HOOKAH FROM HERE. EVERRRR! Our hookah was so terrible and we had it for 5 mins. And she would NOT give me a refund… she «cleaned» the hookah out and it tasted OK for about 13 more minutes until I gave up trying to smoke.
FYI: Please don’t judge me for going to a place like that for hookah — my roommate picked it. :(

Other Unilocalers have already covered the bad food. It really is as terrible as they say.
What is still missing is the fact that the man and woman running the place are truly terrible people. Rude is one thing. Yelling at paying customers and causing them pain is another.
Their bathroom is for customers only, which is normal. What is not normal is selling a couple a huge two-​person-​sized sandwich, and only letting one person use the bathroom unless the other buys at least $ 5 more worth of food.
Want to eat bad food and be forced out of a bathroom while your boyfriend suffers? This is your place.

I work around the corner so I sometimes stop in to pick up a rotisserie chicken or a beef tongue sandwich. Both are delicious.
While the appearance of the place is nothing special, the chicken is a good price and very tasty. I think they must marinate it in something delicious. This is some kind of hybrid Persian — American restaurant so they have some unusual items such as the beef tongue sandwich. It’s delicious.
This is a good place for folks for genuinely enjoy culinary exploration and cultural diversity. This isn’t some faux-​ethnic Pan-​Asian fusion restuarant opened up by some hipster from San Francisco. This is a restaurant opened by a hard-​working immigrant family and reflects all that is fun and interesting about that, with all its rough edges.
And the chicken is very very good. Flavorful throughout the meat, unlike, for example, a Shaw’s rotisserie chicken.

The hours on Unilocal are wrong! This place is now until 2 or 3am! Score!
And I was shocked to see such a low rating here. I mean obviously I went here at the end of my night (aka I really wanted some fried chicken if you know what I mean) so maybe my review is a little biased by that state I was in, BUT I now know when I am in central and looking for somewhere late at night to grab some food, I know Mass Chicken will have my back.
I got their fried chicken wing plate that came with more wings than I could handle and onion rings for $ 8 and it was made fresh to order. The guy at the counter was so so nice and those chicken wings were fried to perfection. So sooo soooo good. The onion rings were alright too, but the highlight was definitely the chicken, and rightfully so since this place is called Mass Chicken after all.
Plus their menu has all kinds of things on it, so I’m pretty sure almost anyone could be happy here. It isn’t too pricey ($ 10 minimum for cards though) and it is open late and it is that bad for you but taste so good food, so Mass Chicken, I like you.
