I have to say that I like this gallery because of its«oddness», where one can almost feel something(being free?) while browsing through the random things that just happen to be on display. It was an interesting experience and I enjoyed it. Bought from here some t-shirts and art pieces from Kenya.

Central Square is Cambridge’s epicenter of weird. And perhaps that epicenter is located exactly at Out of the Blue Gallery, a once-Blockbuster video that was not at all renovated and turned into a place for artists to sell their goods. From weird paintings to old posters, funky jewelry, and snarky t-shirts, OOTB is a hub for strange art. The dingy carpets and paneled ceilings, straight out of the early nineties, add to the effect. Gentrification wha? Thank you, Cambridge, for allowing OOTB to be. OOTB is also a hub for underground shows in Cambridge(which is great, considering how close it is to Central Square’s T stop). Check the Boston Compass for upcoming shows.

Very interesting display of artistic pieces, ranging from décor to wearable jewelry and clothing. A friend and I had a nice little walk around the gallery prior to a poetry event being held there. I purchased a leather bracelet for $ 5, so prices can be reasonable.

I went to the place for one of their Blue Markers Art Market. The place was very cool. There were artists of all kinds: paintings, craft making, printing, etc. working and displaying works. At the same time, there were musicians coming to play and sing. There was not a lot of people during the afternoon but it got more crowded in the evening. To be honest, it was pretty slow in the first few hours. I went there when I first moved to the city so it was cool to strike some conversations. If there’s another event, don’t come around 3pm, it was very slow. Definitely come around 11pm when people do go out around Central Square.

Recently moved from the Out of the Blue location on Prospect St. Still a really cool gallery with works ranging from paintings, photographs, sculptures, etc. All kinds of art on display! A much larger space, as well. They host a variety of events — there’s currently a craft fair going on for the holidays. On Tuesdays, they host story telling from Story Space from 7p-9:30pm. They host a variety of other events that I haven’t yet been able to check out! Public parking lot behind the building. Right on Mass Ave by Central T!
