Overcharged, asked to stand back in line for refund. Coffee was watery. Wifi didn’t work.

Went to this Starbucks yesterday morning for coffee and a sweet. Ugh, in the case with the food were bugs flying around and landing on the food. I brought it to a staffer’s attention and he acted like this was business as usual.

This review is for the Starbucks inside the Marriott across from the Kendall T stop. Unfortunately for me, this is the closest Starbucks to my office. Sure, I could go to the one down the street, but that one always has a long line and the service there is not much better. My biggest gripe with this place is that they don’t add money to your Starbucks card, and they don’t accept any of the rewards you get on your Starbucks card. This is not indicated anywhere, so a few weeks ago, when I ordered some super fancy drink that I never would have ordered otherwise, I ended up having to pay $ 5.00 for it. Really not cool. Guess I’m going to have to walk that extra 100 ft or something next time.

Tried their latest Oprah Cinammon Chai Latte. What a mouthful, if only one could taste something. Unfortunately it tasted neither like Oprah, Cinnamon, Chai, or even Latte. *sigh*. I now carry my own milk, tea, and cinnamon, among other scrumptious ingredients, and have changed my name to Orpah. Yes, Orpah. P. S. Just discovered Cinnamon is spelt with double ‘n’ and a single ‘m’. *Gobsmacked*. Giving Starbucks more than 1-star for that discovery, they’ve earned it.

It’s a Starbucks, so you’ll get the same quality drinks as at any other location. This one, however, is inside a hotel, which leads to some inconveniences. It’s really small, although there is seating in the Hotel lobby(not sure how much they want people staying there though). The main inconvenience is that they do not honor Starbucks Rewards, so any free drinks you have earned cannot be received here. It’s conveniently located, but I go to the one around the corner if I’m not just picking up a drink on the go.

No salt for my Salted Caramel Mocha. Forced to go to the SB down the street.

Man I wish they would open more mom and pop coffee places like this one. Truly a diamond in the ruff. I travel a good 35 min to get coffee here.

I am a gold card member and did not appreciate the terrible customer service at this location: 1. I was told my gift card balance couldn’t be transferred to my gold card, although I have been offered this service by baristas in the past. Can’t transfer or won’t? 2. The cashier didn’t say more than«no» to me 3. The barista that made the coffee added the soy even though I only asked for it to be put up on the bar, which resulted in a 40% coffee 60% soy milk ratio. The” ice coffee” had 4 ice cubes and was lukewarm. Result? A WARMMILKSHAKE. 4. I would have complained except the milk shake was dropped on the counter and then they all gathered to chat with their backs to me. I will never go to this Starbucks location again, which is a shame since it is the closest one in the Kendall Square work area that I am at.

The service is good but beware. Few small tables so nowhere to get any work done.

Cosy, secluded and tucked into the far corner of the Marriott building, this is an ideal place to disappear for a couple of hours. There are four or five chairs seated along the wide back window for lone coffee-drinkers, and another three tables for groups. Most of the foot traffic here seems to come from the T, and many people don’t hang around once they’ve obtained their caffeine, so you can generally find a space to sit down. I appreciate the attempts to accommodate the mobility-impaired(there is a small elevator for wheelchairs and the like), but this renders the space a little more cramped than necessary. The layout is made even more awkward by the fact that it isn’t immediately clear at which end of the service register one should stand to place an order… and the staff don’t help this awkwardness either. The four or five times I’ve been here, my basic order(«I’ll have a grande soy latte, please. Yes, soy milk, please. Yes, a latte, thanks.») has been received with confusion, and has taken a while to produce, regardless of how many customers were ahead of me. I have had to flag a barista to take my order on more than one occasion, because there was no one –NOONE– behind the register, but at least two staff members in the back room, enjoying a quick chat. To the fairness of the staff, they are very smiley and friendly whenever I have spoken to them, but unfortunately that doesn’t help this caffeine-hungry gal get her hit after a stuffy commute on the T. Pros: large windows, proximity to the T, friendly baristas Cons: awkward space, lack of seating, slow staff.

On the lower end of the Starbucks spectrum. The lay-out is strange, with an awkward carpeted area in one corner with three cramped tables. Despite the huge windows, the area still feels dark, probably because the second floor of the hotel overhangs a good 20 feet onto the street. The wifi is hotel, not Starbucks, and really slow(though still free). So yeah, under-lit, under-wifi’d, and under the Marriott. The saving grace is the employees, who are kind and friendly.

Starbucks in the marriot. Hours not as good as a block away. Doesn’t have the full menu — no heating oven, so you can’t order everything nor can you ask them to heat stuff, im sure you can hold a lighter underneath your items from the people smoking in front of the hotel. Free wifi so that’s great. They accept your starbucks reward card. The other reviewers that talk about the staff… what do you expect it’s not like they went to MIT geezs.

This tiny Starbucks-in-a-hotel does not have the full Starbucks menu. However, you can still give them money in exchange for coffee, so it achieves the bare minimum that needs to be achieved by a Starbucks.

For a Starbucks, it’s spacious, the employees are on par with other Starbucks locations I approve of, and at almost every table there is a nearby socket!(if you like doing work in cafes). Big pro is that the half the walls are windows, so if you happen to be here on a weekend in late September, you may catch the Oktoberfest 5K as you sip your Sunday coffee!

Every time I go in the staff is always friendly. Once or twice there was a goof up in the afternoon but the morning commuters rush is always on point– and if it isn’t they will give you free drink tickets every time. Thanks Starbucks team Cambridge! I will try to stop by even though Starbucks is raising their already high prices. If the company’s big thing is paying for the atmosphere then this location may well be worth the money.

Have been there multiple times, moderately crowded but more spacious than other Starbucks in the area, has good service. I wish they were open later though. And free wi-fi is always convenient :)

Its Starbucks… so… it’s pretty much like the others. Pros: Easy access. Quick service. Cons: No skinny caramel macchiato(ok, ok you may be able to order it but it is not on the menu as it is in the Harvard Square one and many others). Staff that sighs a lot when you order(oh I’m sorry, am I making you work???)

I’m going to throw out some love for my local Starbucks, okay? I realize that it’s more fun to point out the hilarity that this company brings out. All those skinny hipsters in their Buddy Holly specks with their Macbooks and their.faces. But what makes this location awesome is a great staff – I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know several of them, and I gotta say, they’ll take care of people with patience and an obvious care. This is probably why they have so many regulars. Also. Sitting at the bar is the tits.

They won me over. This review is for the Starbucks inside the Marriott Hotel at Kendall Square in Cambridge. I experienced a completely frustrating SNAFU when I tried to order a traveller and miscellaneous other items from this Starbucks ahead of time by phone for a work event. When I arrived to pick up my purchase, there was massive confusion. Once they realized that the person who took my order mysteriously disappeared without mentioning it to anyone else, the four staffers present at this location totally rallied to get the order ready and didn’t make me pay for it. As an added bonus, the utter darling-sweetheart who always remembers me prepared the signature beverage that I usually order for me to enjoy while I waited. Apart from this singular occurence, the staff is normally friendly and pretty efficient. I have a higher percentage chance of receiving my order to spec here than at the other nearby Starbucks(Broadway and Ames). Keep up the good work, Kendall Marriott Starbucks staffers!
