Surroundings

I wish, I wish, I wish, there was a store this wonderful near my home in Virginia. Surroundings has everything one could need or want for your kitchen or bath or for gifts or for home décor or for yourself. The brands they carry are excellent and some are really hard to find. The displays are unique and varied. Everywhere you look there is something new you need to pick up and look at… you have to go in.
Park you spouse or partner outside and go in.
Again, I wish there was something this great near me.

After we had breakfast at Boynton-​McKay I stopped in this store, which has a multitude of goodies for the home. It’s on Main Street, not too far from Maine Gathering. I noticed as I walked through its warren of small rooms that they had Brown Betty teapots. We’d just replaced our 8 cup teapot a couple of weeks before we left and found to our surprise that the tea cozy that had fit all our previous Brown Betties didn’t fit the new one, which seems to have a bit longer spout. So when I saw the Brown Betties I asked the woman behind the counter whether they had cozies. She responded affirmatively and led me to where they were. I explained my concern, that our new teapot seemed just a bit bigger than the others. She resolved that by pulling down a 10 cup teapot and tried a couple of cozies on it. One fit snugly. She showed me the different fabrics it came in, finally pulling out a lovely blueberry print. When I got it home it made our old one look very shabby. I just made a new pot of tea and as I pulled the cozy over the pot I admired it and realized I hadn’t reviewed Surroundings. Nice store, helpful clerk and now I have something that reminds me daily of our trip and of Camden.
