We rented the private home on the property. Dated but clean. Worked well for my family. Traveling with two young children. Gave them space to play and no neighbors to bother. Full kitchen. let us make breakfast at home… very relaxing. Water views. Owner is very hospitable. Would definitely return. Would recommend bringing a hair dryer and an extension cord. Dryer not provided and no plugs close to a mirror.

My husband and I wanted to plan a trip down the coast of Maine to visit multiple breweries and see the local coastal towns we had heard so much about. We chose Camden as our destination due to multiple suggestions from co-workers and friends. Realizing our trip was running behind schedule, we contacted the owners to let them know we would be arriving later than dinner time. They offered to wait up for us until 8:30 or they would leave the key at the door for us. We arrived just as they were leaving and could not have been more hospitable or friendly in welcoming us to Camden and recommending somewhere we could grab a bite to eat in town. Our room was the second floor of a very quaint cottage. We had our own kitchen, bathroom and balcony that had views of the water. Breakfast was served from 7:30 to 10:30 in the morning and we sleepily dragged ourselves to the main building. The lobby is so cozy, with shades of blue and white on the furniture and decorations surrounding a brick-designed fireplace. It looks like the most inviting place to spend a snowy afternoon. We followed our knows through the lobby and were greeted with the smell of baking breads and coffee served on a giant screened in porch that spanned the back of the house. Here you can enjoy a sweeping view of the green lawn and the blue water while enjoying fresh made popovers and muffins, fresh fruit, coffee and orange juice. After finishing the popovers and muffins we filled our mugs with coffee and wandered down to the private beach to dip our toes in the water and bask in the sunshine. We checked out around 11 which was the simplest process. Again, the woman who accepted our key was all smiles and best wishes for our next destination and hoping we would come back. We truly felt like family and pulled out of the Inn with goofy grins on our faces. You’re truly family at the High Tide Inn and I would recommend that you arrange your travel plans to stay here as this is a destination and an oasis of comfort and tranquility.
