Had dinner there tonight. Excellent value, great assortment of vegetables and sauces, meat choices pork, beef, lamb and turkey. Multiple sauces were good and you could add peanuts or sesame seeds if you preferred. All you could eat with rice, soup and appetizers. Could not beat the price, $ 26.00 for 2. If staying in the area, do not miss eating here!

We went here yesterday for the first time. Now I took the time to read the other reviews before posting my own, and must urge folks to give them another shot. I am a clean freak, I hate dirty restaurants, and will not eat somewhere that does not practice good food handling. I am extremely picky about this. This is by far, bar none, the cleanest, freshest and safest restaurant I have eaten at to date. The possible exception was the old bathrooms that need a serious update. The rice and soup was fairly plain, but well done. The pots stickers were yummy, not too spicy, but not bland. The veggie selection looks fresh, and I love the meat is the last thing you scoop up. I have seen so many slobs dropping meat in the veggies on the way down the line. I love their signs reminding you not to use your hands. For God’s sake, it’s all you can eat folks, come back a second time. Anyway, they lacked teriyaki sauce, but their house sauce was perfect. The kid waiter was not the friendliest in the world, but he was attentive and efficient. I will take an efficient and attentive waiter over an ass kisser anytime. The tables were spotless, the range hood and floors spic and span. I watched them wash their hands often, but also noted he touched raw product and cooked with the same hand. To be fair, the hand was on the outside of the bowl, so please refrain from licking the bowl. Either they were really bad six months ago, or some people are pissed they got called out for being nasty. I do not get some of these reviews. Is it the best food I ever had? No, but it is the best mongolian barbeque between auburn and Sacramento that we have found. I updated this review. I read some of the previous reviews more carefully, and noticed a pattern. The people who reviewed are clueless. One«elite» member reviews little Caesars on a regular basis and only gives 5 stars to pretentious shit holes. Walk in, look around. You will see what I mean, this place is spotless and well run… I challenge anyone to produce pics otherwise.

I am not sure how this place is still in business the place is dirty and the food does not look sanitary or appetizing. We were already in and had our bowls and were too embarrassed to leave. We made sure we didn’t get any meat. I really wonder when the last time is the health department has been there! The grill didn’t look like it had been cleaned in a long time. The staff was not friendly!

Worst Mongolian BBQ I’ve ever had in my life! Not even sure why we sat down after seeing the unsafe food?! Horrible looking food ingredients. Totally unsanitary. Not even sure how this place passed food safety inspections. Nasty bugs were at the bottom of the sauces, meat was not properly refrigerated, vegetables were not fresh and they were dry. Bad flavor. I’ll be surprised if we don’t get sick after eating at this place! $ 70 total for 2 adults &3 little kids is outrageous too! Wish I could give them zero stars!

Not a good experience. And that’s too bad. It could have been better he chose not to want to work with us.

The rice was so bad that I gagged on it. So there I am, gagging, pushing my bowl away, yet trying to remain calm and polite so as not to disturb my boyfriend, who is happily eating the rice with spoons full of soup.(Is that a thing?) I felt the same way about the soup, which tasted so powerfully of egg and oil that I thought to myself that this was the broth version of mayonnaise. The egg rolls and wontons that were brought to our table were good. The food was edible, maybe even good, but nowhere near as good as what I expect from Mongolian BBQ. After striking out twice in one month, I’m getting kind of wary of trying any new Mongolian places, although I had actually heard from friends that this place was great. There was only one kind of noodle, and there was no pineapple, which seriously, seriously throws my game off, especially now that I don’t put wine in my noodles like I used to. The other sauce choices were limited. The veggie selection(other than the missing pineapple) was pretty decent, and at least the meat was all frozen, unlike that other place which I recently reviewed. They are so clean that if you were to, say, use one bowl to smash down the frozen meat in another bowl, you might catch hell for it. The way the cook came up to me with his finger in the air and that stern look on his face made me feel like a five-year-old who just ripped the heads off of all her sister’s dolls. Crap, I’m in trouble… The best part was that he ALMOST put my cooked food back in that extra-contaminated bowl, but then he caught himself. But, is touching the bad bowl, setting it down, and then immediately picking up the new clean bowl really any better than touching one bad bowl with another? Times hands were washed between picking up the raw bowl and handing back the cooked bowl: zero. Number of hand-sanitizer pumps for customers to use before heading back to their tables with hands that just touched the raw-meat spatulas: zero. In conclusion, sorry-not-sorry that I tried to fit more food in my bowl, at, you know, an all-you-can-eat place. Also, I would like to clarify(per the owner comment) that although I did originally upload the wrong photo(like I said, I had two bad experiences at two separate places in one week), this is the right review for the right place. I double checked the address.

Great spot for some fresh Mongolian BBQ. Who cares if the employees don’t speak English? Food is universal. And putting together a bowl isn’t quantum physics. Great local spot when it’s cold out!

Awful service. No one speaks English, your only allowed one bowl for lunch… you can’t smash your bowl down to fit as much as you can in that one bowl… They give you two whole wonton chips. one small napkin. And if you ask for more napkins they gave us one napkin between the three of us. Had to argue with the lady to get boxes for our leftovers place is way outdated. Bathrooms were gross. How is this place still open? We will never go back there.

It’s a hole in the wall, family owned restaurant. It aged, old furniture, and looks a little dingy, but guess what? the food is fresh, traditional, and tastes great! Enjoy! Spice it up and eat happy

I would give this a 4 star had the service up front been better. We went in having no idea about how this place worked. The young guy up front was very vague and didn’t seem very interested in explaining things. Luckily there were two other customers there and they explained it. Basically it’s a buffet where you gather all the ingredients(raw) and put them together in a bowl to hand to the cook. The food was very good and I look forward going back and experimenting with the ingredients. I was unsure whether I could go back for seconds and I wanted more soup and pot stickers but again the guy made himself pretty unavailable until he handed us the check abruptly(subtle hint?) The price was reasonable at 10 bucks a person if you can get seconds. I was still a bit hungry when I left though.

The food is great. They fixed up the restrooms and eating area about two years ago so it’s much nicer than it was. The restaurant shuts down for three hours each afternoon so they can set up for dinner but also because they take English classes at the Korean church during this time. The older women’s English is getting much better. The son helps out and does speak fluent English. It is a little expensive but not prohibitively. But the food is very good and the selection of veggies is great.

We’ve been going here for years and do love the food, but I have some gripes. First, nobody there speaks English. The older woman doesn’t speak any English, and the young man says as few words as possible and has no business being in customer service. It’s obviously a family-run business, but they should hire a server/cashier who not only speaks fluent English, but also has people skills. I bet they’d do so much more business. Second, it is over-priced. Way too expensive. I only eat one bowl full, so $ 12 is just too much. But sometimes I just have to have Mongo. Lunch is a better value if you only eat one bowl full. Third, it needs some updating. They should fix it up a little and keep it a little cleaner. Fourth, sometimes in the summer it’s too hot in there. They need to turn up the A/C. If we walk in and it’s hot, we turn around and go somewhere else. And lastly, I wish they wouldn’t close between lunch and dinner. Sometimes I like lunch at 2:00 or dinner at 4:00. Otherwise…I do love the Mongolian BBQ food, it’s a healthier option, and I would be bummed if they went out of business. I just wish they’d take some advice and make some changes.

The staff is very nice and if you know how to stack the bowl high you get more than your money’s worth. Great way to get a bunch of meat and veggies for lunch for only $ 8

I give 3 stars instead of my 4 star rating about 3 years ago. I’ve been at least 15 times in those 3 years. The food is still good, absolutely nothing has changed there. Same quality and quantity and still reasonably priced. My beef is with the appearance and upkeep. The buffet bar is old. Just about every surface and fixture should have been replaced at least 5 years ago. The carpets are filthy. Don’t even get me started on the bathrooms– yeesh! If you are staff or family; I love you and I’m offering you this advice. Please put some money back into your business. I promise you people will notice and you’ll make all of it back in a hurry!

Our Family favorite!!! I grew up with this place and still love it! Great food and you can make it anyway you like. Pro for me: the meat is thin and doesn’t have much fat on it!!! It tastes so much better that way, and is easier to eat! I guess it’s all up to personal taste, but the servers leave you alone, fill your drinks and bring the check when your done… no fuss or fake customer service. I love how the chef at the grill bows to us when our meal is finished cooking, I just wish I knew how to return the honor! Give it a try with an open heart… these folks are for real, they don’t waste time on the bs… and the quality is SUPERB!!! A++++++++++

We have been regulars at Mongolian BBQ in Cameron Park for years and we love it. It’s not fancy but its good food. They have a good selection of veggies and meats and of course the various sauces when creating your bowl. It’s a family owned business and a very sweet family they are. They know us so well that they have our drinks and my extra bowl of rice at our table without asking. They have even sent me home with herb tea when I’ve been sick(-: If you like Mongolian or want to try it, stop by and give them a try.

Food is ok, but manager/waitress lady is not very nice. Not sure anyone that works there speaks english. Go to the Mongolian BBQ by the theater in El Dorado Hills instead.
