We called them and they came out within a couple hours to repair a water line in our fridge that was severed by our movers when they removed the door. He was quick and now our fridge makes ice and we can get water from the door again!

We have a Bosch dishwasher that would not work. We were quoted $ 45 service charge which included diagnosis of the problem and $ 125 for the repair plus parts. We thought this high, but went with it. Repair tech who was also the owner saw that our unit wasn’t getting water so started to take the unit apart to find the problem. Unbeknownst to us, our son had turned off the dishwasher supply line while we were on vacation and that was the problem. Our dishwasher was fine. So we were charged $ 170 for a half hour’s work including unnecessary partial dis-assembly. No repairs unless you consider turning the supply line back on a repair. We were told Bosch is really difficult to work on. Not sure what this has to do with a supply line. From my receipt’s Terms & Conditions«The service all is based on the time required to travel to the customer’s house and the time required to analyze the problem and prepare an estimate of labor and parts required to repair the unit.» I think it should have said service call not service all. If we had been advised the repair was turning the valve back on, we’d have passed on the labor portion. So our two lessons were; check the water supply line and don’t call Sierra Foothill Appliance Service again.

Called them out for a rattle in our Whirlpool oven. Mike the service man partially removed the main electrical panel to be able to view behind it and possible look at the fan or better listen to the fan. Found the rattle to be a sheet metal rattle and tightened a screw which removed the rattle. Then replaced the electrical panel, said he tested everything and went on his way. Chrage $ 135. That evening we used the upper oven to bake and the lower oven to broil. Neither could be shut off. The buttons on the panel to shut off the ovens did not work at all. In order to shut off the ovens, I had to shut off the circuit breaker at the main house electrical panel. I call the repairman and he came out to the house on Monday morning. The oven is ten years old and in otherwise excellent condition. He claimed none of this wea his fault and it was just coincidence. He then explained that the main appliance electrical board may be bad but they are backordered. He stated he wished he had access to a electrical schematic for the board. I asked why he did not just call Whirlpool. That is when he informed he didn’t have access to Whirlpool directly. I asked why since his card states he is a factory trained technician. He said he used to be a factory authorized rep but he has not been one for several year. I told him that it obvioulsy meant that I needed to reach a factory trained rep and he agreed. This is a case of serious misadvertising. His card clearly states«Factory Trained Technicians and lists Whirlpool. He is trying to state he is factory trained just not factory authorized any longer and doesn’t have access to the factory. Now I must start over with another service call and labor. I paid $ 135 not only for nothing but to now have a completely inoperable oven as opposed to one with a rattle. He has done us great harm in my opinion and I would recommend no one ever use this dishonest repairman again. In speaking with a factory authorized rep following his visit it turns out that the elctrical circuit board may not even be available due to the Tsunami in Japan and it may require replacing our entire oven due to the incompetence of this representative. It is really too bad consumers are left with very little recourse.
