Nice Food … Nice service … nice price. These are the 3 basics when you want to eat in simple healthy manner. Oh, no muss, no fuss, and no meat also fits into a trio of basics when stopping to eat is a simple act. Try Hobee’s for dinner. We had salmon, soup, and nice simple spinach pasta — it was quickly and pleasantly served. Most will cheer about a great break — fast,

My experience wasn’t the greatest as we walked in. No greeting or anything of an acknowledgement that we were there. We had to walk up to the host after 5 minutes of waiting around to tell him we wanted to eat here. The food was ok but a bit pricey for the amount of food you get. The only thing that was good about this place in my opinion was the waiter who waited on us. Very professional and great customer service. Other than that, this place is an ok spot. don’t think I will be coming back though.

Fantastic baked breads with blueberries etc. Breakfast is very good and located in the middle of the Pruneyard. I highly recommend this place for your eating pleasures. Service is good and they have outdoor seating as well. They are right next to the Theatre and Boswells. Lot of parking right next to you in the huge lot.

I love this place! Have been here on 3 different occasions and have tried something different each time. So far the Sonoma browns are my favorite. The blueberry coffee cake is amazing as is the pumkin coffee cake! Coffee isn’t weak and that is always a plus in my book. I took one star though because each time we went it seemed we got forgotten a bit. However the food is great enough that we will keep coming back.

I grew up going to this location and used to love it. The last few times I’ve ordered their potato scrambles to go, they’ve been lacking quality and love in their cooking. I just remember Hobbee’s always being a lot better than it generally is. I would hope it’s better when dining in.

I’m honestly not crazy about the chain in general, but that is because I’m not really a loud, diner person. But I’ll admit, the food is pretty good and the service is good. The waiters are always really nice and they go out of their way to get you anything you need. They always check in, bring things promptly and even when it is crazy, they do a good job. Cool. This last time, I got a crab benedict. Yum! It had a ton of crab. The sauce was just right, not too runny and perfectly creamy. The egg was also great, just runny enough. All together, it was really good. I always order it with a side of avocado, it always makes it even better. The hashbrowns are pretty good too, but I like them more crispy. I should really tell them next time.. .. Also, my friends are always happy too and no one every complains about their dish. We all leave happy and full. Great service. Good food. Simple décor.

I love Hobees. I used to work near Town and Country(where Santana Row is now) and there was a Hobees there. So we went there a lot. The menu is varied so it can satisfy a variety of appetites. Our server was very nice. There are things that need to be done in order for me to have an enjoyable meal and be satisfied with service. And our server did them. One of those things is checking on us after our food is served. It is very important to me, for the server to make sure that everything is ok and that we have everything we need. Reasonably filled beverages; water, tea, coffee. We always had a full glass or mug. Even AFTER we were done with our meal and had been brought the bill and we were just sitting there talking. When there is 80% of the seating open, I do not feel the need to rush out after eating a meal with a friend that I have not visited with for a long time. So my friends and I tend to sit and visit a long time. I love when a restaurant does not«abandon» us after we are done and the bill has been delivered. I really appreciate that they continued to fill our water, our tea, and our coffee. And then when we said we were done, she left us alone. Lovely. My friend had the salad bar and she must have enjoyed it because she went back. And I had country potatoes with mushrooms, cheese, and an egg. It was delicious. I love Hobees.

I have been coming to Hobee’s since I was a little boy and there is a reason I keep coming back. I have been to locations all over the South Bay and every time I go the service, food, and ambiance are always the same. I know that a lot of chain restaurants have a huge problem with consistently, but Hobee’s does not have that problem. To me, breakfast is the most important meal and Hobee’s has great breakfast. I know many people think it is useless and skip it, but when you get a hearty and tasty meal in the morning, the rest of your day is just THAT much more wonderful. You have extra energy and a little pep in your step. Why not start your day off well? Whatever you do, no matter what you order, make sure to get the coffee cake. It is to die for. Every flavor they have is great, but their original blueberry coffee cake is by far the best thing there. When you come to Hobee’s you can always count on a few things delicious coffee cake, a great breakfast, friendly service, and a dingy old time décor. Don’t be put off by the strange décor, you will definitely be missing out on something great.

I love Hobee’s for several reasons: The food is healthy and wholesome, the service is good, the atmosphere friendly and the prices are great! Breakfast at Hobee’s is my favorite. But they also have great lunches too. I have yet to have dinner here, but I am sure it is just as good! Hobbee’s is known for their spicy orange flavored ice tea. I believe it is the Good Earth brand that they also sell at the grocery stores now. They are also well known for their coffee cake. Hobee’s has several locations, but I do prefer the Pruneyard location!

I do enjoy the food… but the service is so poor it’s not worth frequenting as I otherwise would like! The eggs benny florentine is great as is their coffee cake but the silverware I found dirty and the slow uninterested service killed it for me. Again, the Pruneyard rocks and it’s cozy and nice inside. I especially love the San Jose bike club jerseys hanging around the ceiling wall area! it’s good traditional food but go before you get hungry!

Three and a half stars for the food and ½ star for being veg friendly. Mr Rinky and I ate here recently for a mid-afternoon meal. There was only a handful of customers. The service was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a hash brown dish with cheeses, spinach, onion and mushrooms. Very satisfying but I was hoping the hash browns would be the shredded crispy kind. I guess it’s a matter of semantics —some equate«hash browns» to home fries — cubed/sliced potatoes rather than flat, shredded, crispy kind. But being the Potatoholic I devoured them. I also ordered a slice of blueberry coffeecake which turned out to be a tall (6 inch?) with a few blueberries and a crumbly crust. The cake was very light and crumbly. Just okay. I was thinking the cake part would be denser. Mr Rinky had a single trip to the Salad Bar in which he piled up mixed greens, carrots, edamame, radish, tomatoes, red onion, garbanzo beans and more. I actually didn’t check out the salad bar just Mr Rinky’s plate. He was satisfied with it. He also got a plate of mixed vegetables(a huge, wonderful selection) with teriyaki sauce(there was also a choice of curry sauce). He thought that the sauce was a little too sweet for his palate. We shared a large glass of OJ. Nice to know there is a GOOD option for veg heads.

Met a friend here for breakfast this morning. I ordered the French toast, eggs, sausage. its served with some fruit. and my soda was served with a pineapple slice. I didn’t have to ask for a refill of soda. The waitress brought out a craft and left it on the table for me. This place is cool! My friend ordered something different but was served this GIANT blueberry muffin. I got to try alittle OMG it was delicious!!!

So I’m leaving my office building for lunch and I get a sudden dizziness while riding the elevator. I brace the hand rails and could feel something was wrong with me. I decided to go back upstairs and talk to my coworker who became a vegetarian with me at the beginning of the year. Quickly we realized that I hadn’t had any protein in two days straight. We think of all the PruneYard options, and decide omelets at Hobee’s would be best to quickly get a large amount of protein in my system. We head over and order two Florentine Omelets, plus tomatoes, with extra crispy potatoes. They didn’t mind our weird additions and modifications to their menu at all. The staff was really nice and brought our food quickly since I told them I needed protein ASAP. Now I eat omelets from Hobee’s almost every week, in addition protein shakes everyday(Yes, I learned my lesson).

A little over $ 10 for a large curry chicken & rice wrapped in spinach tortilla? WORTHIT! The flavor is right, it wasn’t a strong taste of curry like one might think, with the rice and wrap balancing of flavors was perfect. I wasn’t asked which choice of sides I want. It was either the choice of mini black beans or tortilla chips … I was given the tortilla chips, I didn’t realize there was NODIP for it… so it was kinda odd… I felt like it was a school lunch where you get bland chips on the side of a sandwich(my sandwich being the wrap) The wait for the food, it was a pretty slow time when I went, took 15+ minutes before I got my order. There wasn’t really a wait area for me so I kinda glanced around the place. Another approached me to take my order, I let him know I was already helped. I looked around some more … and another guy asked me if I was ready to order … haha, um? But the little vestibule had books for children to read, or is it decorations? Also, there’s an outside seating area on a nice day, you can let the folks in the restaurant know that you want an outside table before you sit down. Look on the tables to see what special’s they have, like ALOHAFRIDAY :) it ends at the end of the month I believe. And there’s free wi-fi here: D

On my most recent trip to San Jose I came to Hobbee’s with my family for brunch. On the drive over I specifically remember being told one thing: get the blueberry coffeecake. Hobbee’s is on the back side of Pruneyard next to the cool little courtyard in front of the movie theater. I guess I never really consider the Pruneyard to be a great destination spot, but the area is rather pretty with multiple public seating areas and a bunch of restaurants with outdoor patios. We got to Hobbee’s around 10am on a Saturday. I was expecting the place to be packed, but we were seated right away with no wait at all. The first thing I noticed when we walked in was that this was a «family restaurant» which means crying babies and loud children. Thankfully we were given a table against the back wall which actually ended up being rather quiet. The menu has a lot of breakfast and brunch favorites with house specialties made to order. It took a while for us to decide, but we all eventually landed on the same thing: the eye opener(two eggs served with country-style hash browns, chicken apple sausage, and blueberry coffee cake). The sunny-side-up eggs were cooked perfectly and the yolks provided a great dipping sauce for the hash browns and sausage. The sausage was really tasty but the hash browns were a bit dry and hard to swallow. The blueberry coffee cake however was amazing. To ensure I consumed as many calories as possible, because hell, I was on vacation, I even added the butter that came on the side. With the butter melted into the fluffiness of the cake, each bite was moist and had the perfect amount of cinnamon and bits of blueberries. Hobbee’s is a nice family restaurant that offers decent breakfast fare at very reasonable prices. Just pray you get seated toward the back of the dining area so you don’t have to deal with the children hyped up on coffee cake.

Pros — Darn good breakfast! The pancakes are amazing and homemade coffee cake is unbelievable. Love they’re variety of Eggs Benedict options, they also have great cheesy hash browns(if you go for that kind of thing). Great for your family and good selection for the kids. I go here quite often and would LOVE to give them 5 stars but… Cons — The services is Meh… its not«bad» but its not great. A little slow and inconsistent — Sometimes you have a person with coffee at your table every 2 minutes… then, just as you finally finish a cup no one is to be found. Sometimes when you sit down someone brings you some fruit… sometimes no one shows up for 10,15, even 20 minutes to even say hello. YOU always have to find your server to get your check, even though they have a line of people waiting to sit. Okay and now the freaky part… NONE of the servers ever SMILE… not a requirement which is why i still give this place 4 stars but come on, its breakfast man… i want to leave ready to face my day :) overall, I would definitely recommend this place. At the end of the day(or breakfast I should say) you’ll be happy you went.

With an endless selection of breakfast spots in SF… I’m lost as to where to go eat when I’m in San Jose. Friend and I heard that the coffee cake here was delicious. so we decided to head on over. How should I review this place? It’s like reviewing Denny’s so my expectations weren’t that high. It feels like Denny’s. Family-oriented, simple, old-fashioned, and had a familiar feel to it. Had to flag down the waitress a few times to get drink refills but she was nice. Ordered the French toast. Plentiful with sliced bananas and blueberries. It was decent. Although friend had the same dish I believe. and he thought his toast tasted REALLY off. I tried it and it definitely did not taste like mine. Like the bread was sour. It was best to stop eating his so we shared what was left on my plate. The best part of the experience — BLUEBERRYCOFFEECAKE. This thing was warm, moist with the right texture, and enough to feed the both of us. Savory and delicious indeed! Overall: 3. Don’t expect anything fabulous. But if you go, do try some of the coffee cake!

I’m so disappointed! I’m normally such a fan of Hobee’s but it’s been a while, especially to this location. We went for brunch on a quiet weekday. Service was ok… I always feel like I’m inconveniencing them when I ask to see what teas are available, but they do have a decent selection. Service was a little slow, and our waters were a long time coming. We had to remind them after we’re received all of our specialty drinks that we still didn’t have the basics at the table. Then the food come out and we were missing things or it just wasn’t right. My scramble was so runny(and I’m all for runny eggs, but this was extreme) and the cheese looked questionable. Seriously, I couldn’t tell if it was the light or if the cheese really was moldy. Regardless, it tasted questionable. I was so put off by the meal and wasn’t in the mood to deal with sending things back. We all just thought the experience was mediocre and I was so disappointed. I’ll stick with their other locations… I’m definitely not in a hurry to come back to this one.

Bland pasta. Soggy salad weighed down & heated up by the toppings. Dry chicken. Chicken instead of the salmon we actually ordered. Only positive. good garlic bread. Ah and good potatoes.

Came here for brunch before the D-box movies. The place reminds me of a California healthy type of IHOP. To my surprise, the food was really yummy. I had the chicken apple sausage scramble with blueberry coffeecake. The coffeecake… yum! fluffy, blueberry flavor was amazing. The crust of the coffeecake… what crust? It was so soft and fluffy. Soooo good with the smooth coffee they had. Did I mention I was there for brunch? Well, coffeecake is a must is all I can say.
