Nice place, tiny, open on weekends. Watch out for little kids in kung fu outfits, as minivans and SUVs that drop them off at the neighboring Martial Arts studio are never far behind. The owners are cool and very nice; they seem happy that you came in. This is not a response that I notice in many wineries in the area. This COULD be a comment on how I look or dress. Hell, it probably is. But my wife always looks respectable and I found the folks here to be far more polite and helpful than most. The wines are average(whites) to above average(pinot) to great(Mourvedre…purchased twice). and pricing ranges from 15 – 25 bucks. The Mourvedre is certainly in my top five wines around.

Hidden wine tasting spot in industrial area of Campbell open weekends. Cost to worth it rating: 3($ 5 tasting and decent priced bottles) Return worthiness: maybe Highlights: — Nice man: pourer of wine was pleasant and let us know we were welcome to retaste any wine we liked — Low key: all about sharing wine, no pretentiousness — Snacks: for passport weekend, then had some great hard, medium, and blue cheese as well as brownie bites Lowlights: — None of the wines we tasted made an impression on me Never knew there was a winery hidden there, so happy to try it, bit not sure I’ll be a frequent visitor.

Oh Pinder, my Pinder, why have I neglected you so! Whenever we do SCMWA Passport, we do it right. We get a bunch of people together, rent a limo and hit as many wineries as we can in a day. The last stop is always Pinder, because it’s right around the corner from our house and we can pay off the limo driver and walk/crawl home after they finally throw us out of the tasting room. Now I use the term«tasting room» lightly, because this isn’t a fancy Pichetti/Testarossa affair. They’ve got a space in an industrial park on Cristich(off McGlincey in Campbell) that serves as their office, barrel storage and tasting room. But good things come in small packages. They usually have six or seven excellent(and reasonably priced) wines at any given time, with barrel tasting to give you an idea of what’s in the pipeline. I recall the ’04 Pinot blowing my socks off, along with a certain Mourvedre that made an excellent stocking stuffer a few years ago. We were happy members of their wine club for several years, but this delightful economy has forced us to give up some earthly pleasures. For this I feel terribly sorry. We’ve probably missed some amazing vintages! Luckily, we’ve got a few bottles socked away in the event of an emergency. Anyway, if you go on Passport day( ) you’ll be treated to some good wine and some very good chili. We even attended a crush party a few years back. Great people, great wine and a wonderful time had by all.

This is probably the tiniest tasting room I have ever been to. It may well be the tiniest tasting room in California. Located on the edge of an industrial park, Pinder’s tasting room occupies one small room. The gentleman working there that day said I was his first customer. It was about 1:30 in the afternoon and they had been open since 11:00. So, he had to first open up some bottles for me to taste. He ended up pouring them in a fairly backwards order. Syrah, then a Mourvedre followed by two Pinots. I really liked the Mourvedre, a 2004 from Contra Costa County as much of Mourvedre seems to be. And, I just popped it open. Light to medium bodied with nice raspberry flavors. Part of what made the trip here memorable was the comedy in getting here. I drove passed some cops in the midst of arresting three teenagers. The place is also located next to a martial arts school so I need wait for them to finish their exercises so I could pull my car in and out of the lot.

Pretty darned good. I wasnt a fan of any of their whites, but everything else was not bad at all. Always nice to have local wineries to do some foo-foo tasting at(minus the foo-foo)

John and Marie do an amazing job! It’s a sure bet to stop by for a Saturday wine tasting. Their wines are excellent, well priced and very local if you are close to Campbell. BRAVO!!!
