with no hesitation, Dr Rubenstein is supurb. He really did save my life as I had MDS(pre leuckemia(sp). I was so severely anemic, I was told I would have died in 2 days without treatment. I remember waking up and seeing a blood transfusion and a kindly, smiling face. I said«are you dr. roserio?”-I was really groggy and in a fog. The kindly man said, «no, I am Dr. Rubenstein». That became a long, precarious relationship in which I had total trust in this man. he was the expert, helping me to cope with all the stages of the MDS disease. If you have a life treatening disease or condition, this the man to put your faith in. I really don’t write reviews, but it really bothered me to see Dr. Rubenstein did not have a really good rating on Unilocal. This is THEMAN to place your trust in.

A couple of months ago on a Friday afternoon I came down with a condition called ITP, Immune Thrombocytopenia Purpura with a critically low blood platelet count under 2000. A risk for spontaneous bleeding with no injury… great. I was referred to Dr. Martin Rubenstein by my excellent primary care physician Dr. Catherine Grellet. Dr. Rubenstein’s practice is a VERY busy Oncology/Hematology practice with multiple doctors. They were able to get me in on the same day due to the critical nature of my condition. This review is not for the practice itself because the practice is run much like others, nothing special and what you would typically expect. Definitely average… BUT…Dr. Rubenstein is leaps and bounds above average and is a highly skilled physician. He is an expert in his field and I feel fortunate that I was referred to him. Thanks to Dr. Rubenstein I am still here and he definitely took the time to explain my condition to me and answer my MANY questions when I was under extreme distress. Blood disorders can be a tricky issue and I am glad Dr. Rubenstein is in charge of my care.
