No customer service skills at all. Also, beware that their milkshakes come out of a machine like at a fast food restaurant. For a great ice cream selection and amazing customer service, head straight down the road to Rainbow Snow!

Just a good local ice cream shop. They only accept cash. I usually have to park down Lynmar Ave. a little because they only have 3 parking spots in front of their store. Good and cheap.

I grew up not far from Annie’s, and the place really is a bit of local legend. It’s a small-town place, and is pretty old fashioned(Cash only!). Most of the staff are local high school students, and if you go at any point during the summer, you’ll probably be standing in line with one of the local t-ball teams. The food is simple, but is a great value. A «baby» cone is enough for anyone, but if you’d adventurous, order a large cone for a dollar or so more and watch as they tip the forearm-long stack of ice cream on an angle to get it through the window. They only only serve raspberry soft-serve on certain days, which is worth planning ahead for, but if you just have the chance to stop in on a whim, do it. It’s an extremely cheap summer treat, and their recent renovations make it a lot nicer to stick around at eat at one of their picnic tables or seats. Note: They are open seasonally, and it will often vary when they open and close each season. They have a facebook page, though, so you can probably check to see if they’re open if you’re not sure.

I just moved to Central PA and within walking distance of Annie’s. I was so excited to have an ice cream shop nearby and I’d heard such great things about it! People raved about their milkshakes. When I went this weekend, I asked if they did mint chocolate chip milkshakes and the girl at the counter nodded yes. When I got the finished milkshake from another girl she said, «here’s your mint chocolate milkshake». I thought she mistakenly called it the wrong thing. Sure enough, though, when I tried it, it was indeed a mint chocolate milkshake, and not mint chocolate chip. When I brought it back to the counter and asked if it was a misunderstanding the girl told me that they don’t have chocolate chips but knew what I asked for. If you’re going to substitute something for something else you don’t make, I think you should at least tell the customer. I opted for the fudge milkshake in lieu of my first choice, which was just OK. It’ll be a nice place to stop on a hot summer night but I’m not nearly as excited about it as I was when I moved here.
