Inn At Haystack Rock

I liked– the jacuzzi, the pillows, the shower heads, the cable TV, the porches.
I didn’t like– the wifi didn’t work at all while my family and I were here. That was a huge bummer because I count on free wifi at places or I have to pay for a data overage.
Over all I liked the place and how close it was to the ocean but ya’ll need to get it together on that wifi.

when we wanted to visit Cannon Beach for an art festival sort of last minute. We were able to check in early which was nice. The lady who checked us in was very nice and they have a pretty decent stack of DVDs should you need some entertainment. They do make sure you are stocked up on local coffee, Andes mints and decent bath stuff. Our room was cute and clean and we did not hear our neighbors at all (we were in room #5). I must say the location was perfection and we walked everywhere since the hotel is right in the middle of Cannon Beach’s main road. There is a ton of easy beach access right across the street.

King bed my ass. More like a big double or a small queen. There was dirty laundry from a prior occupant and the kitchen was dirty. They apparently don’t clean the kitchenette very often. The worst part though was that the hot water wasn’t enough to fill the spa tub all the way to cover the jets. The reason I got this room was that tub for my wife. Fail. Fail. Fail. Want to go complain in the morning? To bad, nobody even near the office. On the plus side, it did have a nice gas fireplace. They provided sleepy monk coffee in room. They have a bunch of 90’s DVDs for check out and some old fruit that they call a complimentary breakfast. Not going back or recommending to anyone. Ever

Booked a room here last minute the morning of, it was one of the better priced options available. Located pretty much right in the middle of the two areas with most of the restaurants, but it was only a 5 – 10 minute walk either direction. Right across the street is a beach access where you can see Haystack Rock and its a 10 minute walk to be right in front of it. Very comfortable beds, fireplace in the room and nice water pressure. Free wifi worked good. Very friendly lady working at the front desk.

We enjoyed a great stay at this motel. We arrived at 10:30 PM and the desk was closed, but we got our keys out of the drop box. Doesn’t seem too safe, but it worked out.
The room was huge (main room w/​kitchenette, TV & Andes mints, bathroom and bedroom). The bedroom and bathrooms were very big too.
Everything was very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. The room was clean, comfortable and the TV’s were flat screen.
Perfect!

I recently visited The Inn at Haystack Rock for a few nights for a romantic getaway. A fireplace, jacuzzi tub, cozy setting for under $ 100/​night– what could be better? The reviews on Trip-​Adv were all excellent.
First, it’s important to note GPS has trouble recognizing North Hemlock from South, so trust the given address– it’s a hop– skip from Evoo and the community church.
We had Unit #2. It was lovely and we were pleased. The bed was comfortable and the room clean. It had a snack kitchen: microwave, toaster, coffee maker, fridge. Being frugal and because I have dietary issues, I packed some things, like the makings for hot toddies, fruit, yogurt, etc. The room also had place settings and glassware for two, as well as soap, sponge, paper towels, salt and pepper. This was all really helpful.
That night, after an interesting dinner at Morrie’s, (salami as a drink garnish!), we thought, «Let’s take a soak!» How naïve we were. So naïve. We turned on the faucet and waited. Cued up all of George Michael’s entire catalog (including Wham!) on the iPad with the portable Bose and waited. If we had known, we would have started filling the tub before we went to dinner and for a walk on the beach. You may prefer to check out a DVD from the front desk. They had Hatfields and McCoys 2-​disc miniseries available… that might have been the right amount of time. What I am saying here is the tub is cavernous and the faucet a trickle. A poorly temperature-​controlled trickle. Yay, tub is filled and searing hot! Oh no! So hot!
The next night we wanted a tub, we finally got smart, and take note, here, as this is meant to help you: fill the tub with the shower and faucet at the same time– they are not connected. Okay, that makes sense. That works better! A tip posted in the tub instructions would have been nice… but we spent the wait tim ebbing, rem, romantic, so it’s all good.
The fireplace had a mind of its own, turning off and on at will.
We used our hands as ice buckets at the machine as we weren’t provided one, but figured our room was right there next to the machine, so whatevs.
Note to self: never install skylights in your bedroom. So bright. Where is my sleep mask? nooooo!
Everyone we encountered on the trip in and out of the Inn was lovely, really. We had a great time. Just, you know, bring an eye mask. And a bucket, which can be used for ice or to walk out to the beach and get water to fill your tub before you decide a double-​feature of Schindler’s List and Shawshank Redemption sounds like a good pastime.
(Also, the Wifi is super iffy, especially if there is a storm or wind.)

Nice, clean room. Bathroom was clean. Room had a microwave and a small refrigerator. Wifi was horrible inside the room. I was in room #1 — close to the rood (i.e noisy). get a room near the reception — u may have better wifi coverage. AT&T coverage was pretty non existent inside the room. Cell phone worked fine outside the room.

I’m really surprised by the somewhat negative reviews for this hotel. We really liked this hotel when we were there. There was a lot of natural light in the room which made it very cheery. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the local coffee they provided. The gardens outside give this place a nice touch. You also can’t beat the short walk to the beach and Haystack rock. It’s also very close to town, you could walk anywhere!

This place was a «just right» gem for my son and I. We spent 2 nights and 3 days in Cannon Beach during Spring vacation. We were allowed to check in early, because the room (8) had been serviced already. That was a bonus, as the weather was a little foul. Upon getting settled in, the weather cleared up and we walked across Hemlock via W. Adams, to the beach! So easy.
Though I did not read any reviews of this place until after my stay, I will only agree with one comment: unit 8 has thin walls… allowing us to hear our neighbors.
Pat and the other lady working the desk were courteous and informative. The accommodations & grounds were impeccably clean and orderly. This small unit offered a two range stove top, microwave, coffee maker, dishes for 4, pots & pans, wine glasses, etc. The kitchenette /​dining /​living room was «just right» for my 6 yr old son and I. It had 2flat screen tv’s w/​built in DVD player, along with free movie rentals– perks for my kiddo!
I really only missed having a tub. This unit only has a shower, that does come with a wide range, soft spray shower head. The unit has ample storage space if you are playing on staying a week. The grounds also has a court yard that I might have used if the weather had not been showers! It is within walking distance to downtown; we walked to the post office as well as the candy shop & yarn store.
You bet I would recommend them again.

I should have done all my research before booking. I wouldn’t say disappointing, but I expect a better stay.
I am quite happy with the front desk staff. I think her name was Pat. Very sweet lady and very helpful.
There are DVD rentals at the front office. Free movie for the night, which is a bonus.
We were given unit #1 which is the closest unit to the street. Very noisy. We kept awake the whole night with cars passing by. I didn’t bother me too much, but my poor bf was up the entire night. He was cranky the next day, gosh!

Really disappointing. I stayed in unit 8, which was in need some TLC, the ceiling leaked. I did get a blue berry muffin when I told the management about the leaking ceiling, never heard of repairing a leak that way, but oh well. The walls are terribly thin. The unit is sandwiched between the office and another rental. I awoke to the sound of kids and adults yelling from the unit next door. I could hear their words as well as their actions, not fun. I could also hear conversations in the office. The bed was comfy tho, I’ll give them that. I would not stay here in the future.
