This is great place to get a quick good quality hair cut for a fair price. Jordan has been my barber for 8 years and he does a superb job every time. I highly recommend this place!!! U will never get the same service and price if u go to supercuts or any other place.

This place is awesome. The younger guy, Jordan I believe, did an awesome job. He has some serious skill as a barber. Did an amazing job and when I wanted it just a little shorter, it’s like he knew exactly what I wanted. Perfect cut. After reading the other reviews here I decided that the 1 – 3 star review givers were mostly all just angry people that will find fault with anything. And I think I was right based on everything I saw. Yes, there’s hair on the floor. Guess what, it’s a barber shop! No one ignored me when I walked in. No one gave me dirty looks. Im a scrawny white guy with as much style as a bag of potatoes and they still treated me well and were courteous and polite. Ignore the bad reviews, they have no substance in my opinion. Again, I’m just blown away by how polite, efficient, and skilled Jordan, as well as the other barbers I’m sure, are. This is an excellent surprise from what I expected to get from a barber shop in San Fernando Valley. Really excellent.

Friendly place but haircuts are really subpar. Prices are good but you get what u pay for. I went a few times but started noticing the declining quality. You’re in and out fast but you will probably will be anxiously waiting for your hair to grow back.

I went to Gil’s today for a flattop, and got what I wanted, only better! =D The nice Asian lady who attended me did a fantastic job on my hair today. It’s little wonder why Gil’s is such a great place to visit! =D

I have a very basic hairstyle requiring what should be a simple cut, so it’s surprising to me how often people mess it up. Gil’s always gets it just right, no muss no fuss, and coincidentally much less expensive than just about anywhere else($ 11 for a typical haircut at the time of this review). I’ve had my best cuts from the proprieter, his son and daughter(the three in that first Unilocal photo), but I know people who prefer the others.

Possibly the worst cut I’ve had. I asked specifically for a 2 on the sides blended to the top with scissors. She buzzed my entire head… unevenly. The first time she asked how I liked it I thought she was kidding. Ugh. Plus I had to direct her 2 more times and she still cut it uneven.

I use to come to Gils when I was 5 years old till I was 15 then they moved and I never knew where to till today. My first time coming into the shop in the last 7 years and Lee the barber who use to cut my hair was still there and still remembered me and made my visit all the more enjoyable. Will be coming back.

I have been going there for over 20 years(since I was a teenager). The business has been passed down to the next generation but the quality of the service is still great. I HIGHLY recommend it.

I have been going to Gil’s since the late 90s and while Gil was still alive. Great family ran barber shop and Lee has always been my guy. By far the best compared to any other place I have tried.

Lee has been cutting my hair since high school. 14 years later he’s still cutting my hair, other than when I buzz it myself. He’s always happy to see me when I come in and always has good conversation to bring to the table. He’s the man and I’d recommend anyone to get their haircut by him. He’s always quick and does the job right. You the man Lee!

Been going here since I was like 14– that be 16 years since I am 30. FML but this place is cheap and good. $ 11 bucks– they raised it $ 1, the humanity!!! j/k still good price for a hair cut– I got my hair cut by everybody here– usually I go to Lee or Susie. I go to Lee if I want that Fade– keeping it nice and clean or short and HOOOOD. I go to Susie if I want to style my hair and look like BRADPITT or Jake Gyllenhaal. I show her a pix and say make me look like this. She tries her best but… My face does not look like them. I also get my hair cut by D too. He is cool and a young cat. Only complaint is 8 to 5pm. It closes way to early, I use to cut my hair once a week now I can only go on Saturdays so I miss a hair cut some times. My hair be growing like wild fire, ya heard???

Okay, I’ve now been a regular here after finding«my guy»… and, I’ll spill the beans… his name is Lee. He’s amazing and fast, in and out of there in ten minutes max, assuming he doesn’t have a line — which sometimes he does. Every time — it’s perfect. Just a tip… about tipping… one old guy ahead of me got Lee and gave him, literally, the change in his pocket for a tip. That’s insulting. I’m sorry, but this isn’t the 60’s, even though it’s old school here. Yes, the price is only $ 11 but you can’t fork over $ 5 for a great haircut? How much is your time worth to you? If you went to Supercuts, you’d spend 45 minutes in the chair for some trial and error haircut and you’d pay over $ 20. With the cheap price here, you can’t sit there and go, «Well, 10 or 20% is around $ 1 or $ 2). Yes, $ 5 is almost 50% of $ 11 but think about it -$ 16 out the door is FARCHEAPER than going to any of these chains out there. These guys work mainly on tips so hook them up.

My boyfriend found this place and I go with him sometimes. He hardly ever has to wait for a barber, the cut is always great, and the price is awesome.

Got there at 4:30 but the door was locked! I guess they don’t always close at 5 like the say. With their limited hours open I’d hope that they at least keep to what they say! Left work early for nothing. Also in response to the ‘owner’ commenting below me, how can you know who I am when I could not step foot into your closed store(happened twice). Thanks again. Sorry that you are upset about the negative review, I am here to tell the truth not to lie and give 5 stars when I got no service.

My barber so I definitely want to give them 5 stars but I can’t because they are open Banker’s hours. They close by 5 and they are closed on Sundays. Why are they awesome. Its only 10 bucks for a haircut. CASH They are quick and clean. You go in, grab a seat, wait till the next booth opens up and get it done. Very traditional Barber so don’t expect anything fancy. They ask you what you want and they make it happen.

Walked in here for a razor fade. Noone greeted me when i entered, and the floor was covered with nasty hair. Felt very dirty and unwelcomed. Got my haircut somewhere else: o)
