I love this place!!! I have been going here for months. All I order is the chicken kabob plate. The chicken is so soft and juicy. It comes with a side of salad and hummus. Great food. The owner is really nice. The only downside are the prices. But def worth it because you get great food! :)

Great food! Owners are very nice, place is very clean too! It may take a while for the food to get to your table so it is recommended that you order in advance so you don’t have to wait that long when you get there.

Such great food! So happy to have some place nearby with tasty and healthy gyros and falafel. Good service, clean place… warm pita, hummus and peppers were served to us before our food was brought out. Can’t wait to go back!

Before I go any further with this review, I do have to present one important caveat: the first gyro I ever had was in greece(the birthplace of the gyro), and it was FREAKINGAMAZING. So, when I give this place a 3 star rating, it’s not so much a reflection of this establishment’s «Ok-ness»(because this place actually does have pretty good food), but rather how it pales in comparison to the real thing over in Europe. It’s not their fault(Quickie Grill’s). It’s not my fault(I’m just saying it like it is). Blame it on my gyro hero in the motherland. Anyway, the Quickie Grill is a mom and pop type establishment that doesn’t feel so much«old school» as it does squeaky clean. The owner is a very laid back, portly man with a mean stache. I don’t know if he’s greek… he could very well be middle eastern. In any case, he’s a nice fellow with a good command of his menu. Ask him for recommendations if you’re not sure what to get. Here’s what I’ve ordered in the past: «Gyro wrap»($ 5.95): very fresh, quite good. If this is your first time visiting, you should probably start with this and work your way out. Some people get weirded out by gyro meat, but it’s a unique taste and texture I find delicious. «Shish Kabob Plate”($ 9.99): The filet mignon kabobs(ordered medium rare) were very tender, but somewhat lacking in flavor. Served with kabob bell peppers and onions which are always good. The philly cheese steak wrap($ 7.99): very good. I didn’t order this but I had a bite of my friends. My question is though, «why would you come to a greek place for a philly cheese?» Check before coming here to see if you can snag a good deal. With a coupon, it’s definitely worth coming here. Without one… still worth coming here… but…yeah.(Or just save up some money and get over to greece for the real deal).

I decided to check out the place after buying a GROUPON. Even though their menu clearly shows that their expertise is Greek and Mediterranean food, I ordered the steak quesadilla. Even though the menu said it contained carne asada, it was shredded beef. It was very salty. There was very little cheese inside. It did come w/pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream, as the menu said. I was surprised to see that their fountain drinks only came in 1 small size. And it was 2 bucks? Way over-priced, even if it was refillable. Will I go back? Maybe, if I can not be deterred by IN-N-OUT.

Lunch for two at just over $ 10? Yes please! The food was delicious(I had the falafel wrap and the awesome man at the counter gave us some hummus on the house since I told him I’d heard it was really good here OMGSOGOOD). The restaurant was spotless, from the order counter to the grill area to the tables and even the restroom. The service was extremely friendly and efficient, and the food was so good I wanted to keep eating even though I was full. Will definitely visit again if I’m ever in the area… loved it!

I love Greek food, so when there is an opportunity to eat at a place serving Greek food, I’m all about it! What I liked about Quickie grill was the great service. Our food was going to take a little longer than normal, so they came out and gave us pita bread and humus, which I thought was extremely nice! Food was good! I felt like I was in a nice sit down restaurant, instead of the café type place it was. A little on the expensive side, but well worth the food!

The Food was good. Only gripe is the high prices. Talking around 7.99 for a gyro or sandwhich no drink and over 12 for a plate combo. The place reminds me of a quiznos or a subway that was converted. If you don’t mind the prices you should go. The food I agree is good though. I might have trouble coming back because its too much for a casual lunch or quick meal. Not exactly a place you go to for dining because of the décor.

I love this place so much. THANKS UnilocalERS! It’s so fresh, love that they DELIVER. YAY. My favorite is the shish kabob plate. YUM but the owner makes me try new things. I AM A REGULARINTHEPAST2WEEKS hahaha Go try it! If you’re too lazy to drive order 20 dollars minimum and he’ll deliver! GREATCUSTOMERSERVICE, TOO. Try it, try it! I rarely go on Unilocal to praise a location. I usually go to bitch but ya know. It must be good for me to go on :)

This place is by far the most affordable Mediterranean food in the area. I usually get their chicken plate that comes with: Salad, Rice, Humus, Pita bread, Chicken and a drink for $ 5.99 that price can’t be beat. Today I tried their Beef Kabob plate and it was also delicious and affordable $ 9.99. Their service is excellent and very friendly.

Love this place. Great food, made fresh, it leaves you feeling healthy and not like you ate a bunch of shit like you would next door at In N Out.(Not that theres anything wrong with In N Out; its just better if you have a hangover.) If you wanna eat healthy and quick, go here. Staff is friendly and prompt. Good stuff, if youre in Canoga Park area I recommend the shit out of it.

Bought a Groupon here after seeing the high marks on Unilocal!I got the beef kebab plate & it was seasoned to perfection! The side of varied jalepenos was a yummy garnish! Need to request it though. I’m soooo glad to have found this yummy & healthy place!

The Queen and I had a very pleasant lunch here this afternoon. Thank you fellow Unilocaler’s who have put in your reviews on this place. They are all accurate to our experience. Nice little café. I think it could use a different name though. The word«Quickie» doesn’t really describe the food or the restaurant. I would not consider this fast food. It is however a great place to sit down and have a proper lunch or dinner. You order from the front counter, and the guy brings you your food. The guy was super nice. I ordered the Gyro wrap which was great. Beef and lamb slices with diced tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and tatziki sauce. Although they call it a wrap, it comes on pita bread like you would expect for a Gyro. GF ordered the combo kabob plate which she loved. You get a combo of marinated beef and chicken kabobs served with a side of Greek salad, basmati rice, hummus, and pita bread. She’s all excited to tell her friends at work about this place so they can get delivery. There’s lots of other stuff on their menu to try next time. They offer rotisserie chicken, fajitas, burritos, quesadillas, and like(11) more wraps to try. It was nice to get up from a meal and not feel like a stuffed little pig. Their food is good, the place is clean, and has nice décor. Recommended!

Really delicious, really fresh, really healthy food. Really clean restaurant, really nice owners. I last had a DELICIOUS gyro wrap — amazing flavor, fresh, toasty pita — you know when it’s crunchy AND chewy? Yum. The owner was so friendly, helpful, and generous. They have really wonderful and authentic Mediterranean and middle eastern food, plus burritos and salads. I want to try the burritos, but I cannot stop getting the gyros and doner kabobs — they’re irresistible. They’re hard to spot, but they are next to an In-and-Out Burger and a now empty Quiznos — but the food is so crazy delicious and healthier, to boot!

I just stopped in and had a chicken shawerma wrap and brewed iced tea for 7.63. The wrap was very tasty with a delicious sauce including mint and(I think) a hint of cinnamon or allspice in the marinade along with fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce. The place was clean, but empty(although I have to admit it was around 2:30 in the afternoon). It is nice to see a healthy fresh choice in the midst of In-N-Out, Quiznos and Panda Express. I agree that it would be nice to see such a place supported, although I am not sure the location is ideal. The menu has a nice, broad variety of wraps, ranging from roast turkey breast, to the gyro, Philly cheese steak, kabob and fajita. They also have delicious looking salads, rotisserie chicken and full on plates. The food was good, the service was quick and friendly and the place was clean. I can’t say it was cheap(hence only 4 and not 5 stars), but it is not ridiculous. I think it is well worth a try.

mmmmm, yum! This place is really good. The place is very clean and nice, obviously nothing fancy, but really great food. I had a chicken shawerma wrap that had a salad and some really tasty sauce called tatziki sauce. It was delicious! I paid $ 6.58 for a really delicious dinner and a healthy one, even though I smelled the IN N OUT next door, Im glad I had this food. Staff is nice too! Definitely will go back!

Alas, Zarro is gone. Maybe they would have still been here if I had taken the time to write a review, or drop in for lunch more than once every month and a half. Shame on me. I loved Zarro — more for the owners than the food — and having said that, the food was really great, so you know the owners were about the nicest, friendliest couple who’ve ever owned a Mediterranean-style quick-serve-type place. But they sold the business and the new owners renamed the place Quickie Grill. The guy behind the counter made a point of telling me that they’ve retained the cook, and they serve the same food as they did when it was Zarro, but they’ve added other stuff to their menu as well. Their menu now features the unlikely mix of Mediterranean, Mexican, and BBQ-type food. So they’re serving up gyros, kabobs, falafels, burritos, fajitas, quesadillas, salads, rotisserie chicken and a lot of the preceding available as wraps. I’ve only been in a couple of times to the new Quickie Grill, and both times I’ve gotten Mediterranean food so I don’t know about the rest of their menu. But I like their gyros a lot. I especially liked their lunch special — a holdover from Zarro — which was a gyro, fries, and a drink for a pretty reasonable price. $ 5.95? $ 6.95? I forget. They had it first time I went in; they’ve since discontinued it for now. I hope they bring it back. And I hope they bring back those pickled turnips or whatever they were. The things that look like cold, wet, pink French fries. The restaurant is pretty modern inside, and very nice and clean. I was always disappointed and surprised that Zarro was never busier; that this wonderful couple and their delicious food wasn’t bringing in more customers. On the two occasions I’ve been to Quickie Grill, it too has been pretty empty. I really hope the new owners make a go of it, because the food is still great and it’s a healthier option than In-N-Out nearby(and the wait for your food won’t be nearly as long!) or Panda Express on the other side.
