While I must admit the food was good, it didn’t justify the painful predicament I was about to find myself in. 2 hours after finishing what I had thought was a lovely meal, I became a pale, shaky apparition of my former self. Shoulders deep in the toilet, I found myself praying to the porcelain gods for a swift death. The one thing that is keeping me in the fight(8 hours later) is the thought of how bad things could have been if I went spicy. Thankfully my better judgement wasn’t completely destroyed. I wish I could say the same for my digestive tract. Light a candle or whisper a pray for me, for I fear the worst is still to come. Tonight is going to be a dark, painful journey. Proceed with caution my friends. You’ve been warned.

One of the Best Indian food in LA. Their Shrimp Biryani cannot be missed. Have them cook it spicy. Malai Kofta, chicken Tikka and Lamb Vindaloo are by far the best I have had in LA. Not many places serve Chicken 65 and their’s is the best.

Best south indian food I’ve had in the US! I lived in south India for 8 years and am no stranger to good dosa, idli, sambhar and chutney. They even have a special tomato chutney from Tamil Nadu. If you’re looking for the real deal this is it. The characters running the place are hilarious too… really completes the experience. And wait till you hear the phone ring. If I lived closer I’d be there every day.

I was very disappointed today when I found out they’re no longer serving the lunch buffet, though I understand that from a business stand point it makes sense. Several people that showed up after we did were also noticeably surprised and disappointed. Still, I have to be honest. They continue to provide the best South Indian food around the west valley and we are never dissatisfied with their service and food. We will surely come back(only) for dinner. Because let’s face it going to an Indian buffet for lunch is always special, specially when you’re bulking and you need to consume your weight in tandoori chicken.

First off the prices are very reasonable for the quantity of food you get as compared to other Indian Restaurants in the LA area. I loved their Dosa and Chicken Curry and the Mango juice. Its a nice, cozy place with wonderful service. People craving south indian food, do visit !!

In one line — Authentic South Indian Food !! The staff(everyone) is so good and welcoming. Hard to find such service in any restaurant. Have tasted most of the items on their menu and all tastes good. Will keep visiting this place and would definitely recommend. Favorite items are Goat Biryani, Fish Fry, Set Dosa with any curry, chettinadu lamb/chicken, Soft Idlis, Lime soda, Madras coffee, etc.

Oh my goat! The food here is incredibly delicious and the service is amazing, they make you feel at home. You have got to try the chicken Tikka masala with the garlic naan. Without a doubt it’s my favorite dish on earth. I also love the Chai tea, smells like heaven. The owner is super friendly, and he also owns the Woodlands Café down the street which is just vegetarian/vegan. I recommend this place highly to anyone who wants something different or just good honest food.

I’ve been to Valley India Café 3 times already and it’s always a great experience! Service is on top, always friendly and welcoming stuff! Inside is pretty cute, relaxing, low light even has big windows all around. Also it has a buffet option for lunch time. around $ 12 and you can put what ever you want on your your plate. Food. Food is great, since I am a vegetarian it’s always a struggle for me to have a variety to choose from. This place has it. And it’s delicious!!! I’ll be back :)

Great south indian food. Loved it. I have only tried the buffet till now. They did not had dosa in buffet and I did see some people expecting it. well I think its good they dont have dosa… dosa lovers like me dnt settle for buffet dosa so if u crave for dosa go for a la carte. Meat lovers there is a good delicious food for you too. Very warm ambience. highly recommed.

That is one of the best places for Indian food in the valley. I mutton biryani and fruit salad served often on Fridays for lunch buffet are se of the best ones. Don’t think of this place as any random buffet place. The food is good, fresh and tasty.

Even one star is too much for such pathetic food and place. Tables are cramped up and all dishes in the buffet just smell the same, with coconut and garam masala. The buffet items are limited and all of them in South Indian flavor. Will never come again and would NOT recommend anybody.

Delicious! All of the wonderfully spiced, intricate flavors that are typical of great Indian fare are found here. Very friendly attentive service. Affordable prices for generous sized entrees and all you can eat buffet.

Just to give you a little background… two brothers: one caters authentic Vegetarian restaurant called Woodlands the other runs Valley India Café that specializes in South Indian cuisine but caters to the carnivores. Makes a lot of sense. idea-wise/business proposition-wise. While the south of India is famous for its staples like Dosas(Crispy crepes) Idlys etc. But there exists some very nuanced cooking styles like TamilNadu-Chettinad, Andhra, North and Coastal Karnataka, Coorgi, Kerala etc. Valley India café tries humbly to give us a flavor of Tamil Nadu/Chettinad cuisine. On ground action: While we were looking at the menu we were promptly provided with water and«ribbon pakoda» with mint chutney. While it is not common practice either in India or here in the US, it was great to see ribbon pakoda’s after eons. At least looked to me like ribbon. Not many know that chicken 65 originated from a «mess» eatery in Tamil Nadu. That was the first thing i ordered based on recommendations from fellow Unilocaler Rashmi. It was fantastic. Some items lose their authenticity: either taste/look to suit the needs of people in a particular region. In this case, the red color and the crispy outside and tender chicken inside with flavors intact reminded me of the chicken 65 we would have back in India. Hands down winner. Thank you :) We ordered Kal dosa or set dosa: this variety of dosa is supposed to be fluffy and smaller in comparison to the regular dosa and 3 dosas stacked one upon the other like a pancakes and typically would have coconut/tomato/mint chutney along with korma — a type of masala curry using south Indian spices on the sides. While these guys don’t serve the korma and only have two dosas stacked, this was pretty much the best dosa i have had in the US. It could have been a lot more fluffier though. but taste was perfect. For main course we ordered the Chettinad chicken, this dish inherently is very spicy and flavorful. It was cooked to perfection, the curry was beautiful and very authentic. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The dish was a little under salted — but right amount of salt has this magical ability to transform a dish and that is exactly what it did, meanwhile the service was fantastic, busboy refilling water at regular intervals. Many would agree that often times Service/Hospitality and Indian restaurants don’t hand-in-hand. Definitely not in this case. I would give extra points for service. We also ordered the chicken fried rice, popular street(Indo-Chinese) food. was great as well. The other brother(woodlands guy) walked in and he was able to recognize my wife.(Sweet gesture) I am going to come back for the buffet and try other al a carte dishes as well. Bottomline: Great«South“Indian Non Vegetarian fare, excellent service great location, ample parking. Go try and let me know.

Best Indian food in Los Angeles(or at the very least, Canoga Park neighborhood). the food is amazing, a little too spicy but that’s perfect for me. their chicken soup is like nothing I’ve ever tasted(with spices i didn’t know existed), in a very wonderful way. for dinner they are usually not very busy so they pamper you. i mostly see Indian families eating dinner so you know it must be authentic. best of all, the plate I order is 4 bucks, you can’t beat that!

Cheap indian buffet for $ 10! Can’t beat the quality of food for the price. The servers are very attentive, filling up waters and getting you what you want quickly. The place is pretty clean and smelled… authentic. :)
