Absolutely amazing time, we drove a couple hours from Ontario CA and it was MORE than worth it. We rented a 2-person quad for 4 hours and we used up almost every minute. The greatest thing about this place is that it’s not a «guided tour» nor is it limited to a tiny space to ride around. You are free to roam and roam for what literally seems endlessly in a most spectacular desert mountain landscape. Our equipment was top notch and the guys that worked there were all very cool, helpful and professional. Highly recommend this place!

I’m still waiting for the refund that the owner states he would process the very next day. He still has not processed the refund as he states in his review. I had to file a dispute with American Express the get the full refund. Mark is a shady person and fully advise not to do business with this person.

Fun time is a great name for this place when their equipment works. We rented a Rhino 4×4 and off the bat, it was great fun. Enough power to haul 2 big guys, the basics for camping a night and thankfully some simple tools just in case we got in a bind. Sure enough, that happened. Fun until about 4 the first day, then the machine would start losing power, sputter for a while and eventually just stall completely. I encourage you all to take 1 minute and read Gevork M’s review below as he was my friend on this trip and if it wasn’t for his mechanical knowledge, we would have been in a real bad situation. From that point on, this machine was just a nuisance, continuing to do the same thing over and over again. Our immediate response was to try to call Fun Time and tell them about what was happening but obviously, no one had any cell service. We set up camp early as we were tired of moving 50 feet every minute before it would sputter and shut off again. The next day was the absolute longest day/ride trying to get this thing back to Fun Time. When we finally got back, Marcos there, who was a nice guy throughout all this said that the oil level may be low and that’s why it would constantly turn off. He added oil and the same thing would happen again. I told him that I wanted a full refund for all the wasted time and ruined trip this machine caused and he handed me a phone to speak with Mark. Mark agreed to refund me for the second day, but absolutely nothing for the first day. He said we should have called as soon as it started, and when I told him we had no service anywhere, that made no difference to him. In his mind his machine worked from when I got it to when he assumed was the end of a day, 4pm. Not even thinking about how absolutely annoyed and unsatisfied we were with his product that ruined our trip. Final thoughts. I was also told that a couple rented a machine from them, it broke down and had to walk 10 miles before Marcos realized they should have been back and decided to go out and search for them. Such poor maintenance on their vehicles IS a real safety concern when you rent from this company. Oh and the best part, I still haven’t seen a refund on my Credit card yet. They will be getting a call from me VERY soon.

I don’t write reviews until I really strongly want to convince people not to waste their time. I have been riding some form of dirt bikes or ATVs for many years. I do all of my own maintenance and understand the machines well enough. The problems with Fun Time started with how long it took us to get on the 250ATV and Rhino 660. Fair enough, there is some process that needs to be completed(paperwork etc), I’m sure the people could move a little faster though. NOW, the big problem, all of their gear and atv’s are basically crap. As other reviewers have mentioned, they do not do any real maintenance on their machines. As long as it starts, they call it good. From the completely worn out condition of their safety gear to the beat up condition of their ATV’s, it’s just terrible. And, they do break down. The Rhino 660 broke down for the entire two days we had it. We had planned to go deep into the hills and camp at night and have some more fun the next day and return to the store. Most of the first day the Rhino was super slow, we all just thought this is how slow they are. Then it started sputtering and not working at all. I took a look at it and saw that the air filter was completely clogged with mud. This made sense because the rhino was covered in mud when we took it. Fine, we cleaned it and took off, still it was slow and just a few minutes later again it was sputtering. Then, we took a look at the fuel filter, sure enough, it was also full of mud. We backwashed it and it cleared up a bit. Then, finally for the first time all day, the rhino started working well. For the rest of the day(about 1 hour, and we were forced to chose a random place to camp since we made NO progress all day) it ran well and went fast and was actually fun! Come next morning, it was again low on power. Cleaning the fuel and air filter again did not help. For the rest of the day all we could do was sputter along back towards Fun Times store. This time it was worst, it stopped all the time and so on. Basically, an absolutely ridiculous situation to be in. Finally, we make it close enough to the store and it wouldn’t go anymore. The guy working there comes by and checks the oil, it’s low, says that’s why it’s not working. Sounded like a load of crap to me and it was, he filled it and still the machine didn’t run. Then we said well, we want a refund, and here is where things just got worse. To make it short, we were on the phone with the owner(he wasn’t there in person of course) for some time. Basically he was saying that we should have called him yesterday when it started sputtering(ignoring the fact that it was not working properly all day anyway). We told him there was no cellphone service anywhere around our location(s), again he ignored this fact. He said since it ‘worked’ the first day, he would refund half of the fee. Ridiculous, I’m sure his greedy self understands that his crappy equipment and ill managed company wasted the time of 4 people who had paid good money to enjoy their weekend. Not to mention that this is a major safety concern! Stranding your customers in the high desert, good one. If you want to go riding ATV’s, you should, it’s amazing, but please look around for ANY other option to rent other than this place. What the owner is doing is putting all the money into his pocket and ignoring the simplest of maintenance requirements. He does NOT value your time or safety.

This is the most fun you can have. The drive from the Valley is about 1.5 hours, but its well worth it. If you are going over the weekend, you can reserve, but during the week its first come, and they have lots of ATV/s and dirt bikes. Its easy and really fun. highly recommended, and believe it or not, great exercise for your arms and legs… if you want to feel good about burning the money it cost.

Literally just finished a rental with these guys. They’re extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The location was also vast with tons of trails to explore. I honestly wouldn’t even bother shopping around next time I want to ATV; I’d come back here in a heartbeat.

Fun time is an understatement! My girlfriends were visiting from out-of-town and we’re always looking for new and exciting experiences and decided to go ATV riding in the desert! It was one of the funnest and memorable things we’ve done together. We paid $ 95 for 2 hours and that was ample time. We drove around donut holes, drove down hills, and I got stuck driving off the road a number of times. What you need to know: 1. If you’re not planning on reserving ATVs, get there early! The minimum requirement for reserving ATVs is for a 4 hour time slot. We drove up there at the break of dawn. Keep an eye out for the dirt bike on the post – it’ll serve as your landmark. 2. They’re open only on weekends, unless you make special arrangements for large groups. 3. There is a $ 500 deposit for the rental – credit/debit cards preferred – this is to ensure that the vehicle returns in one piece. It will be credited back to your account upon vehicle inspection. 4. You do not need to have prior knowledge of ATV driving and they will train you for approximately 15 minutes before you disembark. 5. It’s cold, so dress accordingly. I wore boots and a thick puffer jacket. 6. The facility is equipped with complimentary used gloves, helmets, goggles, chest shields, knee pads and elbow pads for your protection.

Pretty straightforward shop. If you bang up their equipment they will make you pay dealer repair rates«we have to drive it to LA to be serviced by the dealer», then they never repair it. We rented a Rhino that the roll cage was bent out of shape… they said someone ran into the aqueduct and they haven’t had time to fix it. Well there was rust all over the bent bar from where the impact was ages ago… The rest of the Rhino was pretty similar. The fuel filter hadn’t been changed in ages(if ever). It kept stalling when idle. The tailgate was hanging on by a shoe string. We also made a reservation for 9am and the equipment didn’t arrive until 10:23.(Seinfeld episode anyone?) Equipment was filthy. I suppose this is expected… but you’d think they could at least blow it off with an air compressor. The place is ran by a ‘take it or leave it’ mentality. It works, but customers definitely don’t always leave happy. That said, they basically meet expectations; they give you something to ride around in the dirt in.

MAKE A RESERVATIONEVENIFTHEYTELLYOUTHATYOUWONTNEEDTO!!! We got really lucky because they sold out right after us. Most recently we rented a 250 quad from them. Daisy and Juan are really cool, very helpful and have a great sense of humor even though it gets chaotic in there with tons of frustrated people who didn’t make a reservation. Everything is straight forward and no surprises or hidden costs. If you reserve with cash you can save 5% :) We put a $ 500 cash deposit down and when we returned the quad after 24 hours they took the rental amount out of the deposit which makes it easy. I believe my 24 hour rental was about $ 233.00 yea it is pricy but when you dont own your own it’s worth it. Next time we plan to camp near the rental because I would be happy with just a 2 hour rental. I just put around for a couple hours. As for the quad they only had semi automatics but I caught on quick. Juan made sure I understood before I left. Ran fine not the prettiest thing to ride and it had seen better days for sure but it got the job done and I had a blast.

We talked to Mark at Fun Time ATV and he told us that no reservations were required. Big Mistake. We drove from LA on a Saturday afternoon out to the Mojave only to be told that all the ATVs had already been rented. Thanks for the heads up Mark. The staff seemed pretty lackadaisical about the whole ordeal and seemed to play it off that this happens a lot. I’ll be sure to make reservations(as should YOU) next time I want to do a little offroading since it looked pretty fun as we turned around and left.

I rented a Honda ATV and a Polaris ZRZ from Fun Time. Mark was very easy to work with to reserve the vehicles and to make the reservation. I was able to ride only on a weekday, so, for a reasonable additional fee, Mark opened up his business and made special arrangements for me to be his sole client on a certain weekday. Juan, the on-site manager, was professional, knowledgable, nice and extremely helpful! The vehicles were great and the trails are long and fun. I had a wonderful time! I highly recommend Fun Time ATV Rentals to anyone looking to ride an ATV or UTV! Ron Resnick

My boyfriend and I had an itch for a day out in the sun and decided to call up Fun Time ATV Rentals. My boyfriend had rented from them in the past and it was something that he had wanted to do with me. We rented a four seater Polaris for $ 470.00 for five hours. The price included use of safety equipment– helmet, gloves and goggles. I felt like the staff put an emphasis on safety and they would have been accessible if we had run into trouble out on the trails, which we didn’t. They were friendly, especially after our ride, when they wanted to made sure that we had a good time. Make sure you bring a packed lunch, plenty of water, sunscreen and a camera– the desert landscape is gorgeous, especially the vibrant green rocks. Also be sure to stop at the ranger station down the road from Fun Time and purchase a trail map. The map is invaluable as there are so many trails and even with the map, it’s easy to get lost! We had a great day out and are eager to go again.

I went here recently with a group of 6ATV novices and we had a great time. The staff are very patient and good at explaining how to use the ATVs. Despite a thorough talk on ATV safety I still managed to flip my ATV. There was minor damage to the fender but they did not charge us for it. There are a bunch of trails and we got a bit lost but it was relatively easy to find our way back to Jawbone. I can’t wait to go back and explore more. I’d recommend this to anyone as a fun activity, but bring backpacks and food/water because there’s no where to stash supplies on the ATVs.
