Akins Acres Bed and Breakfast

Akins is a very relaxing little spot– I kept thinking of it as the perfect place for a writing residency. The inn features two rooms (Sunrise and Sunset) which are across the hall from each other. Each features a spacious bedroom, large closet, television, fridge, and bathroom. And every morning, a very tasty breakfast is served downstairs (the highlight for me was the homemade granola!). There is also a communal living room downstairs with ample guide books, magazines, board games, and the like, and there is a screened-​in porch where breakfast is served on warmer days (unfortunately, I wasn’t there on a warmer day). Do note two things — first, there is a dog and a VERY lovely cat (indeed, Henry made my stay charming). And second, there’s very little in walking distance of the Akins (in other words, bring a car).

Awesome breakfast. Total comfort and wonderful atmosphere for a nice and relaxing stay. Jim and Marsha know the area like the back of their hands so you will have «google» right there with you…(free wifi is included as well) The breakfast is where its at. Home made everything just like your mom would make it but BETTER! Nikki will keep guard if you have anything left over!
