One of the main factors in rating a restaurant positively, for me, is whether I get the BGs(the bubble guts) or not 20 to 30 minutes after eating. Sorry if that’s gross to you, but hey, them’s the facts. My husband and I went to the Delhi Hut for the first time today. It’s been about an hour, and no stomach issues to report. Awesome. The food was awesome. The dining room wasn’t busy, but they were doing steady carry-outs. We had the samosas, Butter Chicken, and Chicken Korma. The chicken was tender, the spices in each dish were wonderful(and distinct from each other — I’ve been to places where everything tastes exactly the same). Service was pretty good, considering there was only one person handling the dining room and carry-out orders. I think the only criticism I have is that the dining room was a little dark along the windows. We’re new to the area, and it’s been really difficult to find good Indian food, especially after Sitar in Farmington closed a few years ago. Delhi Hut is our new favorite!

This a review for the lunch buffet only. After Ashoka closed, I wasn’t sure which Indian buffet in the area would be my go to place in the Canton area. I believe I have found it. AMBIANCE– while the place is big, it is occupied by huge booths throughout the whole place, so there is seating for about 50−60ish people. TVs on multiple walls usually showing Bollywood films. Definitely not fancy, but about what you might expect from a «typical» Indian restaurant. SERVICE– the few times I have come for lunch, there is only the host/server/cashier working. She is attentive and friendly, and does well to check up on you and make sure you have what you need. MENU– pretty decent variety of vegetarian and meat options. Butter chicken/tikka masala, pakoras, samosas, curry, palak paneer, they got you covered. Mind you some of the dishes swap in and out, they have some standard dishes that are consistently on the buffet. The desserts seem to be rotational too. I’ve had Mango lassi, assorted soft serve ice cream(mango and strawberry) and rice pudding. FOOD– I like that the food doesn’t seem«toned down» for American taste buds. They bring the flavor and the heat on a couple of dishes, and I dig it. I also like the biriyani they have in addition of the standard basmati rice. And they make naan fresh and bring it to your table, so make sure to ask if it doesn’t automatically come out. OVERALL– a nice find. Maybe not a par with some A2 joints, for Canton locals looking to indulge their Indian craving, this is a good place to do that. CELEBRITYRATING– Johnny Zhee

Nice selection of dishes. The spice level here is hotter than I have come across for similar dishes at other Indian buffet lunches. If you like your spice on the high end of medium to to hot than this is the place.

Plays horrific movies with Blood and gore on TV and took a good 30minutes to Change the Tv channel. Well the review should have been about food but we waited 44 minutes because there was huge group. They were severely understaffed. And while our toddlers waited for food the tv was playing a gory south Indian movie with axes flying in peoples faces and chopping bodies. Food was ok. 3⁄5. Waitress poor girl was good and patient.

I went to this restaurant for dinner with my kids, and we ordered vegetable Hakka noodles, butter chicken, rice, naan, gulab jamon and chai. To be honest, all the dishes were acceptable but not as I expected. I was used to go to Ashoka but since it is closed now, I am looking for another authentic Indian restaurant but I did not find one.

The food is pretty good with correlation to the price. I’ve been here about 3 – 4 times so far during the lunch buffet. Service is awesome. Remembers faces of customers. There is always a little change up on the dessert table every time I come but everything else tastes just fine for $ 7.95. Naan is made fresh soon after you sit down. So if you want to have that be the main starch in your diet, don’t aggressively tackle the buffet from the get go.

Went for lunch today, the buffet food were cold, taste was kind of okay. The turn off was the service, we requested to bring some tandoori chicken and gulab jamuns since the tray was empty, but was never delivered. I believe there are many other good asian restaurants in this area so I will not have to worry about coming back here.

I have to agree with some of the other comments. You’ll come here because the food is just delicious. The butter chicken and samosas were delightful. I look forward to coming back here the next time I get a craving for Indian food. It’s worth the drive!

I’ve never been, ordered a korma, which are generally sweet and spicy, but was all salt paste. Not good. At all.

Don’t like the fact they are closed Tuesday. service is inconsistent, Naan sometimes are burnt, and unless I remind them not to. Love the Chaat Papdi but the quantity now is less than they use to serve. Chicken Tikka isn’t bad. I have not sit and eat there, always do a take out. so rating reflects that.

Best in the area. We’ve had both takeout and the weekend buffet and both options were great. Good flavors, spice-heat levels were much higher in the takeout. Buffet variety was awesome. We will definitely be using this venue to introduce our family to Indian food. Lots of bread options(plus fresh dosa to order), pakora, several different veg and chicken dishes(one goat dish as well), fruit, dessert, etc.

Went there on Saturday. Its a good looking place but it was completely empty. After I ate the food, that’s when I knew why no one comes here.

The food at Delhi Hut is just OK. I’ve given it a chance three times, and I don’t think I“ll be back. It’s not nearly as good as Ashoka, and only slightly less expensive, so I don’t anticipate ever choosing to go here again. Indian food is my favorite cuisine, and I always judge a restaurant based on their ability to make my favorite dishes: Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, and Paneer Tikka Masala. I only tried Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken here, and every time they were sub-par compared to what I’ve come to expect from visiting various other restaurants in Canton and Ann Arbor(Ashoka, Raja-Rani, Taste of India Suvai, etc.) If you’re in Canton, I recommend heading to Ashoka Indian Cuisine or Neehee’s instead.

Delhi Hut is severely underrated on Unilocal.Best Indian food in the Canton-Plymouth area. It rivals Ann Arbor for Indian eats as well. The owners know me by now and easily accommodate my serious gluten allergy. They do a great job of keeping any gluten-containing items and utensils separate from a gluten free order, and I’ve never had an adverse reaction after eating here. The service is quick for dine-in and take-out orders. Menu: The Tandoori Mixed Grill is outstanding. I’m also a huge fan of the Chicken Tikka Masala, Chana Dal, Gobi dishes, Vindaloos… I haven’t had a bad or mediocre dish yet. Thanks, Delhi Hut!

It’s ok! Went there for the lunch buffet, less variety. Food was not that great, but everything was clean. Roti/nan was very soft and good.

Lying is the worst of sins and unforgivable when it involves FOOD!!! Yesterday, my family and I placed a pick up order of butter chicken and lamb rogan josh… only to discover the«lamb» was actually BEEF!!! I was duped in the worst way and will never go back to this place. I’ve heard rumors about Indian restaurants using beef instead of lamb due to cost but never experienced it first hand. The entrees were bland with hardly any spice or flavor. Heck I make tastier Indian food. I do not recommend this place to anyone including my worst enemies.

This building has been 4 restaurants in the past 10 years. Coney islands, Chinese or something. The Indian version has been around for a year. But it’s under a new multi family owned management for a couple of months or so. Had dinner there for the first time and got the scoop from the waiter. The staff is new and inexperienced and a bit slow, which is fun to watch. But once you get passed that, the food is great. I have gone back at lunch time to try the buffet which was also great.
