Gobi Manchurian was so good for lunch I considered going back for dinner. ;) Mango Lassi was good, but too small for the price in my opinion. Thoight food prices were fair. Definitely will be back to try more dishes.

Smells so good, pretty packed, pretty modern menus which is nice bc it’s electronic. We asked the person at the cash for recommendations because it’s hour first time here. She recommended the special Guj thali, Dahi Somosa chaat, Gobi Manchurian. We got the sugar cane juice and the rose lassi. Overall the food was pretty good and we would be back for more next time.

Oh God! Cannot stop coming here. I drive 30 miles to grab a bite of Indian street food, once a week. One great drink — Sugarcane juice! Dabeli is recommended over Wada Pav. Pav bhaaji, Undhiyo, Parathas, Chaats… Mouth watering food with flawless cooking. Simply love visiting this place!

The food was very good overall. But when I walked in there was one of the largest menus I have ever seen with very small print on the wall. I just ended up telling the cashier to pick me something. I didn’t realize there were paper menus you could look at or I would have taken the time. Everything we tried was good but very spicy which is understandable I’m just not the best at handling spicy foods. The M6 was very good with 4 different curry samples, a mango yogurt spread, a chickpea salad, and a white sauce which I wasn’t familiar with. Over I would say grab a menu and sit down because there is ALOT to look at.

The food is fantastic, but I’m docking a star because of the indifferent service and the glacial pace the food is delivered. If you’re getting a carryout add 10 minutes onto whatever time you were told your food would be done. Will be back for sure.

So excited to try this place! Try the C13 Dahi Samosa Chaat! The flavor and originality of this tucked in gem is definitely what sets them apart from the rest! The staff is really friendly and helpful! Finally a place with good vegetarian food! Two thumbs up!

Love this place. Everytime I visit my wife, I drive straight to Nehees pick up a dabeli or samosa and a mango lassi and drive back to meet her with any chaat from Nehees. She loves it too. I have visited this place many times now, and each time its been crowded which totally explains how much Detroit suburbs love this place. Very good Indian Street food. My personal favorite is Paav Bhaji and the Bombay Grill Sandwich which reminds me of my college days in India. Indo-Chinese is not as good as some places I have tried here in United States, but South Indian(Dosa, Idli and Wada) Gujrati food(Undhiyo, Dhokla, Thali) and Punjabi(Paav Bhaji, Samosa) and all other street food is just perfect. One thing not to miss out on is the Sugar Cane Juice(which is prepared fresh). I hope they expand some day and open in Minneapolis as well. Update– tried the Dahi ragda chaat, another amazing delicacy. The dabeli I eat here is always the best.

Hands down the best Veg Indian food in Michigan. Has a combo of both Chinese-Indian and traditional Indian dishes. The menu is quite extensive so be prepared to be staring at he menu for a while since decisions will be hard. My favorites: chili paneer, Gobi manchurian, and Mysore masala dosa. Also, FYI, if you want to add a side of one poori, it’s only a dollar! I will say though they have raised the prices a bit, a falooda can cost you $ 6.50and a mango lassi here is small compared to what you pay. Still consider a great place, I am still working through the whole menu!

The food was mediocre. It tasted very salty. But, what made me give it a one star was how sick it made me afterward. It was so bad I had to take the next day off work. This is avoid at all cost place for me.

The only thing keeping me from eating here multiple times/week is a 40 minute drive! The food at NeeHees is PHENOMENAL. I’ve tried at least 10 – 12 different dishes and I enjoyed every one of them. Beware though, when a dish is labeled«spicy» it means«SPICY!» I also tried their Rose Ice Cream and I was blown away. Also spoke with one of the owners and he was very friendly and kind. He said they will be opening a location in Troy(2 miles away from me) by the end of Summer. Take my advice, make a trip out to Neehees. They have something for everyone!

It can be overwhelming to choose an item when you are not at all familiar with the ingredients or food presented. You can NOT go wrong with choosing here– I ended up having W1 which was a vegetable wrap, warm with vegan mayo– YUMMMMM. It came with a spicy yummy soup and two dipping sauces that were all very excellent– was not heavy on my stomach. The service was excellent, with a smile and they were kind enough to provide a book with pictures to help me decide and answer my crazy questions such as is this soup in this small bowl or a dipping sauce. I will def return MANY times! Please try this out– you will love it.

LOVETHISPLACE!!! For newbies to Indian food, you will need to ask lots of questions before ordering. There is not a bad meal on the menu, so if you like Indian flavors and/or vegetarian food, experiment! Staff is friendly, and my take-out orders have always been accurate. Healthy, flavorful and well-prepared. I’m a semi-regular and have tried most of the menu. My favorites are Gobi 65(spicy cauliflower) and Chili Paneer Dry(spicy paneer cheese). Papdi Chaat is delicious also of you are looking for a cold dish. They have a good selection of South Indian and Indian Chinese as well as a wide variety of ice cream flavors. Definitely worth stopping in for a bite. Also love the fact that they are closed on Sundays to allow their employees time to worship and spend with their families. Try it! You’ll like it!

I happened to drive by the huge sign on the highway for this place twice today, so I’m gonna call this destiny. When you first walk into the place, you can tell right away that it’s very popular. It’s full of people and on a Monday night, there was about a 15 minute wait to get a table. The lady who greeted me at the door told me what the best dishes were on the menu, which I really appreciated. The place sells itself on providing Mumbai street food, but there is so much more on the menu. Dishes include favorites from the south of India and Manchurian/Chinese fusion food. I can tell you right now, I’ve been a lot of Indian restaurants in my life. And usually they specialize in maybe one of those three things. I just took up first bite of my sambar & utapam, and it’s just as tasty as the restaurant is adorable. Go. Drop what you’re doing & go!

Best vegetarian Indian street food place I’ve found in Michigan so far. That’s a big statement, I know, but it’s true! Neehee’s is wonderful. The menu is 100% vegetarian(bonus), it’s Indian street food(my favorite) and it’s spicy(warning!). If you’re new to indian food, give the chole batura a try. It’s a staple street food dish with chickpea curry served with fluffy bread called batura. I always go the South Indian route and get a dosa wrap sandwich. Dosas are like a savory crêpe and it’s filled with a potato curry and served alongside sambar(spiced lentils) and chutneys for dipping. And no meal is complete without a mango lassi! Seating can be, and usually is an issue during the weekends. There is no wait staff and language can be a barrier at times(not for me but I have friends who have told me this), so if you have to wait for a table it can seem somewhat chaotic. Takeout can sometimes be the best option here since then you don’t have to sit in the loud space. Price has gone up over the years, but the portions are large so you can share, and you can always take home. Many of the dishes are spicy, so be prepared for that and if that isn’t your thing, ask them to tone it down for you.

Neehee’s deserves to take all my stars, plus maybe about 8 more. Listen to me people, get passed the long lines, casual ambience, and just go there for the food. I am obsessed with chaat(Indian street food). Outside of the motherland, this place probably serves the most delicious, authentic chaat you’ll find. I brought my parents here in a snowstorm(my dad almost turned around) and they were pleasantly surprised and pretty pleased we had made the trek. Prices are great, portions are generous, and service is prompt, even when it’s busy. I haven’t tried the south Indian menu items yet(dosa, etc) but that’s next on my bucket list. Some of the chaat items(Raj Kachori, Ragda patties) can be slightly spicy, so beware. Nevertheless, don’t be shy and order anything off the menu, it’s probably going to be lip-smacking delicious. Be adventurous!

Would love for them to expand, so the wait was shorter… Amazing food, and great service. I have been looking all over metro Detroit for this type of establishment! I am not as familiar with Indian food, so I asked a few people in line for recommendations. Everything my party ordered was absolutely amazing. This will become a normal destination for my fiancé and myself.

Very much disappointed with this place. Highly unprofessional, and discriminatory customer service. The waitress doesn’t know how to behave and talk to the customers. She still believe that she can act like a boss in India. A place of bad employees. I had requested more room in between my table and the table next us since my son was sitting on my lap. I thought my son should not be a problem for people sitting next to our table. I was told if I can’t sit; I should leave! The waitress was so rude! She doesn’t deserve a job in any restaurant. Management has to provide a proper customer service training to their employees. I sent a written complaint to the appropriate authority. Whenever some stores are getting more businesses, they are getting proud, and customer service is becoming poor.

Below average Food for the amount of time you spend waiting to be seated. Over-rated, overblown… Very Poorly(micro) managed. Seating here is A BIGISSUE, don’t know whose idea was to buy those stupid ugly chairs. Those chairs take a lot of space. Food is below average, nothing special for the price they charge or you pay. This place is a total choas from the time you approach the place and enter. Try going to the washroom/restroom and take a peek thru the glass pane inside… The place is DIRTY, health hazard. Better options available in the area for a cheaper price. Never going back. I am done with Neehee’s,

The place looks pretty clean when you walk in, but it reminded me a lot of a food court. There are big light up menus at the ordering counter, and when you place your order you get a little vibrating number to let you know when your food is ready. There is no table service, so help yourself to silverware. As for the food, we ordered the special guji thali that had 3 curries, 3 rotis, guj dal, rice, veg cutlet, salad, raita, papad, and fruit shrikhand. I love getting thali because you get a variety, but it drove me nuts that I had no idea what I was going to get or what was included in the thali for sure as I didn’t see a description on the menu. All of the curry dishes had a very pleasant amount of spiciness to them, but frankly they all tasted overly similar to me. The veg cutlet was my favorite thing we ate, and while I didn’t dislike anything, it didn’t make me as excited as most indian food does. I don’t know if this is just because it’s from a different region than I’m used to or not. It was alright, but I’d rather stick with some of the other places I’ve been to where the food has a bit more variety of flavor.

Seriously i have never been to a place like this. was really frustrating. we went as a the place was small we couldn’t get to sit near. our group was scattered but we are okay with that too… the lady there showed us side by side chairs… we asked her very politely to join the table… she seriously said NO in rude way. but still we were very patient and thought okay while we were eating, we thought to share as in the next table my brother sat… he didn’t complete his food… the lady came and asked me are u done… i said no as we are in the middle of eating our lunch… she again came and told my brother go and sit in the other chair i mean some other place far from us and that too in rude way… he felt bad and went out… as he is in middle of the lunch… this is so mean… i wonder why these people run business when they cant respect or treat properly!! Disgusting !!

As in the name its really good for Indian street food. But you cannot except the same in all other items. One main issue here is getting seated. In evening times this place gets really busy. As I have experienced it earlier I was earlier and got seated within minutes. Next thing I can’t say it’s a pro or con. Self service. You order and get the items when pager is ringing. That’s good you can order based on what you need again but the problem is line gets busy and it may take a while to get your items. I pretty much ordered everything together and got drinks/dessert as to go. Ordered Delhi chaat, Gobi 65, Manchurian rice, idly vada, chole bhatura and ice cream milk shake. Delhi chaat was excellent and quantity is good. Gobi 65 is too spicy. Manchurian rice and chole bhatura are good. I felt rice was a little dry. Idli vada is a okay one.

Need a quick snack? Go here. Want a delicious Indian meal? Go here. Never had Indian food and want to try? Again, go here. I live in Livingston County and skip Ann Arbor for this place. Food is affordable and I have found myself going more than once in a day. Only complaint is they need a bigger venue. It can be empty or shoulder to shoulder packed on a moments notice.

We were visiting friends in Detroit and decided to have lunch at this place. We have a 2 year old who has his own lunch time, with errands and other things we were running late and our 2 year old was hungry so we picked up fries from McDonalds for HIMONLY(not knowing how long the wait will be at this restaurant) before going to the place. Well when we got at the restaurant, the wait time wasn’t much but when we were about to be seated, one of the owners, Vrijesh told us «no outside food» to our two year old. We tried to explain to him that he is a two year old eating fries at HIS lunch time, two year old doesn’t have the capability to wait for a meal at a restaurant and when they are hungry they want food. His response was«we have kid’s menu.» He didn’t have any understanding that two year olds can’t wait for their kids menu and they eat what they like, not things on their menu. Anyways, so we walked out of the restaurant because the OWNER of this place doesn’t have the simple understanding of a toddler’s need. If you can’t be a compassionate or decent human being with understanding of what a TWOYEAROLDTODDLER requires, I must say you are just a SUPERGREEDY person. We understand the«NOOUTSIDEFOOD» policy for older kids and adults and we certainly respect that, but applying this policy to a two year old was just insane, inhumane and greedy. Doesn’t deserve any stars if they can’t be a humble human beings!!!

Excuse me do you have 3 cents… rofl I ordered couple faloodas… dosa. vada…around $ 27. A typical falooda comes with vanilla ice cream. after ordering and paying… I asked the other girl to give double cookie instead of the vanilla. We were waiting at the table and the pager buzzed, I went to pick up the faloodas and the women was like since u changed the flavour it is extra 53 cents. I didn’t have cash so gave her card then she was like«we dant accept card less than $ 1. I said I don’t have cash she was again like… «I dont know we don’t accept card». I was are you kiddin me… We ordered $ 27 woryh food and she could have given it for free. Then couple more girls joined her and they started have a discussion. I was like wat? Then my wife ran from the table and she had few quaters and gave 50cents and then I thought finally we can have the falooda. But then comes epic hilarious comment from one of the«Excuse me do you have 3 cents »? … Haha… rofl. My wife got pissed off and she gave her another quater and said keep the change as tip for the wonderful service. It took me a while to stop laughing.

So, I’ve been coming to this place since they opened, and really have always thought highly of the food. The chole is always buttery and rich and the bhatura(chole bhatura) is hit or miss, but when they do take a minute to give u a good piece of it, it’s soft, rich, moist, and likely one of the tastiest morsels of bread u can find. The puri bhaji is also tremendous, as is the special bhel, gobi, fried rice, and the gujrati thali or mini thali are just amazing samplers of South Indian food. The weakness here has always been the service. They’ve always been unpredictable in terms of hours, they never answer their phone and when I say never, I truly mean that I don’t know anyone out of the many who’ve dined here who was able to get through, the cashiers and line attendants talk about u in Indian and then look at you with little giggles and assume that they are slick and think u don’t know what they’re saying and can’t read their body language, and there is and overall sense of rudeness and lack of customer importance in the staff. These problems come from the top down, and it’s pretty obvious that the staff follow the lead of the management team who I’ve seen do all the above on multiple occasions and have heard of the same behavior from the many people I know that patronize them. I think the most nauseating thing I’ve experienced is their impatience if u ever approach the counter without knowing exactly what u want. They’ll pretty much say the first thing they see if u ask for a recommendation and won’t bother to take a minute to see what u like and try match u up with something that u might like. Finally, the dining room and approach to the order counter is always a pain to navigate. Despite having two doors they could direct traffic flow through in circular fashion, they only use one door for entry and exit and it’s always packed tight with customers. You have nowhere to sit while waiting for your food, and if u even think about sitting in a seat, someone will rudely ask u to get up bcz they need the seat for a customer, and then proceed to leave it vacant(25 min today while I waited) instead of letting u rest a minute while waiting for your food. I love the food I’ve had here, but as the many before me who have complained about his place have pointed out, there is nothing else in this place that makes it a good experience. I certainly find myself frequently craving a chole or puri, but then I consider what it takes to get those things, and I’m just going to take my mo eg elsewhere. The loss of my business won’t really put a dent in them, but I suspect that with the growing tide of people who feel offended by staff rudeness that I don’t have to do much except stand back and let them get half the business they would’ve had if they addressed the above problems. Too bad, bcz I usually consider food to be 3 starts out of 5 and the other 2 are for service and staff, but this place stands out as one of the most rude and challenging interpersonal environments I’ve experienced. The ding in the food is because of the inconsistency. As a warning, I suggest you check your bread if u order a chole bhatura bcz they will often refry old bread that will come out crisp and oily, instead of soft and hearty. I’d rather get up in front an auditorium of my peers and present falsified research than to have to deal with them ever again. Btw, don’t assume it’s ok to check your carry out to make sure everything’s there and properly prepared. You won’t hear the end of it from the people at the counter and they will act as if you are peeing on their floor. They would’ve had five stars if I could just drive up and pick up food I ordered on the phone, but the logistics manager, and staff managers are clueless and would rather stroke their egos than to do the right thing.

I’m writing this before even tasting the food because I was disgusted. We called in an order, excited because this is supposed to be a good place. During pickup we find out that they took down our order incorrectly. Usually, no big deal, right? WRONG! They try to guilt us into buying it! Saying«I repeated the order and you said yes.» You have to pay for it all and you can order what you wanted. This is outrageous. I insisted that o was not going to pay for something I did not order. At least that went through and I was not forced to buy something I did not want. On the other hand, when I then wanted to order what was missing, I was refused there too! I hope that the food we ended up with is good, and if it is outstanding I will write another review. If not, well … Don’t go here for the experience of it.

Pros: Best Indian food you will eat outside India. Menu is large. Fully vegetarian is a plus. Place opens until relatively late. Service is quick. If you like Indian food, it is not to be missed. Cons: place is super super crowded most of the time and their crowd management is not very effective. You will need to get up and get each item of your order separately. Place gets pretty loud — especially kids running around in that small space. Overall: go for the food not for the experience. As long as you focus on the food and not on the chaos around you — you will have a good time.

I love Neehees so much. There is so much on the menu and guess what? I can eat all of it because it’s all vegetarian! Fantastic. I’ve been visiting Neehees pretty regularly since I work nearby. I will usually call ahead for carry out versus eating in because it can get pretty jammed during the lunch hour rush. I have been slowly eating my way through the menu. My go-to meal is the Dosa Sandwich Wrap(W11 I think). It’s super filling and flavourful — not spicy — so if you’re new to Indian food this is a good place to start. The Aloo Tikki is also great… but really I don’t think you can go wrong here. The majority of the food is priced from $ 5 – 9 so it’s easy to try a couple dishes on each visit. It’s fun taking omnivores to Neehees because they’re always surprised at how flavourful and filling this vegetarian food is. My ONLY qualm with Neehees is they keep raising their prices. Some menu items have increased by $ 1 — my favourite sandwich being one of the more expensive meals. Lunch can run you $ 15.

I’ve been here once with my sister and we FEASTED. We had no idea what we were ordering, and I can’t recall the names, but it was all SO good. We definitely had one cauliflower dish which was my favorite. I highly recommend the gobi cauliflower– it was spicy but so good. We also tried a wrap which was OK. Samosas were excellent and the dipping sauce for them was a great addition. Mango lassi was THEBESTIVEEVERHAD. I can’t wait to go back. I am rating this 4 starts instead of 5 because the place was overly crowded with no where to sit. Maybe I need to go back in a weekday instead.

The BEST Indian food I have EVER eaten! I have only been twice because this place is a 45 min drive from my house. A good friend of mine dragged me here saying the food was as close to what she use to get when she lived in India. Everything is vegetarian and while I’m not I still enjoyed the meal imminsley. Everything I had was awesome. It’s also not too spicy. I love spicy food but I have a very low tolerance for it and was able to enjoy all of my dishes.

Why Neehees, well if you want the most confusing menu and you want to keep jumping up and down to get each item of your food every time the buzzer go’s off and if you want a disorganized and dirty dining room, well then this place is for you. I just don’t get it «Indian street food» give me a break, next time I will pass, and I like Indian. I would much rather have a traditional restaurant with a waiter that brings you your food cks on you and fills your water when you need more. For me Neehees was expensive and more trouble than it’s worth.
