Terrible food. Dry and flavorless. Wait staff was nice when they came over. Got the clearly canned«fresh fruit» and could only finish a bite before pushing it away

Traveling from Pigeon Forge back to the Charlotte area on Mothers Day we decided to stop here and have a great mothers day late lunch. Right off the interstate. Low and reasonable prices. We got the prime rib dinner and blossom appetizer. Was not very crowded considering the occasion. But everyone was pleasant and polite. My only negative would be the speed in which our food was served. We felt rushed. our salad was served first with bread. Then the appetizer came before we were ¼ done with salad. and before the salad was ½ finished came our entrees. Ive worked in restaurant service a long time ago, but there was difficulty in firing our meal in a order that was expected. This is why they did not receive 5 stars. I felt so rushed. we packed up the majority of everything we had(we finished the salads). and got on our way. We did receive a free entrée coupon on next visit for being moms, that was a very nice thing for them to do. If traveling on I-40 this is worth a stop for a QUICKMEAL

I had 8oz. Prime Rib, Baked Sweet Potato with brown sugar and butter, Salad with ranch dressing, rolls, half of a battered onion, and a sweet tea. At a reasonable price! The food was so good our waiter was very pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed. He had a smile on his face each time and had a very pleasant tone. The only down fall was when I walked I heard my shoes stick to the floor, The bathrooms were ok but need just a little cosmetic makeover to make it more appeasing to the eye. Great food and very friendly staff a must try!

We stopped here because of the RV parking. The place was pretty empty on this Wednesday evening and we were seated right away. The food was tasty and arrived promptly. I had ordered the blackened tilapia with mashed potatoes and a dinner salad. When it arrived there were 2 large pieces of fish and they were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Everyone else was happy with their food except that the onion petals were a bit strong. The service was also pleasant and courteous. We would stop here again.

My family and I arrived a little before noon, and there were only a few people. We were seated immediately, and enjoyed a good meal. Drink and appetizers were served quickly, the main course a little slower than expected. But still not bad timing. The waitress was very nice, and checked on us frequently. Everything was cooked to expectations, nothing raw or burnt.

Sagebrush is right by the interstate, which will give you an idea about the fare — easy and predictable for travelers on their way to wherever. I try to hard to like this place because it reminds me of steakhouses of my younger days, days long gone, as should be steakhouses like this. The cleanliness of the Canton, NC, restaurant leaves something to be desired. Inside is okay but if you sit by a window, there’s about 5 years of dirt and cobwebs right outside on the windows and windowsills. Not very pretty. The food is so ordinary that I usually just order chili. I mean, I don’t know if it’s made on-site but all they have to do is heat it up and serve it, so I would happy enough. Last time I was there(10÷31÷15), the bowl of chili didn’t even *pretend* to be warm, let alone hot. So it probably sat around waiting to be nuked, and even that task wasn’t done. The«loaded fries» were a glob of most likely frozen, probably microwaved, french fries with a bunch of globbed cheese and bacon on top. I’m happy that only cost $ 1 so I didn’t lose much there. Our server was enthusiastic and chatty and a pretty good guy, as they always are when we visit. Absolutely no problem with the staff. My husband likes the food, which is why I go, but I’m definitely not a fan. It’s boring road food for travelers who can’t find anything else. That’s the best I can say — I probably have reviewed this place before, but this is my definitive review.

***original rating 4 stars***My husband and I stopped here Sunday night on our way home from Cherokee with his mom and uncle. It was late around 8pm. We were seated quickly. The first thing out of the waitress’s mouth was«we are out of all steak selections except tips and chopped.» It’s a STEAKhouse?! We placed our orders. My husband’s uncle is diabetic and I do low carb so we pretty much ordered alike. The waitress was not very friendly at first and acted like she was bothered by having to wait on us. She wouldn’t even answer our questions(dietary concerns.) When she came with our food, she said they were out of a lot of things that my family had ordered. She was very apologetic and ended up offering them an extra premium side at no charge. She seemed a lot nicer then! The food was outstanding. Will definitely go back. Would have given 5 stars if the waitress’s attitude was better at first and they weren’t out of things. **update** the owner/manager of the Sagebrush contacted me through Unilocal and apologized for being out of steak. Sent me a gift card and a nice note. It’s nice to see management do what they can to make the customer’s experience the best possible. Too many businesses have gotten away from making things right with their patrons. I definitely recommend visiting this steakhouse. This is my reasoning for increasing to 5 stars

I love working here again because I am made for the Prep. I only work 3 days a week, but I do private cooking and catering from home. I do big & small events through my Church and I love people all kinds of people even grumpy ones. It is good to take care of them and make them smile. Everyone deserves a hot meal at the end of their day even if that day is at 8 in the morning. I’ve always been thrown in the fire as a cook I can honestly say I’m a better person because of it. 32 years of cooking prepping and starting all businesses in the food and beverage hospitality business. I’ve turned dive bars into«LIVE» bars no star places into 5 stars. Hole in the walls into plaques on the walls. I’ll turn a greasy spoon into spacious rooms. I work with people I like and maybe in the near future they can work with me. I consult now please visit me so I can do the same for you.

Best food in the local area. I travel over 200 nights a year and always look forward to eating here when in the area. I always eat at the bar. Best service in the house! Bartenders are always there for you. Don’t know about the rest of the restaurant service.

I was excited that I didn’t have to eat at another fast food chain while on my road trip. Walking in, it’s a fairly delightful atmosphere with country music playing at a good level. Service was really good; they kept our drinks filled and were very pleasant. The food is where they kind of lost me. My wife and I ordered chili, and that was actually good. For dinner my wife ordered some potato skins and lime chicken bites. I ordered a cowboy steak medium rare. Her food, which was fried was standard, but my steak was way under cooked. Not a problem, I sent it back and they cooked it again. The second time it came out medium rare but the steak was just so bland. They call themselves a «steak house,» and there was like no seasoning or flavor on my steak. My baked potato also tasted like it had been baked yesterday. I would give this place a chance again I just wouldn’t order a steak again. Friendly and good service though!

Now I looked at the past reviews and the stars must have been aligned for my family as this was our first visit ever to a Sagebrush restaurant. The food was great and the service was quick and friendly. Maybe we just caught them on a good day. I ordered a blackend grilled chicken sandwich and was cooked very well. We also had potato skins for apps which were also made very well. If going through the area again I wouldn’t hesitate to try them again.

Worst meal I have had in a long time. Wait time was very long. The place was almost empty, my meal was so bad I left and went to the Taco Bell down the road. Don’t waste your time. Apparently it common, the waiter didn’t even ask if my meal was bad, he just said let me take that off your bill.

Our two-man Brevard Video crew had a late lunch and were starved. We saw the sign on the Interstate and decided a steak would do the trick. We were greeted by the friendly manager and served drinks and hot garlic/cheese bread(mmmmmm) right away. I ordered the rib-eye and Kat ordered Salmon. Both were outstanding and the meal made even better by Kerry’s excellent service. When we return to the area, this will be a stop for sure.

I am generally not one to complain, but. .. The experience of eating –if you can call it that — at Sagebrush Steakhouse this evening was awful. When we arrived, country music was blaring into the parking lot from the outside speakers, and it was no quieter inside. That set the tone for what followed. There is no fresh fish or seafood at all, according to our sweet young server, because it would spoil. What, we’re a few hours from the Atlantic, sitting amidst countless rivers and lakes, and you don’t even have a catch of the day? I know it’s a steakhouse, but if you’re going to offer several fish and seafood items, one or two should be fresh. My husband ordered a cup of chili as one of his side dishes, but they kept it under the warming lights and planned to bring it along with his entrée, until he asked for it. He ate about half of it, and said it was average. My side salad, on the other hand, did arrive in proper sequence, and while it was nothing superb, it was definitely edible, and a very large serving. The entrees arrived while we were still eating said chili and salad. A few minutes later, our sweet young server returned to give us more water, and asked how everything looked. Not how it tasted, but how it looked. I’d not yet tasted either my baked sweet potato or my medium rare, 6-oz. sirloin, but we said fine. The sweet young server did not return until much later, after I’d set my plate at the edge of the table. Even then, she did not ask how we liked the food. As she was picking up the plate, I pointed to the barely-eaten sweet potato and said, «That was disgusting.» Both she and my husband looked at me in surprise. I told her it was extremely overcooked. Her response? «I’ll let the cook know.» Not, «I’ll take it back and get you something else.» What was wrong with the sweet potato? It had obviously been baked some time earlier, probably days, and had probably sat in the refrigerator or freezer until I ordered it, at which time it was reheated, and served with a scoop of butter dusted with brown sugar. By the time I received it and took one of my two bites, it was the consistency, and probably the taste, of baby food. At least the steak was edible, though actually a bit undercooked. But it was sirloin, after all, not known for being a stellar cut of beef. My husband’s grilled chicken was mediocre, properly cooked but rather bland. When the bill arrived, we were charged the full amount. At the very least, I expected to be comped the menu cost of the sweet potato. Needless to say, the tip was much smaller than the 20%+ that we usually leave. We will never go back to this poor excuse for a steakhouse.

Keep driving… service was horrible and the food sucked. Your better off going to Chili’s or Apple bees. We were seated and no waitress ever came over while 2 waitresses kept on walking by. I finally went back to the 3 hostesses and told them. Finally the one waitress that kept on walking by us came to us and apologized and blamed the hostesses. Everything took forever to get, rolls, drinks, even the ketchup! All we got were hamburgers and the chili was gross. It seems more like locals go there so if you are driving by on the highway(which we were) keep looking.
