Shane’s Rib Shack

Terrible experience no ribs or salad dressing on a Sunday evening. Black flies on burger will never go back to this mismanaged franchise. Too bad always enjoyed other locations.

My boyfriend and I came to this location STARVING. We had been driving around trying to find something to eat, and finally saw Shanes. I convinced him to go because I had a great experience at the location closer to our house, but he had never been. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the sweet girl standing by the counter. She is the ONLY reason this review gets a star. The woman next to her at the registee actually took our order, but the little girl had a big smile and was very sweet. My boyfriend wanted one of their combo plates, but wanted to exchange one of the meats out for a smoked chicken. He said that he’d pay whatever the cost. That’s what he wanted. Now, him and I both work in the food industry. He has managed a restaurant for the last 10 years and I have been serving tables for the last 3. When a guest asks for something specific, whether it is already priced or not, you can always make it happen. There are of course some limitations, but if something is not menu priced management can easily make an open sale and charge the customer an added cost for their choice. 99% of customers will oblige because THATS WHAT THEY WANT. I’ve had customers that have paid 25 $ extra for 6 Salmon filets cooked at exactly 365 with his blend of seasonings that he brings from home in a plastic bag with a side of only the DEEP red strawberries instead of getting the normal portion of 2 smoked salmon filets with 2 regular sides. RESTAURANTS CAN ALWAYS MAKE IT HAPPEN. Instead this woman looked at us with the most eat-​shit look she could have conjured and said, «um, no. We can’t.» So my boyfriend asks why? Explains that he will, again, pay whatever it is for his smoked chicken in place of the chopped chicken. She just now shakes her head and slumps over on the counter. My boyfriend is already ready to leave because of this womans ignorance. But I convinced him to try the combo plate the way it comes. So, we pay and sit down. 11 other people came in behind us. (Yes i counted) and every single one of them was cashed out, seated, and given food before us. I started a timer after 20 minutes of waiting. When some food finally reached our table, it had been 28 minutes. And only my food came out! So my food sat there for another 5 minutes before his came. My food was pretty good. Chicken tenders were juicy but sides were a little stale. My boyfriends food on the other hand was pitiful. His chopped chicken was ice cold, and dry. His ribs were as tough as beef jerky, he asked if the potato salad was mustard base and they said it was not. Turns out it IS. And he didnt even eat his green beans because he was so frustrated. We ended up sharing my meal. We paid 30 $ for this meal. I consider that 30 $ wasted and we will never return.

We had never been to a Shane’s before, but this is a great alternative to fast food. It’s quick service food. Staff is friendly and helpful, food is hot and decent portions. Spouse and I like different BBQ sauces and we are both happy here. Note that the meat is cooked in sauce, if you prefer BBQ more smoked meat and add sauce, this isn’t the place. Ribs are good. Ask for the family meal deal if you plan to order a lot. My family of 6 can eat for under $ 30 and that’s huge. But ala carte will cost us double that.

Salads great! BBQ awesome as it should be for calling itself a rib shack. The chicken tenders are actually one of my favorite things on the menu. The sweet tea is on point as I don’t trust many establishments sweet tea. The sides are awesome as well.

My son had a baseball tournament in this area and we had 35 minutes to kill between games. I saw Shane’s was 2 miles away and thought let’s grab some sandwiches to go. We placed our order (2 sandwiches, fries and Mac and cheese) nothing complicated. Was told it would be 10 minutes. 10 went by, 15 and at 20 I asked about it. They asked for my name, but nobody asked for it when I placed the order so they had no idea what happened. Waited 5 more minutes and was told there were still 2 orders ahead of us. It’s a bun with BBQ on it, how long could it possibly take. I finally had to ask for a refund because I was going to miss the game. Even that took 10 minutes. As far as the food goes I have no idea, I never got any.

We moved here from Texas and are in dire need of some good BBQ. So Shane’s Rib Shack was ok. Ribs were tender, but the best part was their MustardBBQ sauce. I don’t know how they make it but it was the bomb. The baked beans were pretty good as well as their potato salad. Because the ribs are slow cooked and not smoked there was a lot of fat on the ribs. They were tender but limited on flavor. Still really looking for that dry rubbed smoked meat.

Never been to a Shane’s I didn’t like and this is no exception. Food is perfectly seasoned with the right amount of smoke through the meat. Portions are large and satisfying. Bbq is never cheap for GOOD Q, but this is the perfect blend of great Q for the $. Love my Shane’s.

It has been a while since I have been to this location but I have to say, that for the money, this Shane’s just isn’t cutting it anymore.
I took my 12 yr old daughter for a quick lunch on Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was somewhat busy. The staff was courteous which is a plus since they are typically a bunch of teenage kids …
We ordered the 2 meat plate, my daughter had the ribs and I had the ½ chicken, we got beans and side salad for sides and I ordered a pint of the Brunswick stew. First of all, if you order to eat in, they bring you the stew in a Bowl … there is no way that holds a full pint of stew. Next, the chicken and ribs tasted like they had been boiled. I know that is sometimes done to ensure the meat fully cooks but doesn’t burn but this was too much.
Don’t think we’ll be heading back to Shane’s any time soon.

Food was good. Chicken tenders are huge and good for a chain restaurant. The chopped chicken was juicy but needed a little flavor. Chopped chicken portion was small. Chicken finger portion was ok because the chicken tenders are huge. The sauces were ok — nothing to write home about.
Service needs a little work. They need to provide a little information to first time guest (such as what types of sauce they have for chicken tenders and which salad dressings they have). Also, give more sauce for an order of chicken tenders since they are so big. One tiny little package isn’t enough for three huge chicken tenders = not doing so seems kind of cheap on your part. Overall not to bad — just need to pay attention to details.

Great bbq for being a «chain». The ribs are always on point and the mac and cheese never disappoints. We eat at this location regularly and the staff is always very cheerful and professional.

The staff and management here are more than accommodating. This was our first trip to this location, and while we had a slight issue, it was cared for without delay. The manager took time to personally visit our table and offer us complimentary dessert.
Shane’s gets a rave review from me!

The staff here is friendly and the food comes out rather quickly. For what Shane’s is it is a bit pricey. I don’t mind however because the food really is good. They have a bunch of sauces to try out something that seems to be a thing of the past at other joints. I like Shane’s for their consistency and their portions. We usually spend around 20 dollars for 2 people so really that isn’t breaking my bank… I know you can find cheaper bbq. Thing is with Shane’s every time I go I know what to expect. =)
