Barney E Selph, DDS

I have been going here for my entire life. People compliment me on my teeth all the time and Dr. Barney Selph can be thanked for a lot of that. He is very friendly, funny, and makes you feel safe and comfortable with getting your teeth worked on. He is knowledgable with over 35 years of experience. He is always fantastic at explaining the options for the procedure including the pros and cons of each option so that you feel informed and comfortable making a decision. He will also recommend the best course of action for your price range.
I arrived at the office at 12:50 for my 1:00 pm appointment. I was warmly greeted by the receptionist and was promptly seated in the chair. Dr. Selph quickly struck up a conversation while preparing for my procedure. To my dismay, he told me he would have to use a needle to numb the area where he would be drilling. I am not a big fan of needles but he assured me I wouldn’t feel a thing. He continued the conversation, and I didn’t feel the needle at all– it was incredible. I asked him how he did that and was quick to joke that he had «mad skills» then explained it’s based on the gate theory of pain. He worked quickly through the procedure warning me of any sensations I would feel. He would also periodically stop and ask if I was experiencing any pain or discomfort. I never felt any pain and was very happy with the results. After the procedure I got my teeth cleaned by the hygienist Pam. She was very knowledgable and precise. She informed and demonstrated how I could improve my hygiene. Overall I was very satisfied with the visit and will come back again in six months and will recommend Dr. Selph to anyone who wants to have a pleasant dentist visit.
