The Twisted Lobster

Not bad, but not great. I have tried this place twice now. First time I got the lobster ravioli. It was OK. Price was reasonable. They use the same supplier as fish tales and the ravilolli was the same, but the sauce with asparagus is better (and they put huge chunks of lobster in the sauce at fish tales).

Very nice little restaurant. I had the lobster roll. Unfortunately it really wasn’t feeling enough I had to order a second roll without the bread. They were very nice and accommodating but maybe they need to change the menu so they can have a larger lobster amount without having to order two tails and two sides!!!

2^nd time trying. Still horrible. Ordered whole belly clam platter this time. Delivery. 18 $ for 6 clams and the rest fries. No tarter or lemon as requested. Tasted like old grease. Waste of money

OMG!!! I finally found the «best» lobster bisque ever. Twisted Lobster is a treasure! We all ordered something different. Everything was great. Gumbo (yum) the arugula salad, and the calamari, to die for!
The restrooms are even spotless! When I return from Chicago next, this will be a destination!

Grabbed some takeout here to bring home to family. Lovely staff welcomed me and took my order promptly. Lobster roll was tasty but a bit salty. Coconut shrimp was good and mom declined the sauce because it was not needed. Wontons were great especially with the vinegar sauce. The hush puppies were devoured immediately. Delish

I enjoyed a bottle of wine with dinner. The twisted bread appetizer (free Unilocal offer) was good. Flakey crescent roll dough stuffed with cheese and marinera for dipping was enjoyed by all. I had the fish and chips. The portion was adequate and tasty. The downside is the service was so freaking slow. Got my dinner salad after my meal. All the members in my party got slow service. Not sure I’ll be back.

Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat. I had the lunch special ($ 8.50 as of this writing) of a lobster roll. I have never had a lobster roll. It was offered in mayo or hot butter. I got the butter. Plus I chose the house made tater salad as my side.
First I must warn you, if you have a BIG appetite this is not for you. I was given a hotdog style roll sliced in half with a couple of pieces of lobster on each (see pic). OK. I dipped my roll in the hot butter. HHmmm all I really tasted was the roll. Also unfortunately the roll was a bit burnt. I separated the lobster from the roll and just dunk it in the butter with a bit of squeezed lemon. Now the lobster was outstanding fresh and tasty. BUT, the roll just defeated tasting the lobster and the portion barely filled my tummy.
I had what I was told house made potato salad. It was fine BUT again for me it had WAY to much mustard for my taste buds.
The staff, Kristin, my server (how politically correct not waitress as it should be) did an outstanding job answering my questions and what not.
Over all my experience was good except for the above mention issues.

After seeing other great reviews, I decided to stop by and give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised on how great the food was. I ordered the ceviche on the advice from the Waitress and was blown away. The salmon and Tilapia was outstanding. For my entrée, I ordered the «Codwich”(Cod Sandwich) and was completely surprised. I figured it would be a filet o’ fish dock off, I was Completely wrong. Some of the best breading I have had on a cod sandwich. Price seem great for the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the staff. Definitely going to be a normal stop.

Amazing food. Lobster Mac was unbelievable! Service was excellent and prices were very reasonable. No fishy taste to the seafood, definitely fresh! Can’t wait to come back.

The lobster bisque a is some of the best I’ve ever had. The twisted calamari appetizer is so so good.
The seafood pasta and the sauce is a must try. Service is outstanding. The atmosphere well let’s say it needs some work.

I wasn’t upset when they messed up my order. Probably the best thing about my visit! $ 18 (each) for a quarter cup of celery salad with a sprinkle of what might have been real lobster on a small hot dog bun (could taste only celery). My daughter’s kid’s shrimp meal was thrice the size, and much tastier. Since they messed up my order and let me keep the mini lobster rolls I got on accident instead of the «big» lobster roll, I ended up with a decent amount of celery salad to add to my «big» bun…
If you’re going to go here anyway, go for lunch. The mini lobster rolls have more celery salad combined than the big one and is only $ 8.50 plus tax. Also, get the sandwich hot since it appears on other reviews it’s mostly meat, not celery.
I would’ve have given one star, but they did correct their mistakes with no question and the new girl that helped me was very friendly. Great customer service skills which I appreciate and commend her for that.
In conclusion, outrageously expensive for proportions, lobster salad a total flop, kids shrimp pretty good, twisted calamari: meh. If you’re wealthy and eat like a bird with no tastebuds, go for it.

OK — I’m big enough to retract a review when I was wrong. I scorched this place pretty good because I couldn’t get in during stated hours and didn’t like the treatment I got in the process.
That being said, I kept looking over those wonderful reviews and thought that I never got to try the food, which is what this site is all about. Tonight, my wife and I gave it a whirl and I can surely see the justification for these great reviews. Food was flawless, beautiful in presentation, and the portions were more than ample. Flavors were sublime and the service first rate.
Consider this my 100% retraction of my prior negative review and this joint goes to the head of the class. They will be regulars on my dining list.
