Wait time can be lengthy but the wait is definitely worth it at Big Wave. If your looking for a great dinner option on Tuesday’s stop on in for Taco Tuesday’s when Taco’s only cost $ 2. If your in the mood for other Mexican delights this place has a great selection including a lengthy selection of healthy options. Big wave is definitely the place to go for Mexican in Cape May.

Amazing and authentic mexican food. Huge portions as well. The nachos were huge and were shared between 4 people. The crunchwrap was huge and full of ingredients. The rio bowl is my favorite, i added coconut and it tasted even better. Definitely recommend.

The only thing keeping this place from 5 stars was the price. 13 for a g crunch. That’s the thing to get. It was massive and delicious, but hurt the wallet. I guess a meal and a half is worth it in price. Good overall

Love this place. The nachos are awesome, topped with a ton of fresh veggies. Very relaxed atmosphere, great spot to grab lunch after headin home from the beach. Service can be a little slow, but it’s all part of the laid back experience!

Hey for a little taco/buro place This was Great. I walked in very skeptical coming from California as lucky to have has some great tacos and burritos. The food here was excellent as the quality of the steak and chicken was excellent! Ingredients were very fresh. For a quick bite and inexpensive meal this is a winner. Only negative was Did not like finish on tables as it had a tacky feel.

I guess I had high expectations going in. Yes the surfer décor and art for sale is cute, but you can put lipstick on a pig… Still a pig. Our party had two tables and both tables were very sticky, Some of us had to use a baby wipe to clean our forearms.(Gross) It is uncomfortably HOT inside, we all were sweating. Big wave burritos should pass out ice water while their customers wait 20+ minutes. There were 3 people behind the counter and it took that long to make a $ 10 burrito? As for the food… BLAND, chewy chicken, undercooked rice, hard tortilla chips. They microwaved the nachos until the cheese was actually hard, the hard cheese caused the even harder tortilla chips to become a large mass of an inedible mess. Unless you want a cracked tooth don’t order nachos. The burrito bowl had at least a half cup of corn on top… Seriously?! The utensils and condiments are on top of the trash bin, I did not enjoy filling up the hot sauce cups on the trash.(Gross) Not to mention we had to run across the parking lot to the wawa’s where the nearest ATM; cash only I WISH we just stayed at wawa’s(again, where the ATM is located) I could have had a delish Caesar wrap and a fountain drink for less than $ 7. Put it this way, if you’re a fan of chipotle’s vibe and taste then don’t bother… In fact I want my money back! I haven’t regretted eating out in a long time. Very over priced for the below mediocre experience. We could have enjoyed a more formal dinner at an air conditioned restaurant for the amount we spent. I’d like to add that I’ve read a lot of the positive reviews on here, I really have a feeling that they are the actual employees and/or friends of the owner trying to boost the rating. I just don’t believe what these ppl are saying. Seriously, instead of adding fake reviews, just make the actual improvements needed.

Currently, boiling alive while waiting 30+ minutes for overpriced Mexican food. Did I mention it was cash only? If 4 people can’t make 3 burritos in under 30 minutes, it is time for a career change. Big Wave Burrito – BIGWASTEOFMONEY

Headed out in Cape May not sure where to eat but ran across this gem. Full menu, fast service and excellent food. We had steak burritos which were bursting with ingredients and flavor. Chicken quesadillas were basic yet full of flavor. Vegetarian fajitas did not disappoint. The guacamole was some of the best we have ever had. Excellent choice for take out or eat it! We will definitely return.

Very similar to Chipotle burritos, pleasantly surprised. Huge so my boyfriend and I split a chicken burrito. I had a few bites where my black beans were a bit hard, didn’t seem fully cooked through to softness. Other than that, the flavors were all there and the price was right. Pleasant atmosphere inside with the surfboard beach theme. Worth the walk from town, about two miles!

Came in on a rainy Saturday night when everywhere else was packed. We were the only people in the place. The bathrooms were out of order and they had no ice for drinks. The food was just ok. No big complaints, but average Mexican food at best. We liked the beach décor — surfboards and beach art.

One of my favorite places in Cape May! Everything made fresh, to order. Menu has lots of options, including fresh fruit & smoothies. My favorites so far have been the bean dip & homemade chips and the fish taco… it is so good! My only complaints: Bad parking situation and Cash Only!

The cons: Drink selection is horrible and it’s cash only The pros: Food is absolutely amazing!!! Had the chicken burrito, it was the perfect size, ingredients were fresh, and the flavor was amazing. Overall a little pricey and you wait a little for your food but I would definitely recommend eating here!

Lot of mediocre reviews, don’t feel they deserve it. We rolled in on a Saturday night, ordered for 6 people, food service was prompt. Got guac and salsa; salsa was OK(it’s a bad year for tomatoes) but the guac was tremendous, super creamy and lots of garlic. Kids got little burritos and quesadillas and they were sated. Adults got the fried fish burritos and tacos, both really great. The curry slaw pulls it together well. In and out fast, fresh food, fair prices. Give it a shot man.

This place has great burritos there just not worth the price they run. If you are a big burrito spender this is your joint. It was very good and a great atmosphere I just cannot justify the price. Great part is this place is open late enough to hit after the bars and delivers.

Maybe my expectations were a little high for this place. But after tasting this $ 9 burrito, there was nothing special going on here. Sure, it was a huge burrito, but it was nothing more than a wrap full of tasteless texture. Beans, rice, cheese, lettuce, SC, salsa, and what seemed to be packaged sliced chicken. It’s big enough to make you full. But will leave you wondering what you just ate…
