I agree with many of the previous reviews. Nice staff, decent prices, but not much flavor included. 5 people, 5 different meals. Chicken Nachos were very good with plenty of toppings, chicken burrito just ok, enchiladas verde sauce too sweet. Would go back in a pinch but only if extreme Mexican craving takes hold.

Absolute perfection for an authentic Mexican restaurant! No Tex Mex here. The entrees are superb. The appetizers are amazing. I had, on several occasions, the varied large meat plate for 2, shared it and even went home with a doggy bag. It is excellent! They used to have fried crickets which were sensational but that is currently off the menu… let’s bring THAT back! I am not the biggest fan of tripe but they have a tripe soup that is flavorful & delicious… and I do satisfy my craving for it once in a while. Yummy. The tacos are incredible. The sopes are out of this world! The tricolor wet burrito is one of my favorites! As well as the Chile Rellenos & Tamale. It is a BYOB. You just really can’t go wrong here!

B– because they staff is really friendly and all speak Spanish pero I think they are slacking because the lack of authentic Mexican restaurants in the area. The food was cooked in an authentic manner. The seasonings were not present. It being hard to get the ingredients is understandable if it was Puerto Rico(I’ve lived there). Even PR had places with more sabor(flavor) and I think they just aren’t trying. As for the alcohol, it’s BYOB so you can actually save some money that way. Overall it has potential but it deff needs a lil work. If your craving Mexican it’s aight but if your taste buds are authentic I’d say pone más salsa.

We love this casual restaurant that serves up real Mexican food. It tastes homemade. My favorite entrée is Chicken Enchiladas Suizas, with lots of chicken wrapped in tortillas with a green chile sauce. I recommend Dos Amigos!

Good solid Mexican food spot. Had the obligatory chips and salsa which were good. I had the burrito which was very good. My wife had the tacos which were good. Ambience was ok, can tell it was a former Taco Bell, a bit small and pretty open. Would visit again.

Authentic cuisine, not over-seasoned, spacious, clean, parking, carnitas tacos were great, shrip gorditas were great too. Soup: excellent. Family-friendly.

Wow! Authentic Mexican food at its best and a BYOB. This Irishman has gone to heaven. I’ve been here a half dozen times and you really can’t go wrong no matter what you order. The wait staff is great and makes sure you will leave with a smile on your face. Oh … the prices … Reasonable!

I have been here several times with my family and would consider it to be an average Mexican restaurant. The food always taste good and the staff is polite. Just doesn’t have the Wow factor.

Everything was flavorless. Really. If you want a laugh, order the vegetable fajitas! All frozen veggies. Lima beans, frozen corn and peas… It’s summer in Jersey! Here, even the peppers were frozen! To their credit, they removed it from the bill. But really — don’t go. Even the salsa was utterly flavorless.

This new Mexican restaurant is a bright spot in the Rio Grande dining area. Tastefully decorated, it offers a wide variety of your favorite dishes including enchiladas, quesadillas, fajitas and empanadas. It also steps out with tasty chicken mole and a delicious blend of meat, chicken and seafood served in a real lava rock, a molcajete. However, it may be one of the few in the South Jersey area to serve home made tamales. Wrapped in a banana leaf, steamed and filled with chicken, they are great and a most unexpected find. I will have to come back again to try their flan and churros.

great Mexican place. We went in the morning on fourth of july when it was rainy and every other restaurant was packed. Service was quick and great, good coffee, great food and the chorizo con queso was to die for. Thanks for the great mexican food. We will be returning here when were down the shore again in August.

First time I went, it was great. Second time, a month later it was ok(figured they were having a bad night). Third time, it was just bad. Ordered same dish add first time – tortilla soup app and pork chop entrée. It was like they came from 2 different places. I decided to give them one more try about a month ago. This time ordered the seafood burito. It was disgusting. Completely inedible. I didn’t even bother sending it back. Just got up and left, kicking myself that I didn’t learn my lesson earlier!

One of the best Mexican eateries in south jersey. Food is always fresh and the salsa is made fresh every day.

Wasn’t horrible but I’d never eat here again. –The(free) chips they brought out were cold and the accompanying salsa was VERY bland. –The beef nachos appetizer was probably the highlight of the meal, and we’d say that was a 7 out of 10. –Chimichangas(wife) were somewhat soggy and terribly underseasoned, rice was a little overcooked. She didn’t care for any of it. –Burrito(me) lacked much flavor, continuing the trend. Lots of overcooked rice. –Judging from the room-temperature plate and burrito shell, my dish never saw the inside of an oven. I guess they just scooped out some stuff, threw it in the burrito shell, rolled it up and sent it out. In my experience, it’s a bad sign when you order a burrito and the waitress can handle your plates barehanded. –No alcohol. That covers the food. None of the rest is a big deal to us, but just observing: –Lighting and windows make the place awkwardly bright for a sit-down restaurant, and the floor could have been left over from its Taco Bell days. The tablecloth looked okay but were covered with a somewhat sticky plastic sheet. I guess hot plates would melt them. –It seemed too small/bright a place to have a hostess and waitstaff standing around up front. At least they had some music playing so it wasn’t completely weird. –My wife and I noticed that we each received different style forks AND different knives. Meaningless – and at home we have mismatched stuff when making dinner for ourselves – but little details like this make you wonder. –The waitress was very good, though we didn’t ask much of her.(It’s not like she had to handle hot plates). She smiled and was friendly, prompt, attentive without being annoying, didn’t smell like smoke(etc). Everything we could have asked for in a server. –On the other hand, the tattooed young lady working the register didn’t say a single word to us. I even thanked her when she handed back my change — not only did she not say anything, she didn’t even look up at me. I hope she doesn’t get a cut of the waitress’s tip. Overall it wasn’t the worst Mexican dinner I’ve ever had, but there’s no reason to recommend the place. The food quality and atmosphere had more in common with a Moe’s-type chain than a true Mexican restaurant. I don’t like Moe’s either, but at least it was cheaper.

Very tasty, authentic food. The chicken tamales($ 8.99) were delicious, not pretty to look at, but the portion is generous and they really stuff them. Tacos were also very good and super cheap($ 6.99)

Saw this restaurant on Delsea Drive and thought it would be a nice new place to check out. We arrived to a very busy dining area, and had to wait a bit for a table. The place had only been open for a week so everyone and their mother was at the restaurant to check it out. The food is basically your standard Mexican fare, it was not outstanding but not terrible either… it was just meh. Normally we head to Cinco De Mayo in Cape May for Mexican, and if I had to choose between the two, I would choose Cinco.

This place did not WOW us unfortunately. We really wanted to be WOWwed. Didn’t happen. Afterwards we decided that the Crown King of Mexican in the Cape area still belongs to 5(Cinco) De Mayo on Cape May island.(Also reviewed by me a while back). I got the personal favorite Wet Burrito, something that is pretty darn good at Cinco. Whatever sauce this burrito came in was just not happening. I think we might go back here but only if we’re in the area and we really think it over.
