OPENYEARROUND! Was in town for a Sunday night in mid-January and stopped in for dinner. Excellent steak tacos and very friendly service. With so few spots open in the area during the winter time, this place is invaluable. Will be back for sure.

The chicken quesadilla was excellent as was the chicken with molle sauce. Loved going there in the off season. Wasn’t crowded and had good service.

In search of Mexican food it seems like this town has plenty. We went to this«divey» looking option for lunch a weekday after Labor Day. We seemed to be the only«vacationers» eating there. I greeting the lone waitress in Spanish and then was engaged in that dialogue for the rest of the lunch. Ended up going with the nachos and the macajote which was the big cauldron of a bowl with 5 seperate means, peppers and onions served with 4 tortillas. Worked out great for the table. Just as a hint don’t expect top of the line service. It might be part of the cultural difference but do expect authentic food and drink. They don’t get the extra start because they don’t have lunch menu and a couple of the prices seemed to have been scribbled out and raised.

Delicious and authentic Mexican food. Very reasonably priced for the huge portions. Only issue: the phone doesn’t always work but don’t be deterred by that. Definitely worth checking out!

Was looking for authentic Latin food after a day at the beach. Stumbled across this small place which had the days specials written in Spanish(you know its going to be good then). Ordered the nachos mixtos off the appetizers and beef fajitas for me and my boyfriend to split. Had to cancel the fajita order after the nachos came out — it was HUGE!!! And practically spilling off the platter. We couldn’t even finish between the two of us, had to take the rest home in a box. But honestly the best nachos I had ever had! Topped with avocado, queso fresco, chicken, chorizo, beef, beans, jalepinos, tomato, and lettuce. OMG. Everything on the menu sounded so good and the dishes that a family near us was enjoying looked delicious. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back when next in the area.

My girlfriend says its the best chicken fajita she’s ever had. So, there’s that. I had the tacos, which were pretty tasteless, so I used some of the average salsa that was left over from the(I assume) store bought chips they give you. The restroom was disgusting. There was mold growing on the flush handle. There were no paper towels in the dispenser. I was on the toilet for about an hour after eating here. I eat Mexican food 3 – 4 times a week. This stuff was sub-par at best. The waitress was super nice, though.

Real Mexican food, right in the heart of Wildwood! Garibaldi’s serves excellent, authentic Mexican food! The portions are amazing. My burrito was gigantic, and it was topped with freshly cut tomatoes and avocado! Our server was very patient, since it took us a few minutes to look over the wide variety of choices on the menu. All of the members of my party were pleased with the food, and we will certainly return for more — and bring friends!

I’m a Mexican Chef so let me start by saying this place is not the most advertised or the most busy at times but is the most authentic and BEST Mexican food in NJ — HANDSDOWN. Come hungry because the plates are HUGE and cheap. The chicken enchiladas verde, chili rellenos, tostadas, and bistek ranchero are to die for. Last time there, I grabbed a bunch of takeout menus for the motel we stay at to recommend. We go to Wildwood 3 – 4 times a year and MUST stop at Garibaldi’s each trip.

Cheap food for a cheap price is how I would sum this place up. We were excited to come here because the name says it’s authentic mexican food. I love mexican food. But if this is authentic, I’ll stick with an americanized version in the future because the dishes were mediocre at best. I would never come back here. My chicken burrito was overstuffed with rice and not very tasty, no sauce. Usually I enjoy the rice is on the side not stuffed in it. I ate a few bites then proceded to see who else at the table would share their meal. The portions were huge. My son had a hard shell taco that was wrapped with shedded beef in a soft taco, then deep fried to make it hard. And the lettuce and cheese was poured on top as you can see in the picture. I thought that tacos had the lettuce tomato and cheese wrapped in the taco usually, well not here. My wife had the chicken taco which was deep fried the same way as my sons. The chicked was so dry I took one bite and that’s all I wanted. Our party also had a chicken fajita that I tried. The sauce was boring, no flavor and chicken dry. There was no salsa or other sauces on other dishes to give them some flavor. The waitress was nice but couldn’t understand most of our order because we spoke english. And she seemed to instantly forget my order requests as I told her we wanted hard shell tacos for 2 orders at least 4 times, but had to come back to the table to ask me again how we wanted the tacos. I requested an additional glass of water 3 times before she understood and brought one. Lol There are tons of great reviews for this place, so that’s why we came here, but my experience wasn’t one of them.

Truly Authentic Mexican small family restaurant. If you desire Mexican food as Mexicans cook for their families, try this place. Fresh ingredients, amazing guacamole, homemade tortillas, and huge burritos. One the best chicken Moles I ever had. Don’t expect margaritas or fancy tablecloths. This is a down home Mexican place where Mexican Americans bring their families. Great for take out as well, although there is seating set up like a pizzeria. Very reasonable prices and great service too!

Top notch authentic Mexican food! Huge portions of well prepared food for a great price. Simple interior, I think this place was probably a pizza shop before it was a Mexican restaurant. We got the nachos and like everyone below said, they are enormous! They are probably big enough to feed three or four people and get them full. They have a lot of authentic options that you don’t see at many other Mexican restaurants like al pastor, caldos and tripe. Mexican lady who runs the restaurant is pleasant and attentive.

Small place, basic decour — while we were there they had folding tables and chairs setup. Drinks are all bottled from a fridge. Decent menu with good selections. We enjoyed the Mexican music video channel that was on the TV. Portion sizes were huge, make sure to come hungry. We enjoyed our meals — quesadillas and enchiladas. I don’t think we’ll make this a regular place on our annual trips, but I suspect it’s the best Mexican you’ll find on the island.

The best authentic Mexican I’ve ever had! Small place, but good service. 3 of us got full meals and it was only 32 dollars for HUGE portions. I got the fried tacos with beef instead of chicken and that’s what the picture is of. Came with the best beans and rice ever, only 7 dollars!

Dishes are massive come hungry! Food was well seasoned and came out hot. Rice and Beans were delicious and hit the spot. Some of the best Spanish food I’ve had. 10⁄10 would come back. Great prices and tons of leftovers!

After 30 minutes of restaurant searches we found this little place and was well pleased. We ordered nachos as our appetizer and 2&3 on the menu as our entrée. When the nachos came out I literately thought it was a mixed up entrée because it was huge. Everything was well seasoned and authentic. A must try!

First: the portions. They are massive. I’m sort of an all-consuming freak of nature, so when I say«massive» I mean that of my group of four, I was the only one that could finish the food. I ordered something that I didn’t know what it was(because that’s a fun way to experience food), and it was pretty good. Ended up being tortilla chips covered in queso fresca, with a thin wide steak laid across all of them. While it was good, it was a bit inconvenient to eat, in that the steak needed to be cut for each bite, which was mainly a finger-food dish. So there was a lot of picking up the knife and fork to cut a piece to put them down again to pick up the food then back up etc. If the steak had been roughly chopped right before serving, I think it’d be a great improvement. Along with my entrée came a side of rice and beans which were both gargantuan and delicious. I enjoyed them just about as much as the cheese and meat entrée. My personal recommendation would be to get the burrito. In addition to my plate, from friends’ unfinished plates I ate two enchilladas and about one third of a burrito. The burrito was the most delicious of the entrees I tasted, but maybe my favorite part of the meal was the rice and beans.

Unless they moved, they are no longer in business. I am in front of the address now and it’s a vacant building. There is, however, a Mexican restaurant that is open right next door called Garibaldi’s.
