I’ve had dinner at this place a half dozen times now and it’s just as good this last time as it was the first. Anyone who from this area who likes Indian food would have to travel about 35 miles or so to get it. It’s a well conserved menu, BYOB and clean. The atmosphere is nice and the food is very good. The wait staff is pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable of what is being served. If your not into the curry thing there are other items on the menu to choose from that are spot on. The only constructive criticism I may have is that the portion sizes are just a little small for the money but not enough to keep me from going again, not in the least. It’s a fresh, diverse addition of places to dine in Cape May, don’t miss it.

One of our new favorites! Haven’t had a bad meal here. Our first visit was on their first night open, and it was delicious. Been here 3 times since. Some of the curries are a bit spicy so pay attention to the menu. BYOB. Staff is very friendly. We like that they are open later than most non bar establishments in town.

Disappointment. We eagerly looked forward to trying Cape May’s first Indian restaurant. Food was okay but portions were small. Entire entrée, including two small strips of naan, served on a small plate that reminded me of a shopping mall food court, As an 8.99 lunch special, it would have been a great alternative to Wendy’s. As dinner, not so great. Chutney was delicious but: three dollars for a tiny dollop? Really? Cape May has many great restaurants, perhaps a major overhaul can turn this into one of them. For now, I can’t see this appealing to anyone but a hipster impressed by the minimalist décor and service.

Delicious food with yummy flavors. Thai lobster curry was wonderfully spicy. Husband really enjoyed his lobster and crab pot pie. Good appetizers. Professional service. Friendly atmosphere. We will be back often.

Really good. When you come here don’t expect the traditional taste of Indian and Thai food. Expect great taste with mixed a bit of spiciness and sweetness. I got the Bombay lobster curry, and upped the spicy level to 3 peppers(4 is the highest they have but I’m sure you can ask for higher if you want). My dish was definitely spicy to the point where it overwhelmed the other flavors in the curry. As for the actually spiciness I give it a 6.5÷10, 10 being the most spicy. It was a great dish with plenty of lobster meat. The curry also came with nan and rice. The atmosphere is ambient. The place is lit up completely by candle light. There is also upbeat jazzy/blue music playing in the background. This place would be good for dates or groups. You can tell the owner invested a lot of time and effort developing this magnificent place!

We went here this past weekend with a group of eight. Definitely call ahead if you have a group of six or more; they will take reservations for such groups. Loved the flavors on the dishes; great variation of Asian flavors… mainly Thai and Indian — I would definitely ask for the dishes to be spicier, because I didn’t find them to be very spicy/hot(even the ones that were listed as being spicy). The home-style American dishes were ok(though we didn’t really care for the Coca Cola chicken… the chicken itself just seemed like it was steamed or boiled). Our server was nice(though not perfect). My main complaint was… the kitchen seemed a bit slow; we had to wait a long time for our dishes to come out. This is a BYO establishment, so definitely bring your own bottle of wine(or beer). My father-in-law loved the flavors of the dishes. Lots of seafood here. Portion sizes decent(neither huge nor tiny). Total bill for our party seemed affordable… though we didn’t get dessert because our main dessert lover wasn’t into a whole bunch of desserts that were just«mousses». Easy parking in their lot on site; definitely an easier place to get to and in and out of than other establishments downtown(we were coming from the Point). Place has a nice atmosphere and loud enough to make it not a bad destination if you have a kid or two in tow. Would be nice if they put together a bit more of a kids menu… maybe just some chicken fingers?!(that’s my son’s favorite)

This is a newer restaurant located in West Cape May with a very interesting menu. The service was good and the outdoor ambiance was nice with great music! To start, we had the grilled watermelon salad which was delicious and topped with feta cheese and balsamic vinaigrette. My mom raved over the Thai shrimp and coconut soup which I tasted and it was also great! As an entrée my sister and I shared the shrimp and lobster mac & cheese which was a perfect amount to share since it was so rich but so delicious! Overall, we had a great experience here and would consider returning on our next visit to Cape May!

The curries that my wife and I had were fantastic(I’m English so I know my curry.) There were a few minor lapses in service but I can forgive those for a new restaurant. One of the nicest meals we had in Cape May.

Ate there last night. Been coming to Cape May, every summer, for years and this place is the BEST restaurant we have ever enjoyed in the area. The food was fantastic. Indian/Thai food served in reasonable portions. Bring your own wine if you want. Why not somewhere else? Most places in Cape May are pretty good, but the menu is about the same. This place is not only different, but really really well done. Try the lobster bisque. Definitely won’t be disappointed.

Pros: 1) The waitress and [what I think is] the owner seem nice and eager to please. 2) The food is fresh. In fact, the naan seemed as if it had been just baked. 3) The place seems clean. Areas of Improvement(all of the below is, obviously, per my taste, so YMMV): 1) The atmosphere is too gimmicky for my taste. The table-tops are a collage of black-and-white photographs and the chairs are bright red metal(not particularly comfie). 2) I prefer tablecloths and real napkins, but I notice that many restaurants no longer have this. The Cookhouse doesn’t. The paper napkins give a low-grade feel to the dining experience, IMHO. I would say that the owner would add a great deal to the dining experience if he gave real napkins. 3) The music was far too loud. Music should be in the background rather than the foreground of the meal to allow for conversation. 4) My husband’s Jamaican chicken was a too«soupy” — almost like a curry-chicken soup. 5) The dessert was a disappointment. It was so small as to be a sampler. It is in a serving as small as a tall shot glass, and after a 3 – 4 bits, you’re done. I ordered the sea salt caramel cheesecake/brownie, and as good as that sounds, I was underwhelmed. All in all, this place is an option for those who want a little something different from traditional seafood, and the owner and staff really seem to be trying. If they served lunch, I might try it again for that, but not for dinner. I guess I just like more of a dining experience for dinner, and I did not get that here.

First of all, I just have to say that I created an account on Unilocal just to write this review – that’s how amazing the meal at Exit Zero Cookhouse was. Every person I ate with said that the meal he/she had at this restaurant was, and I quote, «one of the best meals of my life.» The curry dishes were amazing, and the service was excellent. Part of me wants to tell everyone about this restaurant so it thrives and all can enjoy it; the other part of me wants it to remain a secret so I can keep it to myself. It was amazing – GO!

My dad and I just ate at EZ Cookhouse. Delish! I had the thai lobster curry. Fantastic! Reasonably priced, BYOB. Great options for the non indian food lover too!

Let me start off by saying that I had no clue that this was an Indian style restaurant. And I am not really fond of Indian spices. However, our dinner turned out being amazing. The owner was kind enough to spend several minutes with us going over the menu and pointing us to selections of the less-spicy assortment. My girlfriend and I ended up sharing the lobster mac n’ cheese and the bbq pulled pork pizza. Both were amazing. I am a fan of seafood so the Mac n’ cheese was a no brainer. The pulled pork complimented the pizza perfectly and together it was tremendous. I have never had pulled pork on top of pizza so it was definitely something different. I highly recommend this joint. I should also add that this is the most decorative and cool interior to a restaurant that I have ever seen. We will for sure be returning here next time we venture down to this neck of the parkway.

Everyone must try this restaurant! The food is excellent with deliciously unique flavors. It is extremely reasonably priced, which is a welcome change for the shore. The service was outstanding. All of the staff was very attentive. Our table ordered different appetizers and main dishes and shared them all. There is something for everyone and no one was disappointed. My personal favorites were the Spicy Shrimp & Coconut Soup and the Shrimp Curry. Another table favorite was the Lobster & Shrimp Pot Pie and the Root Beer Pulled Pork. We will definitely be back!

This restaurant has only been open a couple of weeks and my sisters and I just had to try it. The food was fantastic! Our waitress, Sue, did a great job recommending some appetizers we could share along with our main courses. No one was disappointed. I felt the portions were more than generous and the prices were reasonable.

Went last night, everything was perfectly prepared. Quite the eclectic menu, with things we happened to like. We had the Lobster & Shrimp Bisque, the Thai Spicy Shrimp & Coconut Soup, the Shrimp Tikka Masala and the Lobster & Shrimp Pot Pie. We think these dishes were as well prepared as they would be at 410 Bank St, and that says a lot. Service was extra special. What a great addition to the Cape May restaurant scene. Plans to be open year-round. Can’t wait to go back to this BYO.

I don’t consider myself an expert on Indian food, but I can say the food was tasty, well presented and the service was fast & friendly. Our waitress, Tisha, did a great job, especially in answering questions from newbees. We’ll definitely be returning.
