Only went to this restaurant once and have mixed feelings. Pros They have a very large menu which great options and daily specials. I got the french onion soup and a gyro, both of which I was happy with(soup better than the gyro though) Cons My boyfriend ordered one of the specials(some kind of chicken covered in shrimp sauce and stuffed with crab meat). The sauce was great, and so were the sides it came with, however, the chicken underneath was mostly fat and impossible to eat. He spent a couple minutes trying to cut around it, only to find that it wasn’t edible. When our waitress came over to ask how our meal was, he tried to explain and show her, but she just took it away and acted like he was being picky and just didn’t like it. They did take it off our bill, which was nice, but the waitress stopped coming over to our table and much and no one apologized. Instead, when we went to pay our bill, they kept bringing up the chicken and were pretty rude about the whole thing.

The best home fries of my life! I got the fried egg sandwich with bacon and cheese. So yummy! They also have Gluten-Free options which is great for my husband!

We have been to this diner/restaurant a few times and always had great food! Our waitress was excellent and sweet, however, I can’t say the same for the other servers I saw there. They didn’t return a smile and looked miserable. The Chicken Pot Pie was huge, homemade and tasty. It came with soup or a salad for a reasonable price. Dessert included too! Prices are very reasonable for the huge amount of food they give you. Every year when we go to Cape May, this place is a must. It’s a hidden treasure off the«tourists path».

The Ocean View restaurant was recommended to my wife and I by the lady at the front desk of our hotel when we first arrived in Cape May yesterday. It’s a cool combination of food on the menu — everything from breakfast to seafood, served in a diner-like atmosphere. My wife had the Shrimp and Flounder dinner, which came with 2 sides AND a salad. I ordered the Chicken Parm, which also came with a salad. It was enough food for a small family, and we ended up with leftovers. The portions are huge, so consider sharing a meal.

got a bite here while waiting for the ferry. had a blt and a cuppa. I was pleasantly surprised that the tomato was actually red and had flavor(at this time of year). the place was clean, staff attentive, food was good. If you are waiting for the ferry or something, this isn’t a bad place to be.

My wife and I have been frequenting this restaurant for years. The food is delicious, the menu expansive, the service prompt, and the waitstaff warm and friendly. Their menu is huge, as are the serving sizes, and encompasses breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At breakfast you can order eggs, waffles, pancakes, Eggs Benedict, or a myriad of omelets. The egg dishes are served with the best home fries and tater tots you could ask for , My wife likes her eggs scrambled soft and they always manage to do them perfectly. That’s not the case in most other restaurants. When we go for dinner my preference is seafood. No matter what seafood choice you make, it will always come out perfectly prepared. One of my favorites is the Broiled Seafood Combination. It consists of a Broiled Lobster Tail, 2 Shrimp, Flounder stuffed with Crabmeat, 2 Scallops, and. a piece of broiled fish, and a choice of a salad or soup, and a choice of two vegetables. At $ 29.95 this is an unbelievable price performer! My wife always looks forward to Thursdays, when homemade Chicken Pot Pie is on the menu. It is a very large pie loaded with large moist chicken pieces, vegetables, and topped with the best baked crust found anywhere, and only $ 13.95. Finally, the waitstaff are friendly, warm and are willing to accommodate to most any request you may have.

I can only get a meal here of what i like Fried Flounder and i have to travel 80 miles, but i know what i am going to get. I have gone to many places to eat if i order Fried Flounder i always had to say i want Flounder not sole are anything close, but i have never gotten Flounder and i go back and forth with waitress and sometimes the COOKLOL. They are all flat fish but Flounder eyes are on the right side and so i don’t ask for my fried Flounder anymore I just wait for summer and head down nice place to go By the way all the food is Great

Had a late afternoon breakfast here again today. The Ocean View omelette is really outstanding and I highly recommend it. Best coffee around, very friendly staff. Definitely a great diner. Had Maureen as our server and she was awesome. Great place, great food.

Went here for breakfast and all I have to say is, uncle Bill’s, watch out. Friendly staff, great breakfast and the pancakes are just as good as previously stated. Omelette was on point and the prices were very reasonable. Oh and almost forgot to mention, there was no wait. Great place to eat and I look forward to going to have lunch there on my next visit to cape may.

My review is for a dinner menu, and I understand from reading other reviews that dinner time is probably not the best time to come. We did not expect a fancy meal but everything, and I mean EVERYTHING that was served to us came straight from the freezer. The chicken looked like it was freezer burned, it was so shriveled up and stringy. Frozen/canned veggies and watery mashed potatoes. I would never recommend this to anyone or return there ever again.

Great place for breakfast! Best coffee. We had breakfast here every morning on our vacation. We always ordered the same thing, the number 4. Really reasonable prices. The waitresses were very nice, fast service, fresh eggs, big fluffy pancakes. They came often to the table to refill our coffee cups, a wonderful place. Sorry we never got to experience lunch or dinner there, maybe next time.

2 eggs, bacon, toast, potatoes, coffee and juice for $ 7.50– need I say more? In a shore town that is a great price for a tasty breakfast. Service is attentive, prompt, and efficient. Lacas coffee is hot & strong!

Always a great breakfast. The sausage is wonderful, the scrapple is both crispy and creamy at the same time, and everything else is delicious.

First time eating breakfast here. Right off the bat I noticed how clean everything was. The menus were clear and easy to read. The tables were clean and comfortable to sit at. The waitresses were all polite and professional. Exactly what you expect from an efficiently run diner. I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese on a Kaiser roll with a side of bacon. My wife, the eggs and home fries with a side of bacon. Our food didn’t take long to arrive and when it did it was nicely presented and smelled wonderful. My wife’s eggs were scrambled and cooked perfectly; soft without being runny. My roll was toasted which was ok, I normally like fresh, soft rolls. My sausage was cooked fine but my eggs were not completely done the way that I like them; a little too runny on the yolk. I prefer my yellows a bit more solid. My side of bacon was nice and crispy but my wife’s were a little under done. They serve Lacas coffee which I really love but it was a little weak. My wife had no complaints on her tomato juice. I really have no major complaints. It’s more or less what you expect from a family diner. We do plan on returning.

Fantastic! After eating at Uncle Bill’s pancake house the day before and being extremely disappointed, this was a welcome change. Food was excellent and service was excellent. Next time we visit Cape May, this will be our first stop!

Friendly service, reasonable prices, and great mac & cheese! It’s not gourmet or anything, but it really hits the spot when you have a mac craving(and I often do). My boyfriend enjoyed the chicken pita as well.
