Climate controlled and secure access. Vanity was very helpful, extremely knowledgable, and went through the process quickly and efficiently. We rented two units after touring.

The place is clean, well lit and easily accessible. The reason I’m not a fan is although the staff was polite, I never had a «wow» experience that the ads promote and so many people at other locations, including NYC rave about. My phone experience and tour at the NYC location was so much better. I reserved the unit online and when I arrived, the gentleman sitting behind the desk never acknowledged me with a smile or hello. I stood over him for a good 30 seconds before he lifted his head to say anything, which was not even a greeting. I then found out the unit was incorrectly advertised and cost more than the price indicated. «Mr. Personality» was not helpful, apologetic or empathetic and I had to speak with corporate to get them to honor the advertised price, which fortunately I had taken a screen shot of. Next, one female staffer became argumentative when I told her I was paying for a unit that my daughter had reserved. She said that I had already taken advantage of the special — one month free and could not have another special. I kept trying to explain that it was my daughter who was using the special and not me and that I was simply paying for it. She said I still couldn’t do that because we were in the same household. I informed her that we did not live together and it was simply a matter of convenience. Ironically, I could get one month’s free rental for each referral that I made. When I told her to just do the transaction as a referral instead, she STILL insisted that I could NOT have two units with one month free. I even tried to illustrate that if I was referring my friend, who was not related to me, I would be entitled to the month free for the referral — to which she agreed was correct. Then I asked why, because it was my daughter, I could not get the benefit of the referral? Her reply was — because we were in the same household. ARRRGGGHHHHH! OMG. Thank goodness this was a phone conversation and not face-to-face encounter. As a real estate investor who rehabs property and is always in need of storage units, I probably would have ended up renting at least 5 or 6 units on an ongoing basis as I have in the past in other states. However, because of this lack of customer support, I simply had everything transferred to a more accommodating storage company even though I had prepaid 3 months in advance. It was not worth the headache.

The entire process of learning about climate controlled storage options, rules and regulations, selecting a unit, completing paperwork and making a payment took approximately 30 minutes.
