I am always shocked when I feel I am discriminated against. For those of you who know me, I have never been one to wear my money on my sleevs. Living in one of the most beautiful homes Aptos has to offer, has left me to just simply role out of bed and go shopping. However it has it’s costs looking like a poor UCSC student at some stores these days. I spend $ 500.00 to $ 2,000.00 each time I go in this store and I do agree my $ 100.00 tee shirts last a very long time and are worth every penny. Today while shopping I could not beleive that the Manager, Jenny totally cut in front of the darling girl helping me, Marrissa. I as always, have places to be, so to take another ten minutes to wait to be rung up when I was already started really erked me. I could not beleive the Manager, Jenny, just started helping this other lady who wasn’t even at the counter when my gal was ringing up my purchases. She just cleared the computer screen and started ringing her up! Even worse, right now they have their yearly 20% off sale. I have been shopping here for years, since they opened here. Not once have I been offered the discount if I did not have my card. I have asked before and most recently before this Thanksgiving because I left my card at home. I was told no, I had to have my card!!! Jenny offered it to the lady even though she did not have the card! I swear when I go out in my diamonds, I am treated so differently than when I look like a poor Santa Cruz person!!! What is wrong with this person and others in this town like her? My husband started this counties largest flooring store thrity eight years ago. His father started one here in town sixty years ago. We were in three other counties until we sold all of our stores, not the properties, last year. We prided ourselves on never treating people like this as we are smart enough to know sometimes the richest are the ones you would never think are. We trained our sales staff with these examples! Do I really have to look rich to be treated fairly, this is Santa Cruz for God’s sake!!!

They have beautiful clothes and other items, but have been unfriendly both times I went in. No hello, no eye contact. I will take my money elsewhere.

Immediate helpful service. I have stopped buying @ Target, etc. The clothes were basically throw aways after one season. And after the horrors of the factory fires in Bangladesh, I’m trying to buy USA. Clothes here will last you a long, long time so if it seems pricey to you, consider that you’re buying quality, buying locally, and saving money in the long run.

Somewhat overpriced… but so are many boutiques of this type. It’s a lovely little store though, with a decent selection of designer denim for such a small place such as saltworks, AG, Seven for all Mankind. They have a location on Pacific Avenue in downtown Santa Cruz but this smaller store is much less hectic compared to that one in the major shopping district of the area and more organized too. Quite a few cute shirts as well.
