Best fish and chips ever! This coming from a native Pacific Northwester who knows fish and chips. Fairly priced for Kona coast as well and super friendly service. Wait until you see the lemon wedges!

I’ve passed this little road side eatery for years. Finally stopped by to check it out and I’m so glad we did. The food was great and customer service was so local… like going to «aunty’s house.» Will definitely be back there again!

Fabulous fish and chips!!! Fish is caught locally and does not get any fresher. Homemade tarter sauce is very good too! Great island atmosphere.

Loved the Ono fish and chips. Such good flavor. Literally amazing, best fish and chips I’ve had since London. The fries were really great too! Can’t wait to come back.

On our way back from the national park we decided to stop here and it was a great choice! The fish had a light breading on it and the tartar sauce was an amazing addition. We went back for more tartar sauce because it was so good! Not sure why anyone didn’t like this place! We would for sure come back!

We saw this place while exploring the west coast of the Big Island. My buddy wanted to try it. All the previous reviews are dead on when they say the Ono was lightly breaded, perfectly cooked, and not oily. However those reviews stop short of describing the flavor of the«fish & chips»…which is severely lacking. It didn’t taste bad… but it doesn’t have much flavor at all… bland comes to mind. Now the chips(aka fries) were pretty tasty… probably because they are cook in the same oil as the fish. Would I stop in here again… probably not.

Service was good but food not so good. We all got fish and chips and none of us were pleased. Overcooked and coating was greasy.

YUM! Best fish and chips I’ve ever had! Rather than those greasy chunks of fried cod, Keoki’s offers smaller pieces of ono(think of it like fish nuggets, but in a good way) that have been lightly battered in bread crumbs and fried. No grease or that fried armor that all comes off in one bite. Staff were very nice and provided helpful directions too. Know that you’re going to a very casual place that basically just offers fried food. You’re here for the delicious fish and chips. Nobody wants to hear about your diet!

Keoki’s is a cute little stop on the side of the highway. We ordered first, and then seated ourselves. It wasn’t crowded at all, so seating our party of 10 was no issue. The food came quick, some on neat recycled records. I ordered the«one and a half» fish and chips to share. The fish was breaded in panko and not too oily. The fries were also very good. Definitely a good amount for two people — not overly filling, but also not skimpy. A good place to get your fill if you’re passing by!

Second time on the island, fourth basket of fish and chips! Yum! Worth the drive and the stop.

A funky little roadside place. The four stars are for a stellar fish and chips – fresh and dipped in crispy panko crumbs.(When I say fresh, I mean it – they took delivery of a 40-pound wahoo while I was sitting there munching!) Nice staff, and did I mention how fresh the fish was?

At a certain point heading around the south end of the island there are just no more places to eat… your options become extremely limited, and Keoki’s is a decent stop if you are headed that way. There’s not much in the way of food coming up after it, if you’re heading south out of Kona. It was a funky little dive with friendly quick service and decent food. We got a big plate of fish and chips«for two» which was about $ 18. It was quick and hot and we ate it all and it was indeed enough for 2 people. The fish filets were a little thin for me so it’s not my favorite on the island(see Pine Tree Café Ono Fish and Chips) but we enjoyed it. They make their own tartar sauce which was unique and good ‘though a little salty. They also have a memorabilia«museum?”/ gift shop that sells a wide range of items including e-cigarettes and«Donkey Balls» in various flavors… these are the Original Donkey Balls but not the same as the Donkey Balls down the street closer to Kona who bought the original location but is now embroiled in some kind of business lawsuit with the inventor of Donkey Balls. Also, we kept seeing random men go to the end of the dining room and sit down and bliss out in a recliner, when we asked what that was about, they told us their Mom left her massage chair there and it’s become a popular local fixture. So, Keoki’s is not short of local color. Bottom line: a potential gold mine with plenty of room for improvement. What do I mean by that? Well, the dining areas are on the road side. The restrooms and the kitchen are on the side of the building with the million dollar view of the ocean and sunset. The whole thing should be flipped around and edited if they want to get serious about making money in food service. The potential is there to be a landmark destination.

Out shopping on vacation and stopped in, ordered the fish n chips with onion rings. They were the best fish n chips we have had yet! The fish is so fresh and their breading is amazing!

For a small roadside spot I didn’t have hi hopes for this place. We walked in and where welcomed by two lovely lady’s. Following there recommendation we had the fish and chips. My hot wife and I split an order of 1 ½ fish with onion rings and chips. The Ono was amazing cooked to perfection the batter was light and the fish was not oily at all. I had a cup of coffee from the self service bar. It was one of the best lunches we had on this 10 day vacation!

The fish and chips were amazing and the vibe laid back. If you’re looking for white linen table cloths keep driving! If you want a great meal from some cool people, this is your stop.

I really love this quaint little establishment. The staff is just like a stellar cast from a Hollywood movie– they’re a family and that’s just how they treat the guests. The food may be pricey but it is well worth it for the size of the portions and the fact that it’s fresh caught. They also feature live music on the weekend, showcasing some amazing local talent. When I was there I saw captain Kelly and the buckinear, such an awesome time.

After visiting Southpoint for the day, we were very hungry and while driving back to Kona came across this restaurant. Good food, friendly staff, and a family owned restaurant. Must try the fish and chips with the special homemade sauce!

This is a great case where you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. Keoki’s isn’t a real eye catcher from the outside. I can’t remember a better fish and chips lunch. The fish is locally caught and fried to perfection. Marsha, the owner, said she has the fries custom cut for her. The lemons are grown on her own tree. The menu also has pizza and hamburgers. The buns are baked locally. We are only here a week but have decided to try the burgers on our next stop. There are tables outside but we chose to eat inside where a large door both front and back allowed the freshest breeze to flow through.

Quirky little place on the side of the road with really tasty fish and chips. We got the 1 ½ order and shared. My friend ended up obsessed with these fish and chips and said she could eat here every day. The serving is kind of unique, with the fish in smallish pieces, and the fish inside was nice and flaky. There’s lots to look at while you wait, and the lady working there takes your order and then goes and makes your food. She’s very nice and chatty. They also sell a large variety of Donkey Balls here.

We stopped here with a group of 8(6 adults and 2 children) for the fish and chips and were very disappointed. The food did taste okay, but was not proper fish and chips, rather small dry fish nuggets, that were likely previously frozen(despite claims otherwise) and thin shoestring fries. The portions were also extremely small and way overpriced. For $ 20, it was supposed to be a portion for two, but it was just a small pile of fries and a few onion rings with a handful of fish nuggets. As an aside, they had stuck blue toothpicks in the bigger chunks of fish that turned the fish blue! The burger was also previously frozen and drowning in an oversized bun for $ 9. McDonald’s would have been a better choice! As other posters mentioned, it was an interesting, eclectic décor, but dirty. They had old cloth tablecloths and placemats with stains, blobs of old sauce and crumbs. They would be better off ditching the coverings and going with something easier to clean. We also had a laugh at the big signs on each table asking for 15% tip because there was no service. You order the food in the shop, get your own sodas out of the cooler and seat yourself(we had to push tables together for our large group). The lady brought out a stack of paper cups and a plastic pitcher of ice water and left it, so I poured it for everyone, and they did bring the food to the table, but no more service than that. It’s not bad, but it’s also not table service. Overall, we think this is just an overpriced tourist trap.
