Fresh, fresh, fresh! Outstanding crabcakes, fresh grouper. Excellent food safety; Molly keeps all of her seafood cold inside a walk-in refrigerator. This is a delicious find with competitive prices. Don’t miss Molly if you’re on island and have some way to cook!

Why go elsewhere? If you are staying where you have the facilities to cook and you want fresh, native seafood, Mollie Malones’s is the place to go. We had the coconut shrimp, crab cakes, and red snapper. The shrimp was delectable. We only had the essentials. Just pan fried with a bit of olive oil. OMG! The crab cakes were to die for. The red snapper was cooked on the grill on a piece of foil over a bed of sliced onions, topped with tomatoes, finished with fresh basil(also purchased at Molly’s) I am not going out to eat while staying on Captiva, I will purchase the ingredients for an awesome dinner at Mollie Malone’s

My daughter discovered this place last time we were on Captiva, and we really liked the crabcakes, and hogfish snapper, grouper, and shrimp. We will probably go there again. Having fresh seafood here really spiced up our stay!

Fresh grouper was the only selection available last Thursday but it was good. Not open everyday just Tuesday Wednesday Thursday for us so we only could go once and it was late on Thursday so maybe they had more on other days. Not cheap but it’s close to South Seas and reachable by golf cart from the resort.

This is not a restaurant. It’s better. It’s super fresh seafood sold on the back porch behind the general store in Captiva. We had an incredible piece of grouper, the freshest stone crab you can get, and some really awesome lump crab cakes. Seafood at restaurants in the area can be really hit or miss. If you are up for cooking, this is the best way to experience incredible local seafood caught by local fishermen.

There’s something nostalgic about being able to buy fresh seafood out of a cooler, in walking distance of where you’re staying. Brings me back to my childhood, I guess. The prices are typical for Captiva, which means higher than elsewhere in the area, but the seafood is fresh, and good, and Molly is both enthusiastic and proud of her product. Purchased several days worth of seafood here for our dinners — filets of yellow wedge grouper and hog snapper, and crabcakes made by Molly herself. Really one of the highlights of our trip, and the best food we ate on Captiva.
