Applebee’s

BEYOND HORRIBLE. Do not order «curbside pickup» from this location. Do not expect even half decent management. We ordered online, a very simple order, and selected our pick up time from the options available on the website. We waited for 20 minutes by the curb, after calling once to be sure they knew we were there and that we were in the right spot. Finally, we just decided to go inside and check it out. We were totally calm and just kinda wondering what was going on. When we asked about the order inside, they didn’t even have it in their system. But what really irked me was that nobody gave a darn! This is after 30 minutes now of waiting for what was supposed to be the «quick» option. Finally, the manager came out and was basically smirking as we asked what happened. All we wanted was some basic human decency — e.g., someone saying «sorry about that». Instead we got a striking and careless manager. Fail Applebee’s, Royal fail.

I placed 4 to go orders and when I got home. Which is in Murphysboro. I realized I only had 3. When I called the restaurant and spoke with a manager. She apologized for what happened and offered me a gift card which I should have taken instead of going back to Carbondale for my order. Because when I got my food home, it was cold and dry. I may or may not eat there again!!!

I really don’t like Applebee’s. I feel like this is a place you go when you want McDonald’s quality food with a few beers. I have been more satisfied with frozen Lean Cuisines. The drinks are weak and expensive. The meals are incredibly overpriced and downright bad.

Horrible! Where do I start. After being seated it took our waitress 20 mins to get our drinks and put our food in. In another 40 mins we got our food. Most of it. My friend still was waiting on her 6 pieces of shrimp. We also ordered soup which they told us they didn’t have after all the other food came to the table. The waitress and manager tried to argue with us, instead of making it better. We did get some food for free and a discount. But what’s the point when your ready to eat as soon as you leave the building. Also this has happened more than once! I had to give this Applebee’s one star because I couldn’t go any lower. Do not go here for dinner!

Applebee’s is the same everywhere, which can be a good thing. When you travel a lot and you know what you want, you can pretty much know… Hey let’s go to Applebee’s.also a given on saturday and sundays for football fun… my version of a tailgate party is a booth at Applebee’s.at least it is warmer than an actual tailgate.
I like their flatbread pizza and the wings.
Usually can’t go wrong with the wings. We stopped here while traveling in Illinois because my daughter and hubby wanted the wings… so we were new to the area and knew we could get them at Applebee’s and good ones at that. so we stopped.
I would go to this location again.
It was busy but the wait staff got them in and out quickly.
Our waiter was new but so friendly.
Great food and Great services in a strange city during our travels. is exactly what I wanted at the time!!!

Never was a big fan of Applebee’s but had an enjoyable experience while with a group of friends. They have a killer deal with half price appetizers after 9 pm. I ordered the bones wings which were good but not great and the wonton tacos which where fantastic. The wonton tacos were loaded with chicken and one of the best cold slaws around. The service was good but not great but all the workers were very warm and friendly. Overall I had an enjoyable experience and would definitely go back for appetizers.

My family loves applebee’s for some strange reason. They are weirdos who would rather go to an applebee’s than find something exclusive to the town they are in. But I digress… This is seriously the worst applebee’s ever. I’ve been in the service industry for quite a few years and I try not to use that knowledge to judge other establishments but here’s my review:
The servers must get paid more hourly than tipped because in the past two trips to this establishment our server (two different girls) have done as LITTLE as possible to serve us. Literally if you had water and wanted a refill it was not going to happen because she only walked past our table to take our order and drop off our food. I’m not sure if it’s the horrible management, lack of server’s effort, or lack of server’s training but it’s absolutely ridiculous.
My second point is that they know their food is shit. Both times we had ordered mozzarella sticks, which is pretty freaking hard to mess up. Both times they came out cold, as if they had been sitting in the window for longer than five minutes. (I will add that both times we were there it was NOT busy. Like seriously five tables throughout the entire restaurant.) One of my tables steaks (that was ordered rare) came out well done and they couldn’t ask to get it fixed because our server didn’t approach or walk past the table until she delivered the check. I have never had such poor service and quality food anywhere before! I will add though, as a server, I still felt the need to tip at least 15% which shouldn’t have happened.

I’m a big fan of Applebee’s in general. This location has good points and not so good points, so overall, I’d give a rating of about average.
On the good side — I love their chicken won ton tacos (how many times can I talk about chicken won ton tacos on various Unilocal reviews of different Applebee’s locations?) and their pub pretzels. I crave them. I love them. They are awesomesauce. Staff is friendly — the hostess is very friendly and conversational and the waitress was super nice and very on top of things whether it be filling drinks when needed or getting our orders out fast.
On the not so good side — Not a huge fan of their mixed drinks. They always taste just a bit… off. Not just this location, pretty across the board at any Applebee’s.

Just left there and decided to sign up for Unilocal.Obviously Unilocal can’t hurt Applebee’s too much, much but this one in carbondale really had a bad taste… Literally. The food tastes like it was made on a Tuesday and served on a Thursday. Everything had a reheated feel. I’m not a foodie, but $ 30 for 1 adult and 1 child made me think I should have gotten food made in the same month as my visit. The waitress was nice, so two stars. They don’t have any hot waitresses anymore. Bummer…
