If you enjoy being belittled and talked down to by your Starbucks cashier, this is the place to go! I came in and ordered my drink and the older lady who took my order, Caroline(with the short, dark brown hair), was very unfriendly to begin with. Maybe mixing two different teas together was too complex of a a drink order to place. Anyway, upon receiving my drink from the counter, the barista told me very nicely that I had been overcharged and I could go back to the counter and get a refund, which was really nice of her to tell me –otherwise I would not have noticed.(yes, only 50¢ mis-charged, but we work hard for our money). The barista told Caroline what had happened, and upon reaching the counter, Caroline scoffingly glanced at me, pulled two quarters out of the tip jar, and hastily put them on the counter — along with the heavily sarcastic comment«here you go, this will take you far!». I was taken aback by her demeaning comment that I could only respond to her with a confused, «excuse me?»… To which she responded with a laugh and mocking grin. I ended up speaking with the shift lead, Jason, who handled the situation wonderfully. I hope this helps to find a solution to this issue; I would never want anyone to feel the way Caroline made me feel! If anything, maybe she should only work in the back of the house if she has a problem interacting with people.

I live right around the corner and hate using this Starbucks and generally try to avoid it. It is consistently under staffed. The staff working there come off as rude partly because they are understaffed. Even when it isn’t crowded they seem to have attitude. And today my iced green tea tastes like it was made in a coffee pot. Not a zen or relaxing environment. After +10 unpleasant visits I had to breakdown and write a review. I’ll keep using the lumberyard location. The service model is better there

My office is right across the street from this Starbucks so I go here from time to time to get a coffee and a bagel. This time, I asked for a cream cheese at the front while I ordered. Mind you, the people at the register are usually awesome every time. This time was not. My cashier slid my card and then literally looked right over my head to the next customer and said«Next», she didn’t offer a receipt or anything like that. And then, my bagel is finally ready and I looked in the bag to make sure my order was right.(It wasn’t) So, I asked another girl for my cream cheese. She LITERALLY rolled her eyes at me, didn’t say a word, stomped over to the fridge, pulled out a cream cheese and walked about halfway over to the counter and threw it across the counter. LOL. I’m just irritated because that’s not how I want to start off my work day and I normally don’t even write long rants on Unilocal… But today is the day.

It’s a great location to sit outside and meet people. However, You can never find a place to sit inside and the patio searing is hard to come by and outside the WIFI isn’t that great. I don’t usually like their drinks and I was reassured of this here.

I’m a big fan of… most… Starbucks stores. My drink is consistently delicious at this one, and I can tell that they care about quality. In particular, I like the décor of this location. It’s got plenty of seating, and space outside. The staff is usually pretty awesome. Like most coffee shops, the condiment bar could use a bit more attention, but for the most part, it’s your standard Starbucks with your standard employees who will go out of their way to make you happy, unless you’re an awful person. In which case, be sure to expect decaf.

I got a tall black coffee; it tasted/smelled of chemicals and now my mouth is tingly. I should have tossed it after the first sip, but I drank half of it thinking it was just me. It was definitely the coffee. Or whatever it was that I just drank. Won’t be going back.

The internet in this Starbucks is shoddy, it’s taking forever and the service bars are going up and down. I only come to starbucks and buy overpriced lattes or iced tea, so that I can get work done on their wi-fi at the same time. The tea is good, bathroom was clean.

I avoid this Starbucks like the plague. The manager guy who works here is creepy and the employees aren’t friendly. There are many Starbucks in the area so skip this one.

This is a larger than normal sized store in a great location. The line ebbs and flows but the workers here are efficient no matter how many people just walked in the door ahead of you. The noise level is the same as what you’d find in other locations. The folks working here are very nice and quickly recognize and greet the regular customers. Only a couple of blocks away from the beach should you decide to take a walk with your cup of coffee.

Super slow location and my drinks are usually wrong. Two stars instead of one because it’s coffee. Two stars instead of five because the baristas are not efficient at multitasking, never apologize for the wait, thank you for your tip, or acknowledge their mistakes. Today most recently I ordered a PSL… kids temperature… with a pump of chai. What do I get? A basic PSL that is heated to the normal undrinkable temp. The steam wand was caked with dried milk. So if I get sick, I guess I’ll know why. Blah.

Absolutely my favorite Starbucks, I spent a lot of time here when I am editing photos for work. Lovely staff & attracts the best people! I always enjoy my afternoons spent here!

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Starbucks or anywhere in general. And Honestly, this is one star too many. I blame the supervisor DAVID if anyone. I initially came in to purchase a coffee for myself and a lemonade tea for a friend. The girl at the register was not even paying attention to my order, as she forgot to add a couple of things to my drink and I had to mention it to her as she was charging me and I didn’t get so much as a «sorry». After waiting for about 10 minutes for my drinks, the supervisor David called my name to inform me that they were actually out of lemonade, and had been for a while and he didnt know why the girl let me order it(that he hired and is supervising). He told me he would make me any other drink to make up for it, but seeing as it was a drink for a friend I had to call my friend to see what another option would be. In the mean time, DAVID told me i had«two options– make the drink without lemonade or he would make me something else.» I have a problem with being told I have ONLY«two options» after i ALREADYPAIDFORTHELEMONADE. I then told him that I would like the drink without the lemonade and if there is a price difference I’d like to be refunded which then he told me that i was just«in need of voicing how upset i was» and that he «wasnt going to fire the girl at the register over this.» — all of which was very uncalled for and inappropriate to say to the customer. I then had to stop him and remind him that I am the customer and he should not talk to me this way. He told me he was the supervisor which makes me concerned about the future of this business. If the supervisor cannot give decent customer service or have the intellectual capacity to understand that a customer wants what he/she pays for then there is a bigger issue here. The girl at the register needs to be trained, DAVID needs to be replaced.

I don’t know where to start with my review, but this has got to be the busiest Starbuck’s on the planet, and the staff continues to pump out drinks filled with smiles. The corporate training must be amazing especially since I read a little bit about it in my book called, «I’m there for you, baby.» Sara is consistently making drinks quickly on the busiest of mornings, Peter is helping people over the counter with their orders, Emma is keeping the place tidy, and Emily always has a happy grin on her face. I recognized Simone from the Del Mar location and it is a pleasure to have her in Cardiff as I frequent this location the most. I’m a huge fan of Frappy Hour even though the staff must hate it and love all those sweet drinks, but have drastically cut down my sugar intake. I’ve been drinking French Vanilla Lattes(vanilla and hazelnut) and they are amazing. Sara makes the best ones. The Shaken Iced Teas are great too and the Wi-Fi is always working well for me. I continue to work in a public place because it allows me to get out of the house and meet people, but stay focused when I need to. I’m the Duke of this place and don’t plan on losing it anytime soon so chances are you will see me here a few times a week enjoying my cup of joe and laptop work.

Every time I come to this location, they are never that busy, Which is good and why I like coming to this one. Usually its 3 or 4 of them working, So I never have to wait too long. I would rather get my coffee at somewhere local but when I do end up going to Starbucks it will be this location and honestly, they have always been great so I can’t complain.

I’ve been to this Starbucks(mediocre service) a few times but this time, there was poor customer service. Since they started offering coconut milk, I get my caramel iced coffee w/coconut milk creamer. When I went in during the morning I ordered what I always order. The guy(half shaved haircut w/centre portion hairs pushed backwards) who took my order was about to charge me $ 0.60 extra so I told him, «I’ve been to many other Starbucks stores even here and never got charged extra for coconut milk creamer.» Then he said, «they’re not doing their job and you are supposed to get charged but I’ll do it this time for you.» He was RUDE and made it seem like he was doing me a favor. So I explained that there is coconut milk(extra cost) and coconut milk creamer(free), right? At that moment he thought about it and was like… «That’s right! I guess I learned something new today, sorry.» I’m glad he apologized but since the beginning he never smiled or greeted me.

I go to starbucks for one thing: WiFi. I buy a drink because that’s customary, it’s not something I need or want. I expect the WiFi to be able to handle more than 8 – 10 users that aren’t watching full feature films. However, I arrived at 8:25 pm and haven’t even been able to load two web pages and facebook. The barista was nice about it, but after he reset the router he gave the most pathetic excuse, «well, I just reset the router but I’m not sure what else can be done, there are about 10 users here on the WiFi.» I wasted $ 3.25. I’m pretty upset about it. And I’m going to ask for a refund since I had a goal to apply for a job and can’t get that done before they close at 9:00 when I should otherwise have been able to do so.

This is a great Starbucks because it right next to the Seaside Market and close to the beach. It’s nice and spacious inside and there’s a really large outdoor patio. This location has a Clover machine that makes the small batch premium coffee. Nice! The staff is always friendly and quick to serve with a smile.

This starbucks is slightly above the rest. Why, you might ask? 1. It has a clover brew machine! So you hate the over-roasted coffees offered by Starbucks? Well, you may as well have their really RARE single origin over-roasted coffees! Cuz if you want burnt coffee… may as well have burnt gold! 2. Location– high ceilings, nice vibe, plenty of seats and a stones throw away from the ocean! Technically, would be a 4 star thing. but really. I can’t do it. why would you be here except that zumbar, a few blocks away and much more superior, is closed, and you need coffee?

i hate reviewing places like Starbucks and other chain franchises where you already know what you’re getting without reading a review on Unilocal.BUT! this place has expanded quite nicely in the last year. the space took over more of the shopping center and has likely doubled –if not more– its size. there are more tables and outlets and more seating arrangements for groups or individuals. the only downside i think is that it closes at about 9pm. which is pretty typical actually for the Cardiff area.
