I went to Carlsbad Health Alliance for a massage after I hurt myself at work recently. They were extremely accommodating at getting me in the day that I called, which I appreciated. The building is an older cottage, so the inside kind of resembles that. It’s nice that they have the traditional massage music playing, and water in the waiting room. The rooms are probably old bedrooms. It was cold in the room, but I’m assuming that it was because it was a cold, rainy day. I was ready to get massaged to warm up. They did have a heating blanket on the table, which was nice at first, then I was sweating in a matter of 20 minutes. The gal was nice though and told me whenever I got too hot she could turn it off. They have music playing in the room, like any massage place, but you can still hear the traffic outside, and occasionally you can hear talking from another room. My therapist, Karyn, did good, I guess my body was really knotted-up, so it was rough, but she asked a couple times if I was still comfortable. You can tell she is good at what she does, and knows what she is doing. She did a great job! I have had massages at places like Massage Envy, then places like the Spa at Torrey Pines, where they are geared towards just massages. This place compared to those isn’t really comparable. They are doing their best, and you can tell that clients love them here and come for the great service and massage, not necessarily the environment/facility.
