This is a trail in the Aviara neighborhood in Carlsbad the trail is over one and a half miles(one way). It goes through different neighborhoods within Aviara. The trail is steep in some parts, flat in others and unpaved. Dogs are allowed on leash. It’s good for kids but not for strollers because it is very uneven and steep in some parts. There are some sections of the trail that have ocean and lagoon views from the top of the hill. The trail crosses 2 streets, so there are really 3 segments of this trail. The first one by the parking area on Savannah goes up a hill with chaparral, this has some views of Batiquitos lagoon and the ocean from the top of the hill. The second segment after you cross the street is a long walk among the Eucalyptyus trees, the third section of the trail, that goes along Kestrel Drive goes up hill as soon as you cross Kestrel, and from the top you can see the Ocean again. The trail then goes very close to some homes(This was my least favorite part of the trail until it gets closer to Aviara Parkway and then it goes down into a small canyon. This is the most remote part because you are towards the bottom of the canyon. If you go left, the trail dead ends closer to Poinsettia and if you turn right the path takes you to the street on Kestrel drive. I did see some graffiti on the dead end section of this trail by Poinsettia, but saw no garbage. My favorite sections were the first 2. There are also free dog poop bags by the entrance of the trail and a sign at each one of the entrances, but no other amenities or water. The trail is also not marked and no signs on the actual trail, so I just followed the well worn path.
