The man who is the owner here is one very rude, mean spirited guy. He yells at everyone… I wouldn’t go near this store again if it was the only liquor store in Carlsbad. Really bad vibes from this guy.

I will NEVERGO in this liquor store again, the owner is RUDEASHELL. He is living proof there’s «one» born every minute! I don’t even want to give this place one star! Every time that I’ve gone in when the owner is there WITHOUT fail he says the lottery is «not working» with a nasty tone of voice and attitude, the last time I was there I asked him if it would be working anytime soon, he shouted out«NOITWON’T», I replied«really dude, really» and walked out. This guy SHOULDNOT be working in a customer based retail business of any sort.

The owner is a mental case. Went into to cash a lottery ticket and he rolled his and sneered. When I asked what the problem was he shouted, «Get the F – k out of my store». Don’t patronize this place!!! Owner is a nut job!

Not your average liquor store. This place has a great selection of beer-from local craft breweries to not so local ones. I have impressed and surprised friends with thoughtful albeit last minute housewarming gifts from this place. The staff greet you and offer to help you find what you are looking for. The only thing missing is a sandwich shop but wait, there is a deli at Albertson’s and a café in the same strip mall! It is a little more pricey than some larger retailers but you are paying for the convenient location, near the village and beach!

I parked on the public street in front of this liquor store and immediately a car pulls up and some guy starts yelling at me to move. «Hey don’t park here! This is my store! Where are you going? Move!» Turns out it’s the owner of the store. Me, being a nice guy, move my car into his open lot with 6 – 8 open spaces. The guy then walks over and starts harassing me, yelling at me, threatening to have my car towed, cause it’s his personal private lot. He was literally upset about having to carry 3 or 4 boxes an additional 10 – 20 feet. Scratch that, 1 box, he had his employee do most of it. The whole time his woman friend is watching rolling her eyes. I then move my car back where I started and make a mental note never to patronize this place. I mean the owner just went off on me for no reason. What the hell? Someone call Gordon Ramsay so he can start a new show: liquor store nightmares.

Very surly and rude store clerk. He was on the phone and was very put out to sell me a lotto ticket. I will never set foot in this store again. Very strange vibe going on here. My star is a negative one star.

This place is on State Street and goes around the corner on Beech. I remember corner stores like this when I was growing up in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles. A big, boxy store with no windows, jammed with stuff. This one seems to focus most on liquor, which I guess is appropriate since it’s called Fiesta Liquor. :) In my case, I had been to my seamstress around the corner and I needed an ice cream. This looked like the place. The guy behind the counter(big guy who looks sorta rough) was really very nice, and I got what I was lookin’ for: a big drumstick ice cream bar, just like when I was a kid. Yum.

If you’re planning on catching the Coaster from Carlsbad Village to downtown San Diego/Del Mar Racetrack/Del Mar Fair(or anywhere in between) but you need beer — STAT? This is your place! There is always a rough guy, I would consider him a «man’s man», working behind the counter who is helpful and makes an effort to have a conversation every time I’ve been in. They carry a ton a great wines and this is the closest store to the train station in the village. They were selling used furniture on one side(inside) of the store…(?) It was a little janky looking, but I didn’t care because I wasn’t in the market for furniture at the time! RECOMMENDATION: Hit Mas Fina Cantina before swinging by Fiesta Liquor on the way to the train!

They have the best selection of wine in the neighborhood.
