Cheap and fairly decent sandwiches. The staff are friendly and helpful and patient. The items used sometimes don’t always seem fresh and the bread really isn’t anything to write home about but you’re getting what you pay for. A $ 5 sandwich shouldn’t be to die for. It’s cost saving and quick and easy. I’ll be back I’m sure but if I’m truly hankering for a mouth watering sub I’ll be at SubMarina or somewhere else!

The staff is friendly here but they move so slowly. It takes forever for them to make a sandwich and the line usually gets backed up especially at lunch time. Don’t visit this Subway if you’re in a hurry but if you have some time to kill go for it.

Consistently understaffed. Wait times are ridiculous. Whoever is in charge of staffing needs to think more.

Put my order in via the internet. Two employees in back, one in front stocking chips. No sub when it was supposed to be ready. Myself and another customer waited while these three figured out what they were supposed to be doing. Maybe it’s just me, but when employees outnumber customers and a line forms, the employees should do something more than just stare. So much for ordering ahead…

Typical Subway fare, sub-par service. Although this Subway has been«soft» open for some time now, I went on the Saturday of their grand opening at about 5:15pm. I generally enjoy sandwiches from Subway, and went armed with a flyer that had some good deals on it. I was the only person in the restaurant. I took advantage of the buy-one-six-inch-sub-and-a-drink, get-one-free deal. The preparer started with two foot-long bread loaves. I reminded her I had ordered six-inchers, and she looked at me blankly for a few moments. Then she seemed to get it, put the foot-long loaves aside, and rummaged around behind the counter for some six-inch pieces of bread. I asked for jack cheese on one of the sandwiches; rather than tell me they had no jack cheese, the preparer put pepper jack on the sandwich. Fortunately I saw the peppers and was able to make my own decision as to what to substitute. At the register, I pointed to my flyer and asked for some of their grand-opening raffle tickets. On the door was a poster saying«Rafffle for free prizes every hour until 6pm!» Although it was only 5:15, I was informed by the cashier, who seemed to be bored or distracted, that the last raffle had been held at 5pm. I shut up and ate my sandwich, which I enjoyed. I’ll probably be back, as this location is convenient for me and I do like their sandwiches, but there are a lot of other choices in the Carlsbad Village where I feel a whole lot more welcomed.

Rode my bike from Dana Point to Carlsbad and stopped here for lunch before riding back to Dana Point . They have spinach! and prepared the turkey sandwich well. This store is newish, just off the 5, and has a nice patio to sit out and watch the Carlsbad people drive by. This Subway suffers from the same disease that many restaurants in Southern California suffer from: Dirty Tables(and chairs sometimes.) When I went out onto the patio, all the tables were available – but they all had food on them from people eating before. I had to clean my own table off. While I was eating, the clerk comes out and sweeps the floor, takes his bare hand and brushes just some of the food from one of the dirty tables onto the floor leaving food on the table. Does not return to clean the table or other table with food on it with a rag. No one cares, or takes pride in their job anymore – or maybe this is considered acceptable cleanliness in his world?

well, the long awaited, much anticipated opening of the new SUBWAY in old CARLSBAD has finally come to pass. only had to stroll across the parking lot from my office for a foot long TURKEYBREAST and BLACKFORRESTHAM. the wife and i had lunch for five bucks and only 280 calories a piece. like mine with all the veggies and a little CHIPOTLEMAYO on toasted oat. decent little sandwich. can’t beat the price.
