The Children’s Place

My email is constantly being spammed by this company. I get probably 30 emails a month from them and have considered removing myself from their list but I have 3 kids and I DO want to know when a good sale is happening so I have refrained. Today I received an email stating that everything in the store was $ 3.99 and under, in stores only. Luckily I called my local store before I went down there because there was no such sale going on. Then I spent 45 minutes on the phone with customer service and they told me that I had to be the one to call around to find participating stores. There was no disclaimer on the email stating that not all stores were participating. There was no list of participating stores. This is a blatant bait and switch and false advertising and it is illegal. This company depends on its consumers to stay in business, as do all retail establishments. Trying to trick consumers into coming into the stores for a false sale is bad for business. The last supervisor that I spoke with on the phone did call around for me to see where the closest store that was participating was and the only thing that she came up with was an hour from me, and it wasn’t the whole store like the false advertisement stated, it was just a few items on the clearance rack. I am tired of this and I will not be shopping at these stores anymore. I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB because bait and switch is illegal.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have received in a clothing store. Came here to shop for my toddler son planning to buy several things. I would have spent around $ 80 – 100 easy because he needed quite a bit, but just grabbed a couple quick items and got out quickly.
Why was it the worst customer service ever… Because there was ZEEEERROOOOO attention paid to the fact that we were in the store! Zero, zero… Zero! Not eye contact, definitely not a word to us until I asked for a size, not a word to me during checkout. But ironically, I did get a spiel about the survey at the bottom of the receipt at the end of the transaction. That made laugh a little. By the way, we were the only 2 customers in the store and there were 2 managers working. Ridiculous. If I didn’t need long sleeve shirts for my son I wouldn’t have spent a dime. I sure didn’t pick up more items than we needed to make it to the next time we could get out to make a shopping trip.
If two supervisors treated me with such little regard, imagine how their employees treat guests.
What was so much more important than selling their merchandise? Ironically, again, chit chatting about a sales contest within their store or district. When I notified the two ladies that were behind the counter the entire time that I was ready and asked if I was at the correct register, I got a «mmhmm.» She was too busy talking sales and contest numbers with the other supervisor. Uhh… Really?
This management team needs a wake up call. I will never shop at this location again. I will shop another retailer.
Disappointed.

So I finally got the «file» in the mail. It listed every return I had made at every store! not only the children’s place but others like Gymboree, burlington coat factory to mention a few. I guess the eye in the sky is watching everything we do… everytime you make a return with no receipt they ask for your drivers license it is recorded.
I am no thief or scam artist I simply had a lot of gifts to return, I was not getting cash for theses returns just store credit. Anyways/​
I had my mother in law return the items to the children’s place and get me a gift card so I could go back and get what I want. After that I will never shop at this store again.

An okay selection of clothes and shoes for your young child.
Went here during their «monster sale — up to 65% off» but for some reason, 4 of the 5 items that we purchased were full price.
They lured us in with the big sale signs and hooked us with the high prices.

Love the store, the discounts and the quality clothes! The only bad thing is we’d spend our whole pay check here if we could.
