Bottom Line: Lovely atmosphere, mesmerizing sunsets, good drinks and decent food but service is hit or miss. Twenty20 is sorta a go to spot for Happy Hour among my coworkers. We all pretty much agree that service is hit or miss but I guess we keep holding out hope that service will consistently improve. Moreover, often times we seem to leave hungry and people often want to go out for a «real dinner» post happy hour. Having said all of that, the draw at Twenty20 is the patio which has a nice outdoor fireplace with couches, various tables under the pergola and sunset views. The patio can accommodate groups of eight to 12 but the wait staff usually gets too overwhelmed so perhaps a smaller outing is better here. Aside from the ambiance, another big hit with the my happy hour buddies is the Maple Bacon Bourbon drink. I myself tend to go for a local craft beer or Sangria but bourbon fan will probably enjoy a meaty Knob Creek cocktail. Although Twenty20 is located at the Sheaton, there is plentiful free self-parking and the restaurant is easy to get to, both of which I appreciate.

I am often leery of resort restaurants, as they tend to overpromise and under deliver. That is not the case here. This place is down the street from me, I don’t know what took me so long to make it! My husband and I operate like 70 year old retirees, which means dinner at 5 pm. Last Friday night was no exception, so we arrived early and beat the crowds. We sat in the dining room, and I much enjoyed their lounge like seating. The chairs are very comfortable. We started with some apps as they were half off on the happy hour menu(and you don’t have to sit in the bar, bonus!). Their house made ricotta is delicious. It is creamy and the honey adds nice contrast. Even the little toasts that came with it were piping hot. The calamari fries were ok, not that memorable. The ricotta made up for it. I can’t wait to come back and try their shishito peppers! We then had the burrata caprese and lobster bisque, both delicious. We shared the osso bucco for an entrée. It was a tad fatty, but a nice portion and the black eye peas stew that it was served on top of was divine. On top of all the great food, our server, Stephanie, was so great. Prompt and nice and we really enjoyed talking hockey with her(even though she is a Kings fan!). Service was so good, we will probably ask for her by name on our return visit. One of the things great about this place is that most of these higher end restaurants have such predictable selections. While you will see some common items on this menu, they also throw in a few things I have never seen before, like the ricotta and peppers mentioned above. Also, complementary valet parking!

Very nice space and ambiance. At night fire flames with a water fall if you sit outside. Food for the money was just OK. I had stake … not impressed with that dish. I would come again during the day or evening to see the view as the restaurant sits up on a hill with wide open space to look out to and try fish like on the picture.

Just went here for business and the food was great, LOVED the outside patio, and service was very good. If I lived in this area I would definitely host parties, or some kind of event there as the courtyard is gorgeous, the outside dining area with the firepits and fire and infinity pool was super cool. Great Christmas decorations! Highest point in Carlsbad too. Great place for a date night.

Went for the lunch buffet during a conference at the hotel. The whole meal was a little awkward because we did not seem to have 1 waiter. At one point my boyfriend asked for a Coke and 3 different waiters came back with cokes. Even though the service was… questionable… the food seemed to be alright. The truffle Mac n cheese was my highlight and the bf said that the chicken was amazing. However, for the price, I’d leave the hotel.

Perhaps this wasn’t their best night but my dinner on Thanksgiving was all I have to judge this restaurant by. The menu was not their normal one due to the holiday. That being said, there were four entrees available on the buffet: roast turkey(of course), porchetta with cider sauce, prime rib, and salmon. My wife and i did not try the salmon but the other mains were decent, if unremarkable. The real problems came on other items. For example, when we went to the buffet line, they were totally out of mashed potatoes. I am not sure how that happens on Thanksgiving. The sweet potatoes I got were uncooked to the point of being inedible. My wife seemed to get some that were ok so I am guessing two batches were mixed together. The green beans were nearly raw. I like my green beans to have a snap to them but these were simply raw. The desserts all looked and tasted like they came from the freezer. The pumpkin pie was served from cheap disposable pie tins. As soon as I saw it I thought«Mrs. Smith’s Pumpkin Pie from Wal-Mart». If it was not that it was not much better. This was one Thanksgiving where my waistline did not suffer. Compared to other experiences going out to eat on Thanksgiving, this actually was above average. I have really been disappointed by other places in the past. Twenty/20 was not great but it was better than others I have had.

My husband and I brought my family out here to have brunch. It is a nice place to eat. The ambiance, the service, and the food is great. We sat outside next to the fire and it was nice. We highly recommend this restaurant whether you’re visiting or local.

Better than solid hotel restaurant. Good menu choices. Love the deviled eggs and mussels appetizers. Really nice burgers served gastropub style on wooden planks. Dessert shots are fun way to end the meal. Didn’t have any this time but it’s a rotating selection. Outdoor seating with fire pits just as you would expect in Cali. Friendly staff and they don’t care if you sit there for long hours while having work meetings– a common occurrence for me.

I wanted to LOVE this place. It’s atmosphere is so beautiful, but it lacks in other huge areas. I am in love with food and this place disappointed on food and service. It may be pretty but it wasnt worth the money we paid. Lets start off with being sat down. There was some confusion about whose table we were because no one helped us for over 20 minutes. Yep, l did end up timing it. The poor water guy looked at us with pity; we didnt even have water glasses to fill so we couldnt even get any water. We realized our waitress had about 6 tables. She was very nice but overwhelmed. And the other table with children climbing(no joke!) over it with wasted mothers wanting more champagne were definitely a priority over us DINKs. Not smart ppl, we have a lot more money to spend than ppl with kids. We did request to sit by the windows/fire and that was her section. We finally were able to flag someone down to help us. We then ended up getting a different waitress but she wasnt really that thrilled to take us, either. Lets skip to the food. We paid over $ 100 for not great food. In fact, our bill was almost double that. I ordered from the regular menu as well as the tapas menu. Do yourself and skip those all together. If you are willing to shell out $ 6 for a burnt drumstick with little more than a bite, please go right ahead. Or the olives… they ALL had pits in them. Ummmm no thanks. I dont like to play with my food. This is supposed to be a high end establishment! The only thing that speaks high end is the view and tiny portions with a high price tag. That being said, the music on Thursdays was pretty cool. But other than the ambiance, the service and food were very subpar for the whopping price tag. I would only come back to give it a second try if we had friends that were jonesing to come… and hope for the best that our first experience was a total fluke, but based on other reviews, l wouldnt bet on it. And we have other restaurants where we get better everything, so we will stick with those for the time being. I truly believe this is more for tourists to come and get trapped while visiting Legoland. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice… well truthfully, l am not one to be fooled twice. So we will take our money elsewhere for a nice evening. West Steakhouse would be a great place for the same price and MUCH better service and food.

Went here for girls date night San Diego restaurant week! Great price for the food. The food was all delicious. The environment nice with great guitarist. The service was very good and everyone very nice! I’m only giving three stars because a piece of plastic came out of my soup and into my mouth. It was a rather large piece too. They said they’d give me a salad then brought me the wrong one. Although the food was still great(even the soup), you go to a place like this for the experience and I’m not sure I felt taken care of after finding plastic in my food that could have potentially hurt me. Although the food was discounted for SDRW already, I would have expected a little more accommodation.

This review is for the food and beverage team at Twenty/20. Leah and Mike have been a joy to work with for the past year. I searched various places in the Carlsbad/Oceanside area for a location to host a monthly mixer and this location exceeded my expectations. First, Leah has been extremely accommodating and easy to communicate with. They have a beautiful patio area with fire features and heat lamps for the cool evenings. The staff has been exceptional. We will typically have 15 – 20 attendees and they’ll assign one server who doesn’t mind each person opening a separate tab. They never leave us with an empty glass and always remember our orders. We occasionally order appetizers and my favorite are the bacon wrapped dates.

Just found my new Monday night spot, which is considered Industry night for Twenty20. They have some of the best liquor selections I have ever seen and craft cocktails made by veteran bartenders. Had the Sazerac, which was delicious and similar to an old fashioned, but lined the glass with Absinthe to add to the nose of the cocktail, some sugar, spooned the ice to break it down and add the rye. Loved it! Can’t wait to try the Mezcal cocktail next time and have dinner. For industry people, the bar tabs with food get cut in half. Then you know what to do by hooking up a fat tip and not even paying more than the original bill. Everybody wins! See you next Monday. The scene is mostly industry peeps with light music and conversations going on. I’ll definitely try the Calamari next time too.

There are a few other times that I’ve been to Twenty/20 prior to this evening, but that was five years ago. Tonight I came by for some good food. and I was definitely impressed in a good way the same as when I came long time ago. ;-) My server this evening was Ricky, and he was a great server which showed from beginning to end as he acknowledged our presence upon first greeting that he would be right back and at the end with his recommendation of finishing the drinks outside on the patio after paying. It was a lovely evening to be outdoors after eating inside. For the order tonight I tried the Twenty/20 Pisco Sour which was a nice cocktail from presentation to taste with the perfect blend. As for my second cocktail I stuck to Pisco and created my own. My appetizer of the evening was the shishito peppers which were freshly cooked warm with a hint of sea salt, and it comes with spicy romesco sauce. I loved that it was not too spicy because I’m weak with spices, so it was pretty good as I’ve had some bad shishito peppers. so happy this was worth it. Next was the flatbread which was the wild mushroom flatbread and this was mouthwatering with its softness and crispy crunch topped with fontina, roasted red peppers, arugula, and truffle oil with bacon added on at an extra charge. This was my favorite item of the evening! And then I tried the prime rib. This comes with potatoes au gratin! This order is a part of their Sunday evening special(5:30−10:30pm) and starts at $ 20, however I opted for larger portions it will costs more, but still a good deal. It had a good amount of fat on the edges, but the meat was moist and tender dipped into the succulent au jus sauce. It paired well with the potatoes au gratin which was rich and creamy so good! The server then brought out complimentary bread fresh from the oven that comes with herb butter which added more to me feeling super stuffed! In conclusion, I would recommend this spot for a nice, upscale meal with fine service where you pay for what you get. This is a great restaurant for special occasions and worth every penny. Perfect dinner, 5 stars all the way!

Went here with co-workers and had a great time. We got some HH starters : Fig & pig: sweet & salty with crispy flat bread my fave combo ! Brussels sprouts: had bacon but not crispy the sprouts were & nicely seasoned Fried calamari: was okay needed more seasoning and batter Fried shrimp: batter okay I got the skirt steak salad with cilantro lime dressing & asked for organic greens which they accommodated Got 2 of the martini w/chambord– yum they put raw sugar on the rim Claudia our server was wonderful, helpful and checked in with us My coworker didn’t like the salmon w/potato purée, let Claudia know it was okay that she’ll keep it but i think another server over heard us talking about it. I suggest maybe they need more seasoning or salt? But I think the pumpkin purée & blueberry was not a great combo. Anyways the manager Chris came out to talk to her & apologized we didn’t have her original short ribs order & comped the salmon dish. He was really nice & considerate! We will be definitely be back !

So close to give this place a 5 Star. Whenever I am in the City of Carlsbad I love to come to this restaurant. Well no, this is my favorite spot. The entrees are always on point and they have brought in The Wine Spector to pair it up with your meals. The ambiance is really chill and lounge. When it comes to the music playing in the background, you can’t go wrong with a little Thievery Corporation. I have had breakfast here as well. It read well on paper but it could not compare to what they serve on their later menu. So close but fell short. Just like the Seattle Seahawks against the New England Patriots.

I had the opportunity to lunch at Twenty20 this weekend and boy it is a nicely done restaurant. It is important to note that this is located in the Sheraton Hotel in Carlsbad. The remote location gives Twenty20 a good customer base, there are no other restaurants within 5 minutes or on the hotel grounds. I would consider it pretty good as far as hotel dining is concerned. I don’t usually share my Unilocal math, but I will make an exception here because it is fundamental to this review. Facility: 5 stars Food: 2 stars Service: 3.5 stars Twenty20 therefor gets a 3.5 star rating, which is ok. They have some things to work out. The restaurant has an unobstructed 180 degree ocean view and nice décor with one of the fire/water features that look stunning at twilight. I loved the restaurant itself. The food on the other hand is nothing special. My husband got a french dip sandwich and he liked it. I was in the mood for a substantial salad and they were very accommodating and let me substitute the chicken and the bacon for shrimp on their cobb. The salad had 4 medium sized shrimp, which to me is stingy. The lettuce itself contained a lot of the white«bones» and was smothered in a dressing that tasted store bought. The charred corn were not plump and juicy and I was unimpressed. They took it away and i ordered fish tacos. The fish tacos were better, they use small portions of grilled cod in a soft tortilla. I would not order them again. Our waitress was a sweetheart, and she sent the floor manager over to ask about my salad. I told her about the meh corn, lettuce, dressing and shrimp in great detail as I sat waiting for my fish tacos. My husband had already finished his sandwich so the flow of our meal was greatly disrupted. We spent quite a bit of our meal chatting with management about ways to improve the food. We were not offered a glass of wine, appetizer or dessert for our inconvenience and ruined meal which they should have offered given the amount of time I spent giving them information. She then dissected my salad with the chef and returned to check on the tacos. She told me that the dressing was way too heavy but insisted that the corn was fresh. I am not sure if it is freshly grilled frozen corn or what, she must not have tasted it or she would never defend that corn. They have a new head chef in the restaurant who is learning the restaurant and intends to recreate the menu so I think that it will get better. I may come back and check it out again if I see some of my Unilocal friends give it good reviews.

Hotel dining with style. This place is inside the Sheraton Carlsbad Hotel. We were staying at a near by time share property and looking to have some apps and drinks with a nice ambience. This was the perfect place. They have this really cool fire pit thing out on their patio that creates an awesome sort of glow out there. It’s perfect for a leisurely dinner. Our server was very stuffy, but not mean or anything — he just seemed to take the whole thing very very seriously and be very precise about everything. I thought he was sort of like a character from a movie. The custom cocktails that I had were really good. The Ruby something and then another drink that had orange in it. I wish I could remember the names because they were both awesome.

Twenty20 is an incredible restaurant. It’s located right in the lobby of the Sheraton Carlsbad Hotel where I stayed for a week. The reason why I really enjoy this restaurant so much aside from the delicious reasonably priced food is the customer service. The customer service here is impeccable. The servers, hostesses, & busboys are beyond professional & sweet here. They know me by name & automatically give me my favorite booth. The staff here is patient, efficient, & all smiles. Thats another reason why I keep coming back here. Dinner is from 5PM to 10PM, Monday-Sunday. The dinner menu is not extensive but the executive chef Robert Carr did a great job featuring Tapas(small plates), Greens(salads), Sides, The Standards(entrees) & Flatbreads. I’ve had breakfast here, lunch & now dinner. There fresh baked bread is amazing. The butter is infused with garlic. I’ve had the Roasted Chicken Flatbread & Classic Caesar Salad. If you’re in Carlsbad & staying at the Sheraton be sure to come here.

This is a review just for their take out food, the quality of food being made to-go is no where near the quality of in store dinning. The two salads I ordered to go were missing avocado and asparagus and where not the quality of food when you eat in their main restaurant, given that the food is the same cost as if you were in their restaurant it is a major bummer.

Was in legoland with another family. Went to this restaurant for breakfast and dinner. We had a total of 8 people and there is small print on the menu that they will charge 18% gratuity. They had breakfast buffet for $ 20 which is OK, but I wish they had an omelet or waffle station for this price. Dinner was ok, they had a kids buffet for $ 10, I wished I could have just ordered from the menu. As for dessert, they leave five small desserts on your table. It is up to you if you want them or not. if you eat them they charge you, if you don’t eat them they won’t charge you. We ate our desserts, then afterwards we thought, how many tables were ours desserts on? And how many people touched and smelled them with their nose and eyes Before we ate them and got charged? Now I am getting grossed out.
