Excellent source of great-​quality new and antique hand-​knotted rugs (Persian, Oriental, Peshawar, and the like)
We’d been looking literally two years for a carpet that would work in a hard-​to-​fit space (it had to match other rugs and the area itself is irregularly shaped). We discovered this company online through their 800-​Get-​a-​Rug site (They are also known as S&H Rugs and as such, we have also put the same review under that name).
I absolutely love that this company displays a great portion of their merchandise online, with excellent, true-​to-​life photos, exact measurements, and prices. After perusing their website we were able to pinpoint one particular rug that looked like a great choice for our needs and they kindly had it waiting for us when we came to the showroom to look around. Lo and behold, the rug was exactly as pictured and even though we looked at some other styles during our visit, we ultimately wound up purchasing the rug we’d seen online. You can also order online but we wanted to see the various options in person.
The managers are lovely to work with and very knowledgeable. There is no pressure and they truly seem to want you to find the perfect piece, regardless of the price. It’s also a nice touch that they bring you hot tea when you first arrive. The customer service at this place is excellent – they are extremely attentive before, during and after your shopping experience.
Appointments are strongly suggested so they can focus on each customer individually.
We have more rug shopping to do and will definitely return to S&H/1800getarug!

I had such a great experience buying from this store that I had to write a review… they don’t seem to have many reviews on Unilocal.I’d been searching for an odd sized rug for a long time (8’x16’) and I came across a listing they had posted through
for an antique rug. I called them directly to ask if they could help me identify the colors (as computer monitors are notoriously off from real life). The salesman was SO helpful, looking up close matches to Benjamin Moore colors so I could be confident in the color before buying online. The rug came, and I’m so happy– I think I paid half what it would have been had I gone shopping at the big, well known rug stores in Manhattan.

I shopped around locally and the prices were so high! After a little research I found these guys and have already purchased two new rugs for way less than I expected.

I purchased a rug from this company’s website on Monday and my rug was shipped right away and arrived 2 days later. Customer service was very responsive and sent confirmatory information and tracking info right away. The salesman walked me through the photos on the website to show a picture that most closely reflected the color in person (I bought it online). The rug that arrived is beautiful and exactly as described. I was nervous to spend so much money on a rug I hadn’t seen in person, but I am happy I did! I would definitely use them again. Highly recommend.

These guys also go by the name 1 – 800 Get a Rug. I found them originally on Amazon, when I wanted to get a rug for my newly redecorated bedroom. I looove the rug! It is even prettier in person than it was in the picture. Within a couple weeks I had ordered a rug for our dining room. Unfortunately, I let a local rug place treat the rug to make it stain-​resistant and the treatment bled the colors together, so my yellow border looks dingy from the blue next to it. But that’s the fault of the rug cleaning place, not these guys.
These rugs are both stunning and reasonably priced. Even the owner of the rug cleaning place commented that my $ 2800 rug was «a $ 5000 rug.» When I redecorate my living room they will be the first place I look for a new living room rug!
