Went to Troon because we heard they don’t have Pinot Noir, which for many is a negative but for us we were quite content! Claude works only three days but he made the experience fun and educational! He set the mood for having fun and we had a great tasting. Per other suggestions we really enjoyed the Druids fluid! It was a nice smooth table wine but for us it had the taste we enjoyed. We ended up buying 4 bottles there and will be back. On Saturdays I believe he said it’s like a party in their charming courtyard with tastings and a band!

This is the only winery we have ever joined as members. MMM! The Carlton tasting room staff are always friendly and cool plus the mother ship winery down south is gorgeous. What’s not to like?

I was looking for a specific wine and the woman who helped me was so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I could have just chatted with her all afternoon and would have been content. I liked the look and feel of the place and hope to spend more time there on a future visit. I haven’t tried the wine I purchased there yet but was pleased with the reasonable price tag.

Went to Troon on Valentines Day. We were so impressed we almost joined the Wine Club instantly. We decided to walk around for a while but never got back. We will seriously consider it next time we’re in town.

If you like dark reds this is the place to taste. Affordable and great staff. If you are nearby on a summer Saturday they also have free live bands in the courtyard – really good ones!

A non-Pinot tasting room in Pinot country. We loved the Zinfandel, blends, meritage, and Syrah. Friendly staff… a fun time!

It’s been a few years since Troon has been what it used to be. I do like their wine, but the customer service has slowly declined in the past years. I’ve tasted at Troon a few times, and this time was not as good as the past. I think they hired a new wine maker. DRUIDSFLUID is always a delicious wine, but the one we got served this past week was a little premature. The 2012 was 4 times better than the 2013.

My parents and I went wine tasting today. They gave us a complimentary taste of the Vermentino. It was delightful, so we bought a glass for just $ 5. They had an autumn party from 1 – 4 today. We came around 5 o’clock, and they were still very happy and accommodating in making us feel welcome. We unfortunately missed the live music, but They still had a lot of food left over from their harvest party, and kindly offered us time and pleasure to indulge. They had pickled vegetables, marinated mozzarella, mushroom and cheve cheese appetizers, and brownies with jam. Everything was heavenly. We were lucky to come on such a sweet day. The tasting room was decorated with interesting paintings, and my senses indulged on all the amazing delights. I will be back.

I love this place! The Druids fluids are definitely a good standard– go-to very drinkable and approachable bottle of wine. Druids fluids-red is my favorite variety. But speaking of reds, the river guide red is a very good Dry red, it is on my top 5 list for dry reds for sure. And Herb Quady is a very talented wine maker! His semi-sparkling white is mouth– watering, taste bud quivering good. It has the perfect amount of sugar and alcohol.

A couple girlfriends and I went out for a day of wine tasting. My friend really wanted to go to Troon, because it is one of her favorites and we haven’t been there before so she wanted to show it to us. Well, when we got there I stupidly tried pulling on the door, I pulled a couple times when we realized there was a sign that said they were only open on weekends in January. We were disappointed and felt a little dumb for not seeing that sign first. We started walking away, when a girl opened the door and urged us to come inside to do a tasting even though they were closed. Her name was Emily and she is the new manager there. She told us that she was there getting things organized and cleaning, but was more than happy to do a tasting for us. She was incredibly sweet and really made us feel like she had no problem doing that for us. The wines were wonderful and the prices were affordable. I ended up walking away with the ’72 Zin, Druids Fluid, and the Holiday Cheer. My friends got a couple bottles each as well. I will be coming back to this place for sure!

I’ve been hitting Troon for over a year now… and I love Chelsea and the new lady there. I do tend to like Southern Oregon wines and a couple of the wines here do it for me. I’m not a big white fan but the Vermentino I liked. The Druid’s Fluid I like a lot, and the blend I tried today was awesome as well. I love to visit there when I’m in the area and my palate isn’t burnt out. They are always friendly and kind… and always have something new to taste. So, yes… I’m a fan! :)

I love wine tasting rooms, perhaps because I don’t think you can ever be anything but delighted and happy when you are in one! Troon was no different, beautifully appointed, and a super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Of course, it always helps when the wine is delicious with a great price point. We really enjoyed our time at Troon and would definitely come back.

Troon Vineyard is consistently one of the best wineries I have tasted since moving to Oregon three years ago. Druids Fluid red blend is an outstanding everyday throw down wine. The Cab Franc and Meritage seem to deliver every time. Though they’re based in southern Oregon, the Carlton tasting room has had me hooked. I joined the Carlton Club with my wife, no wine shipments, but extreme discounts. Only requirement is you must buy a minimum case limit within a year. I have no idea what the limit is though, since we buy wine from them every other week. If you like sparkling, try their semi-sparkling Vermintino(when next years vintage is released anyway). When they sold out my wife almost murdered someone.

I don’t know how many vineyards/tasting rooms we hit on our wine country tasting extravaganza, but I do know that this was our favorite. We loved Troon’s wines, and, even more, we loved the staff. So many tasting rooms feature snotty staff who rush you through each taste and expect that you will happily buy multiple $ 40 bottles of wine, but Troon wasn’t like that. Our sommelier was so friendly and engaged, and she was so happy to share all that she knew with us. It was a delightful experience, start to finish. The wines were great, too. We realized that we’re probably just not into Willamette Valley style wines(too heavy on the Pinot Noir, which doesn’t go with our cooking style). Troon’s vineyards are in Southern Oregon, and so their flavors are different from the others in Carlton. Their whites are crisp and delicious, and their reds are lighter – more versitle. We actually want to head down to the actual vineyard in the not-so-distant future. It seems worth the trip.

Really nice staff and excellent wines — esp Druids Fluid and their Dy Reisling. Drawbacks — took a really long time to do our tasting and the tasting fee is waived if you buy TWO bottles of wine. A little steep compared to other places but worth it.

Joni and the Troon Vineyard Carlton staff are great hosts. Check out the Summer Concert Series each Saturday from 4 – 7 pm. Great talent, wines by the glass and appetizers.
