Church Of The Wayfarer

Nice church; very nice Pastor, too!

Church of the Wayfarer has a beautiful setting in downtown Carmel. Norm, the pastor, is the best. He always has thoughtful and relevant sermons, pulling from different sources to support his message and keep it interesting. We enjoy hearing the local talent from guest musicians that participate. This was also a great place to get married!

It has always been a dream to get married at The Church of the Wayfarer since I grew up in Carmel and went to this church every Sunday. Julie Morris, the wedding coordinator, helped make this perfect dream come true. My husband and I live out of state so planning the wedding ceremony could have been a real challenge, but Julie made it very easy for us. She was very organized and helpful and guided us through each stage of the planning. We had special requests like a mini reception in the garden for our guests as we took pictures. Julie set the whole thing up and even found a volunteer to pour the drinks for us. She found singers to perform a special song for us, took care of our live butterflies (for release instead of throwing rice), promptly took care of the marriage license, found someone to video the ceremony, and even brought a candle holder from her home for use in our unity candle ceremony! She handled so many little details that really could have overwhelmed us and that made all the difference. Her demeanor was calm, caring but mostly just fun and we felt very special on our special day. We cannot thank her enough for making our wedding ceremony flawless at this beautiful church.

*This review is for a wedding I attended*
It is a beautiful place all around, but trying to attend a wedding on a saturday is terrible. There was no parking and just trying to get around was hard sine there was a lot of people walking around. We found a place to park but it was only 2 hour parking. Of couse the ceromony started late!
I’m just saying please don’t have your wedding here unless your locals!

Really lovely church with a fabulous «biblical» garden (i.e. they have an apple tree, and an olive, and a cedar, etc. with little plaques quoting the passage from the bible that they’re in, mixed in with the other flowers in this lush garden). A nice rest from the commercialism of Carmel’s main shopping strip.
