I’ve been trying to get to In Vogue for a while… I finally made it this week, prompted by an upcoming new job — always a good excuse to shop for a wardrobe and accessories! I don’t make a habit of buying all my threads from consignment; rather I use these shops as places to find the unexpected that will enhance my new stuff. In Vogue did not disappoint in this regard. My major find here was a Michael Kors black patent raincoat… so 60’s and in perfect condition. A raincoat is not something I would go out of my way to own… I usually make do with umbrellas or the mad dash in the rain from car to building instead :-) But this little beauty suited my style to a T and at a fraction of what it would have cost new. I also found a cool little shocking orange quilted jacket that will transition nicely from outerwear in the next couple of months to extra office layer beyond that. Helpful hints for InVogue: tends to be pricier than other consignments, but many of the clothes are in very good shape, some are even new with tags(buyouts, I presume) look around carefully, there are some real finds if you can get beyond the more«mature» styles lots of recognizable names, including designers. Coat/jacket/suit selection is particularly generous Lots of accessories, especially purses Cool perks for shoppers including mini bottles of iced water, cookies and a $ 3 return visit coupon on all purchase receipts
