Best wine tasting in Carmel. We went to them all, and our group of 4 each voted this as the favorite. Friendly staff, great wine, and healthy pours.

What a great tasting room! Nick was absolutely awesome. Kim and Lyn are wine club members and absolutely amazing. The wine is fabulous and I look forward to working at this tasting room soon.

Great tasting room with knowledgable staff. Chris knew his white wines and treated us to another tasting. Excellent selection of white wines. I learned a lot from Chris and would love to come back here. Look forward to enjoy my bottle of Scheid wine at home.

Our favorite stop on the Carmel Wine Walk(available for 9 tastings for $ 65.) It’s $ 10 for 4 tastings, white, red, or a mix of both otherwise. They open at noon, earlier than many tasting rooms in Carmel. They rotate the wines in their tasting rooms every couple of weeks. When we were there they had a Pinot, and 3 blends… a GSM, a nice table wine(10 different varietals) and a 50⁄50 Cab/Syrah blend. If you like big reds, this is the spot for you! It’s worth the extra $ 5 to taste the Claret if you like a good Bordeaux blend.

Wine tasting over the weekend in Carmel with my family brought me to Scheid. It wasn’t at the top of my list, but I had a 2 for 1 tasting pass. The tasting room was pretty crowded when we went in, but managed to find some room at the bar. Scheid offers a red, white, & mixed flight($ 20). I opted for the mixed flight that started with a sparkling wine — sold! I found their sparkling to be quite nice, but the rest of their wines were pretty underwhelming. Most of their Pinots were young & pretty tannic so it wasn’t a pleasurable experience for me. Unsatisfied, we left without buying anything. Lovely tasting room just underdeveloped wine.

My boyfriend and I came here on recommendation from another winery in Carmel. We were told we had to try there dessert wine. We came in and it wasn’t on there tasting menu, but the girl and guy helping us out said they’d let us taste those as well. All the wines were great, but my two favorites and I think my boyfriends to were the dessert wine and the Late Harvest Riesling. We ended up actually getting a bottle of both which was great.

Very hospitable, friendly wine guide. Great wines to taste. I may even sign up for their wine club now!
