What a fun surprise! This restaurant does not at all feel like it is part of the Market District grocery. The menu varies somewhat as the chefs are creative and utilize special foods which may be available that particular day from the store. We dined in the bar and enjoyed the variety of drinks from which to choose. The cobb salad is great and a different twist from the normal cobb salad. One member of the group really enjoyed the meat loaf. There was even extra to bring home. We love shopping at Market District and will continue to enjoy dining at Table. There was a large group in the dining room but the servers seemed quite able to handle the large group and still take care of the other tables.

I have to give this place credit before I talk about how bad the food was. The first time we went they lost power and so we couldn’t even order. They gave us a $ 30 gift certificate for being nice people about it. Kudos to them! We had the meatloaf special. Just reading that sentence should tell you it’s not going to go well. Ew, it just wasn’t good. It was weird, the texture was yucky, it was obviously frozen and reheated or something strange. We had like 10 fries a piece. I would be reluctant to try going again. The prices are a little high and if our choices were any indication to the quality… I’m just not interested.

I’m not usually up this far north, but I happened to wander up to check out what everyone has been talking about with the new Market District and the Table. Who would have thought a restaurant attached to a grocery store could be so good! They have a pretty substantial menu that changes periodically plus a daily menu. I opted for a lobster bisque and a chopped salad. The lobster bisque was probably the best I have had in a long time. It had huge chunks of lobster meat and a little bit of spice to it. I really enjoyed my experience and will wander up again to try some more of their tasty goodness.

This review does NOT include my experience with their Sunday brunch. I really love this restaurant. The food is fresh and inventive. I don’t like fancy for sheer fact of being fancy, but they actually put together high end flavor combinations that work. If you are a traditionalist, they have a standard menu. If you are feeling adventurous, they have a chef’s menu that changes daily. Servers are very friendly and helpful. Try their knife and fork fries, which are large enough to share with your whole crew. Beware that if you have a child in need of a high chair, you may have to wait. The booths are on a platform too high to accommodate them, so you are limited to only the tables, which can mean a longer wait during busy times. Here’s my feedback for their Sunday brunch. If I was doing a review just for that, I probably would give two stars. For $ 25, I expected a lot more. What they had was delicious — an artichoke gratin, fresh veggies, cured meats and cheeses, and a lovely bagel bar. They also had a carving station with roast beef, and each diner could order a main dish. I had the french toast and bacon. It was fine, but I missed the breakfast staples — eggs, sausage, potatoes, MORE bacon. It just wasn’t a lot of variety for $ 25. I would suggest lowering the price or adding more items. Mimosas and Bloody Marys were $ 4, but only the first one. Additional ones were the normal price of $ 12. So braekfast with 2 drinks could run you $ 41 before tax and tip.

Today was my first experience of brunch buffet at table! While everything I tried was delicious, it was a pit pricey($ 22) and the bartender making my mimosa($ 4) wasn’t the friendliest. It’s definitely not your typical eggs, biscuits and gravy, pancakes kind of buffet. It is, however, all kinds of fresh fruit, various cheeses, brussels sprouts, potatoes, shrimp, ham, and so much more. In addition to the buffet you get the choice of house omelet, french toast, or eggs benedict. I went for the french toast and it was a 5 star coconut shavings, perfectly battered with a side of maple syrup and a side banana goodness to choose from. Unfortunately, upon going to the bar to get my mimosa… not a huge fan of getting my drink, but I rolled with it… the bartender started pouring my mimosa and when started to pour the OJ asked me to say when to stop. I’m no bartender and have no idea when to say stop… do I say right away and enjoy more of the alcohol or wait a while and enjoy more of the OJ?! Anyways, I said whatever if fine, hoping that the bartender has an idea to make a mimosa when people don’t have to leave their table to get it. Instead, I got some attitude and a «well it’s whatever ya want.» Not cool. Finally, use of the bathroom. Oh what a great momma friendly one it is and super clean!

Prompt and delicious! We were seated quickly, greeted by our server, brought glasses of water… our entire experience was really fast but not rushed. The place is much nicer than what you imagine a restaurant connected to a grocery store would be. Don’t show up in sweats or you’ll feel awkwardly out of place. The two of us ordered the angus beef fork n’ knife fries, meatloaf with potatoes and brioche, and brussel sprouts(all to share) and we needed a to go box. I would highly recommend all three dishes! Prices are between $ 12 and $ 24 per item so budget accordingly. I will definitely go back.

Now that I have a few visits to Table under my belt, I feel I need to downgrade it to 3 stars. It’s good, but not great. I ordered the fish tacos shareable appetizer as my dinner once, and it was just okay in my book. The veggie burger I ordered this trip wasn’t as «wow» amazing as I remember it the first time. I subbed out the fries for a side garden salad and it was very basic. I was underwhelmed. I’ve heard great things about the salmon dinner and the meatloaf dish from my dining companions, but for me, Table falls short.

IThe Sunday brunch buffet isn’t that great. For the price($ 25), there really isn’t that much selection. You very to order 1 hot item off a special menu(French toast, omelet, Eggs Benedict, quiche), and you have access to the buffet. However, the buffet has very few hot items. Prime rib and roast pork tenderloin are available at a carving station. There are some cooked vegetables too(broccoli, Brussel sprouts, artichoke hearts, etc.). But that’s it. No bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, biscuits, pancakes, waffles, soups. There is a nice charcuterie(mortadella, prosciutto, salami, etc.) and cheese(gouda, cheddar, brie, bleu) tray. And cocktail shrimp. There’s also smoked salmon and a nice pickled vegetable and peppers selection. Some nice desserts too. Your 1st Bloody Mary or mimosa is $ 4(what they call«complimentary»). After that, they’re $ 12 each. The food is all pretty good, but at that price, you should have a much larger selection(and probably a free mimosa too).

Great food for being a restaurant in a grocery store… although it is a pretty fancy grocery store. Everything we tried had great flavors. You can taste the freshness of the food, and is good quality too. The burgers were amazing. Service was a bit slow and the menu descriptions do not include all the main ingredients in the dish, so you may be surprised or get something you don’t like. –Rotisserie Cobb Salad: one of the best Cobb salads I’ve had. Tender chicken, fresh veggies, yummy bacon. Menu does not mention the bleu cheese crumbles. Says red onion, but I got caramelized onions. –Beef and Vegetable soup: tastes like homemade soup that took all day to make. Tender vegetables and super tender beef. –Angus Shortrib Fries: very good flavor. Menu doesn’t mention mushrooms, but there are more mushrooms than meat. Fries are greasy and soggy. –Turf & Turf Burger: extraordinary flavor combos. The pickles on this burger definitely made the burger better. Pickles are not mentioned on the menu. Vegetables that came with the burger were great, but they were both warm and cold in temperature which was very strange. Basil lemonade was delicious, and the Tastes Like Vacation drink was one of the best beverages I’ve had at a restaurant.

Brunch is fantastic! We’ve been twice and both times I was amazed at the amount of fresh foods and the variety of food they have to offer. The made to order Eggs Benedict are amazing. They also had omelets, french toast and the 2nd time they were making crepes and they were really good. Shrimp, lox, fruits, veggies, bacon, carved meats, caricature, fresh squeezed juices, and desserts. They moved the tables around a bit and added more seating the 2nd time we went. The new Senior rate is great when we take our parents. I do wish it was a few bucks cheaper. I do agree that the food was worth the $ 26 and both times we had a fantastic meal, but at that price it’s more of a special occasion place. Both times I didn’t even get to the dessert table.

I love new restaurants, but there are ALWAYS some kinks that need to be worked out. Table is working through them and luckily the food makes up {for now} in lack of service and booze. Table is located INSIDE of the new Market District grocery store which is… the most incredible grocery store I’ve ever been in to be honest {and I hate grocery stores}. It is family-friendly, on trend, well decorated and has an exposed kitchen. The bathrooms are SONICE. It’s a little odd how nice they are, but for any breastfeeding mamas, don’t be ashamed to head on in, b/c there is an INCREDIBLE comfortable seating area outside the stalls and it smells divine in there. Like lavender on the beach. Order the knife and fork fries of your choice. I’ve had the short rib and pork, and both are equally delish. SHARE them b/c…well, let’s just say they are over 2000 calories, I’m sure. Insanely good. The cheesy grits. Holy hell balls of awesome. I was soooo pleased, I am still dreaming of them. Why only 3 stars? They just don’t have their shit together. I wish they did but… there is just a lot of issues on the floor. While the kitchen is fast and has it together {like FRESHFOOD coming out faster than GLASSESOFWINE}, it’s an embarrassment that the bar + servers can’t get drinks out that they are simply POURINGINTO A GLASS. They don’t have their liquor license and for now, they should keep it that way until they can figure out the bar«situation». I wish them well finding a good mixologist b/c they’ll need it when people start ordering actual booze-based drinks considering filling a glass with wine and beer is proving to be a huge challenge. I wish them well b/c …it won’t be long before people will avoid the good food if they can’t get a drink.

Visiting Market District for the Batali book signing upstairs. Stopped in here for lunch to take advantage of the Mario Battali Caponata sub on the menu. EXCELLENT beers on tap. Loved the pairings featured on the menu. Service was efficient and friendly. Nice stop at table from the chef to give an overview of the local items featured. The ham corn chowder was delicious. Buttery texture, full of flavor, and crisp vegetables. Would highly recommend as a winter warm up. My friend raved about the luxurious bathroom. The setting is beautiful and rivals local hip, trendy spots. Can’t wait to get back for the brunch!

***This is a review for the Sunday brunch buffet only! My family and I made a reservation for the Sunday brunch buffet(reservations are recommended as the seating can be filled quick if FCFS). The brunch buffet is upstairs in the restaurant area. The adult price for the brunch buffet is $ 26 which is on the high side, but we enjoyed the variety of options. I honestly believe this is one of the best brunch buffets in the Indianapolis area. To start they have freshly squeezed orange juice and grapefruit juice. The brunch buffet has options varying from carved prime rib and porchetta to lox and bagels. They also have cured meats and cheeses. I really enjoyed the made to order eggs benedict and they also have an omelette bar. The desserts are also varied from the dessert offerings in the grocery. I would definitely come here again for a special occasion as it is a little over my regular budget, however the variety of options make it somewhat worth the value! Just make sure you come on an empty stomach!

A nice restaurant within a grocery store? Yes, that’s right! Market District isn’t your ordinary grocery store. Table isn’t your ordinary restaurant either. Everything is locally sourced. The kids menu is awesome. The drink selection is great. The menu has some familiar staples but I love their twist on French fries and pork tenderloin. The pizza selection is great and you can make a custom pizza. They offer brunch buffet on Sundays and the selection is great. The price is reasonable too.

This restaurant gets 2 stars because my friend’s meal(which should have been near identical to mine sans sauce) was«very good» However, I am getting ahead of myself. Making a reservation at this new restaurant located inside Market District was easy. When I showed up, a bit early, I was taken to a large booth. My friend showed up soon after and we both ordered wine. Served promptly. All was going well until after we placed our dinner orders. We both ordered salmon. I asked first if the dish is, or could be made, gluten free and dairy free. No problem, I was assured. The chef is «celiac» we were told. When our dinners were served by someone other than other server, mine was smothered in a sauce that clearly was not dairy free. When our server approached and asked about our dinners, I mentioned my request of dairy free. She quickly took my plate away and assured me that a new plate would be up shortly. It was not. It took quite awhile. When the new plate came, the salmon was 50% raw. Again it went back. However, my friend loved her salmon smothered in sauce and had only good things to say. I was so hungry when I finally got my new plate. We had had no appetizers, but found that after waiting an hour plus for my food, I had lost my appetite. By the way, never once did a manager come to speak with me/us. There was some man checking on other tables/service, he just never came to our table. Disappointing all around.

I was not expecting such a high end restaurant connected to a grocery store. The décor is modern. They have little electric firepits outside and an open kitchen concept. I had the vegi burger and opted for roasted veggies instead of fries. The roasted veggies were delicious.(Though it wasn’t a generous portion.) They had a variety of fun little squash. I would ask for extra tzatziki next time on the burger. Not very much come on it. My husband’s bison burger was a winner! I think I could dip and spread the bacon onion marmalade over anything. It was delicious. The server told us the chef literally walks the floor of the grocery store to determine what the special is. I thought it was pretty cool, but didn’t want to spend the $ 25+ on the entrée for a normal dinner on a weeknight.

Had we not needed a few grocery items we would not have chosen Table At Market District. Surprisingly good! I made reservations on Open Table while driving to the Grocery Store. It was good but not great. We were super happy we ordered an appetizer becuse our food did take some time to get. We ordered the Cheese and Charcuterie plate. We were very pleased with the mix of cheeses. Bison Burger surprisingly juicy. CBLT bacon not crispy other then that it was also good. Fresh cut fries were good but had we not ordered them crispy they may not have been as good. We did not order dessert but we did buy doughnuts in the grocery. It won’t be on our list of must do again but it is on the list of would do again.

Brunch was simply amazing. This is unlike any brunch I’ve ever been to and for sure the best in the city that I have been to. They host the buffet upstairs. They have a Mimosa bar for $ 12 extra, but they have freshly squeezed orange juice, grapefruit juice, hot cider, and coffee and also tea bags. I was happy with OJ, but totally forgot to get some cider. Our waiter also brought us all water and he mentioned soda, but I am not sure if that was extra or not. My friend and I started at the fruit/veggie/salad station. It was all seasonally fresh and seriously just beautiful. The tri-colored cauliflower was so fun and roasted is the only way to eat cauliflower in my book. Then I had roasted Brussels sprouts, which are best served roasted and these were wonderful with the walnuts. They also had grilled pineapple, grilled watermelon, grilled pear, grilled apples, roasted mushrooms, roasted sweet potato and roasted butternut squash with pecans. I was in heaven. I meant to go back to this table and never made it and now all I can think about is having more grilled pineapple. My husband kept my OJ full so I forgot to go back, plus there is more and only so much you can eat. I also loved the charcuterie, cheese, and jam table. So much yummy cheese and some fabulous stuffed olives. I love the fig jam. I really need to pick some up at the store. I also loved the shrimp and smoked salmon. You could get also have lox and cream cheese with bagels, but I loved the smoked salmon the best. They also had regular breakfast foods like made to order eggs Benedict and omelets. A yogurt and cereal bar that also included oatmeal and grits with all the fixings. I thought it was really cool that all the toppings for the yogurt, oatmeal, and the grits were out so you could make your own. I opted for the French Toast and it was amazing. It was soft and light and fluffy and with the honey butter and your choice of syrups. UM, seriously the best I’ve ever had. I opted for the Market District apple butter, but they also had cream and other syrup choices. The bacon was also amazing. Not greasy at all and hardly any fat. It was quality bacon. And they even had blueberry sausage they make in house. By this point we were all getting full so we split a large piece of quiche and savory bread pudding. The quiche was silky and smooth and the bread pudding was to die for. It was like a fancy stuffing that wasn’t at all dense or dry. I wish I could have eaten more. I need this recipe for sure. The lunch options were turkey breast which was really moist and delicious and a pork that was smoked I think. They also had some a pasta dish that looked good. Then a huge pastry dessert table which was filled with scones, and other breakfast pastries and so many perfect little desserts. I had a small piece of the lemon dessert and it was really good. I wanted to try a few other’s but was too full. I feel like they had something for everyone and I can’t wait to go back. It will be interesting to see how the buffet options change with the seasons.

A true foodie paradise. The menu is versatile and tasty, with unique specials daily. The kids menu takes classics and puts a foodie twist. Plus, they serve the kids meal on what looks like old school lunch trays. My kids loved their dinners. And I enjoyed a grown-up dinner that appealed to my palate. The wine and beer list had a great selection as well. I really enjoyed our dinner and look forward to future specials and other unique offerings that the very talented chefs dream up next.
