COMP-U-TITION

This turned out to be a huge ripoff and waste of my time. Jeffrey Bilger aka Computition has very limited skills and was all about running up his time @ a ridiculous $ 80/​hr and charging additional for freeware and licencing services.
I am retired on a limited income and can’t afford this theft.
Most of his time was sitting waiting or texting. Didn’t have his own laptop for researching problems, etc.
He charged several hours but was not able to fix any of the problems I requested, including;
Outlook slow start-​up and emails stuck in outbox.
Malfunctioning wifi adapter on my laptop,
Unwanted pop-​ups on computer start-​up,
Wifi surveillance camera issue,
A proper tune-​up and more efficient, faster start-​up.
All he did was defrag my drives and run a shareware malware removal program which he charged me an additional $ 180 plus $ 80 licensing fee (for both computers) before he would remove the «PUP» threats. He used «scare» tactics of likely massive computer failure to make the sale. He then rushed to my bank and cashed my check. Feeling something was not right, I found the same program (malewarebytes removal) online for a total cost of $ 25 annual licensing fee for both computers. If fact he acknowledged it was already installed on my laptop. When confronted, he removed his program and promised to reimburse via Paypal, which he gave me his account email and I sent a money request for reimbursement. He has refused to honor his word or do the right thing and won’t refund a penny, referring to his «no refund policy», which was not expressed to me either verbally or in writing during our time together.
This young fellow has no scruples, is really not interested in satisfying the customer, and has very limited positive and helpful skills.
I tried to work something out with this guy because he claims to be financially strapped, but he stubbornly refuses any adjustment.
Not only would I not recommend Jeffrey Bilger, aka Computition, but I feel compelled to warn others to beware of this predator.

I’ve previously used Jeff’s services for hardware problems. This time he came by for our quarterly checkup and I had software problems and a new computer. Jeff is a wizard, patient and kind. These kind of problems usually make me completely lose my cool, but with Jeff I can just sit back and let him work his magic. Thank you, computer man!

Jeff tried. And he tried again. But my simple upgrade from Vista to windows 7 turned out to be a disaster for both of us. He suggested I eliminate my old XP machine that was running some Frontpage websites and run them under compatibility mode in the new Windows 7 machine. But unfortunately, that didn’t work and he was unable to get my old computer working again. He even replaced the system unit and I am still without access to my websites. The 48 hours he quoted me ended up being over 5 days. I wish I never upgraded and could have my old system back. I wish I had access to my websites. I wish he would return my emails…
Update 8÷17÷13 Another try and no luck. The «FREE» computer will turn on but there is no way to access it (mouse and keyboard don’t work no matter which ports I try) and the back-​up on my new system doesn’t include the website files. (incomplete) The job isn’t done if the client doesn’t have an operational computer. After spending $ 500, Jeff left me no choice but to find another repairperson to assist me and to seek restitution in small claims court. After contacting another repair center, I was told he should have completely re-​installed the XP O/​S o the old machine or else it would not recognize the hardware — which was exactly my problem! The other center was able to identify the issue over the phone!

Jeff was able to come out the same day. He cleaned up my laptop and install a antivirus software and made sure everything was running well. He also did the same with my desktop. Great service. Would highly recommend him.

Jeff came out an hour after I called!
I had malicious software on one of my laptops. He cleaned that machine and installed a malware protection software.
I had him back up to my external hard drive.
He got my wireless printer to work with all 4 computers.
He also tuned up 3 of the computers cleaning up the Windows registery errors.
I was very happy with the service!
I will call him again!!!

My 4-​year old work-​at-​home computer was extremely pokey and none of my usual fixes worked. I needed a mobile technician to get it promptly repaired. I found Jeffrey on Craigslist. He arrived on time and had a very professional appearance/​demeanor. Within minutes he did a complete analysis of my PC and diagnosed the problems. He carefully presented several options and helped me decide which solution worked best for me. Now my computer behaves as if it were BRAND NEW! I intend to call Jeffrey again if I need an expert technician again.

Jeffrey was there when I needed him. Very thorough and is the type of tech who will make sure your computer is right before he leaves. He delivers what he says and I could not be happier with the results. I would recommend Jeff for your next tune up or repair!

Jeffrey did a great job helping me fix up my computer. I was at my wits end trying to figure out what I was going to do with my windows booting up so slowly, so I started looking for help. This guy is local to the greater Sacramento area and came by and showed me what was wrong and fixed it and set me up with knowledge and the capability to keep it from happening again. I’ll definitely use his services again if I ever need a computer techie again!
