Very cool little place with a nice staff. My Wife and I stopped in here on the way back from picking up firewood. The inside of this place is far more impressive than the outside. Good food and good people, give the place a try.

Found this place on accident(thank god). We decided to take a drive out to see the falls in Snoqulmie and not wanting to spend $ 200 on lunch we drive on down the rode looking for a good place to stop and grab a burger when we saw Pete’s. Sat down ordered a beer and as we where trying to decide what to eat, as there where so many great things on the menu the bartender went by with one of the best looking club sandwiches I have ever seen. Our mouths dropped and we new we had hit the jackpot, I ordered the Ruben with fries, husband hamburger and onion rings and not just any burger this thing had thick cut bacon a fried egg and was huge! The Ruben loaded with tender corn beef and loads of fries on the side . Needless to say I took half home was to big to eat the whole thing. They also serve breakfast and have a wide range of beers and a full bar! Will definitely be talking more rode trips to Carnation, and soon!

Been to this cool little bar a couple times. The food is always tasty bar food. The bartenders are always quick and friendly, and their beer selection is really well put together. First time I went I had the cobb salad with mac and cheese bites for starters. This delicious food is what made me go back a second time. The second time i went i got their burger dip which was on a hogue roll with strips of white onion and au ju to dip in. Needless to say my taste buds went wild They also have a really large open patio, which is great to sit out on during the summer.

Cool local bar with TVs and a pool table. They could use more craft beer on tap(maybe a stout or a porter) and the taco salad I had could’ve used some beans and rice. The staff is great though. I’d come back. Next time I’ll try the veggie burger.

This is the best grill and pub in Carnation. I come here often to enjoy the outdoor seating with large groups of friends. The staff are extremely nice. The price of food and drinks are just right. My new thing now is coming here for breakfast in addition to partying at night. Motorcycle parking out front is a plus.

Decided to venture to this great small town bar after reading some of the reviews. It was a quiet Saturday lunch when we entered but we were quickly greeted by the bar staff and told to take any seat. Menus quickly arrived along with a request for our drink orders. We found the entire service experience to be casual, friendly, and attentive. We decided to skip the breakfast fare(as we given the option despite the 1pm time), and ordered a French dip(with onion rings for $ 1.75 extra), the Philly Cheese steak(with the cheese tots for $ 1.75 extra) and a kids tenders/fries. All food arrived in a reasonable time and at once. The Dip was simply served without cheese(per the menu) and the au jus was full of beef flavor without being overly salty. The onion rings were crispy and plentiful. The hoagie roll was tender and warm, not tough. The cheese steak was also very good and served with Swiss cheese(and green peppers/onions). There was a nice helping of beef and the veggies were crisp tender. The cheesy tots were a hit, but we had to take most of the portion home as they are filling. The staff was preparing for a local Memorial service scheduled for later that day, but were attentive and polite. Overall, some decent fare and a friendly environment. Definitely a «locals» spot, but our experience made us feel at home! We will be back!

And a Saturday morning tradition — Pete’s is everything you want in a small town bar but with a killer diner style breakfast! I keep it simple with The Usual but found the real treat of ordering their fruit cup. Not your standard honey dew mess but a cup busting full of fresh berries! The rest of the crew is consistent with their steak and eggs which I’ve been happy to nibble on. YES they are kid friendly during the day with coloring menus to prove it! The pancakes are also buzzworthy with their unique oatmeal base. I’ve always joined their outdoor patio for lunch and a beer where the fries do not disappoint. There is ample room here for a group and it looks like the evenings can get a little lively. If you’re looking to nab a bite before or after a hike I strongly recommend this no fuss spot.

After visiting the nearby Tolt McDonald Park for some mountain biking, my boyfriend and I ventured into Carnation. We saw Pete’s Grill had a patio with some live music playing so we decided to give it a try. The patio is pretty big, the live music was a nice touch, and the drinks were cheap. Those were the positives. The negative was that our order was lost. Nobody told us the food was going to be delayed but we saw people come in after us get served. Our waitress just kept saying it would be a few minutes. After 35 minutes, we finally received our food. I ordered the Chicken sandwich with avocado and bacon. The bacon was inedible — completely black. No wonder it took 35 minutes. The food was mediocre. I don’t know if I’d come back. If I did, it’d probably be just to grab a drink or two.

Pete’s is my consistent favorite in the Valley. Most of my visits are in the morning or afternoon, so when I say it’s a relaxed, friendly place, factor in that I’m not sure how it is in the evenings. But for breakfast or lunch, we find it to be consistently welcoming, with warm, familiar service that is prompt and accurate. I’ve tried a number of things for both breakfast and lunch, and never been disappointed. For breakfast, I particularly like the biscuits and gravy(and a bloody mary or two). For lunch, just about anything on the menu will please, and the cheesy tots are great. I wouldn’t mind if they had a few more taps, but there’s always something good to drink. Consistent quality isn’t so easy to find in the Valley, and Pete’s has it.

When you don’t have much to choose from in this town, I guess everything looks 4 or 5 stars to some people. This isn’t anything to write home about, but at least the food was palatable. I think the majority of my complaint goes towards the service. When we first arrived it wasn’t too busy. The bar tender was also acting as the waitress for all the food ordering customers. When it isn’t busy, I can see that strategy being ok. But shortly after we arrived, it started filling up and the bar tender started falling behind and no one seemed to help her out. I just have a couple of annoying things to mention. We ordered mozzarella sticks. There were no plates or utensils on the table when the appetizer arrived. I asked for plates and napkins since the sticks are pretty much finger food and piping hot. The waitress brought us 4 napkins, and three small roll size plates. Hmm… Last time I counted at the table there are 5 people here. So two people had to share a plate and I didn’t get a napkin. So I asked for some more napkins and got 3 more. Strike 1 Then, we placed our order. I ordered a burger and fries and a cup of chili. I asked the waitress to please bring the chili out before the main meal. Well you can probably guess what ended up happening before I even say it… Everything came out at the same time. No chili before the burger like I asked… Strike 2. Finally to top it off, when we paid the bill, my wife paid with cash and gave the exact amount of change from her coin purse. We were supposed to get $ 11 back in paper money. Instead, I received two five dollar bills and about 85 cents as my change. So that was strike 3. There were some other annoying things too related to refilling our pops… I asked for a refill on my coke, and she took my cup away and brought it back to me just a little over ½ full. I thought that was weird. Food was decent. Can’t really screw up a burger too badly. I didn’t care for the chili. It was dry, and pretty much just all beans. There was very little sauce. My kids got the cheesy tots. Those were yummy. All in all, it wasn’t too bad if you don’t mind taking it slow. The service was pretty slow leaving me to be constantly looking for someone to help get something we needed at the table. From drink refills, to plates, to napkins, to some mayonaise, to some utensils. I had to do a lot of asking for things to get what we needed. I think the waitress was getting a little annoyed by us asking for things, but if she were on it to begin with, I wouldn’t have had to ask for these basics things. I think this deserves 2 stars due to a below average experience. Not the worst but certainly not average either.

If you find yourself in Carnation for any reason, this place is worth checking out. Don’t be intimidated by the dive factor. It is a dive, but its a good dive and they have tons of outdoor seating! The Eggs Benedict was one of the best versions I have ever had. Thick fried ham and flavorful Hollandaise sauce made my taste buds happy! Pros Outdoor seating $ 4 tall cans of PBR and Rainier Pool tables Solid Breakfast

Easter 2013 at Petes. My wife and I shared a sampler and a bacon cheese burger. Sample is all fried but very nicely fried. Mini corn dogs, potatoe frys, onion rings, fried cheese and chicken strips. Everything was very good. Clean hot grease was jused and well drained; no greasy fingers to be found and all were nice and hot. The bacon burger was also excellent with two hught 1.5 in wide thich sliced bacon cooked just right as the the beef patty with fresh onion, lettuce, tomatoe. Just a really good burger. Price seem typical for these days. Service was a bit spotty but the delivered food was hot. Menu was extensive so we are going back to try the chicken fried steak. Seperate bar area and game room from dining. CCW in dinging OK.

We usually come to Pete’s for breakfast on Sunday mornings. They have terrific breakfast plates at very reasonable prices, and their homemade bloody marys are great! They also have kid’s items(like the Little Pete) that offer choices and are appropriately-portioned for our five-year old son. For lunch they have a great burger selection, as well as several entrees. Their beer selection is very impressive, and with their full bar, any drink can be enjoyed. Locals definitely call this place home, so you’re sure to find some friendly country patrons on most days. Natasha often is serving when we visit, so if you’re fortunate enough to visit, treat her well!

This is our favorite place to eat. The food is always great and well portioned yet the prices are very low. We have actually checked our bill because we thought they made a mistake and undercharged us! Though it can be rowdy, this is due to a very well behaved diverse crowd. At any given time, you can find families with young children, sports enthusiasts, bikers, rockers, country folk or seniors. It seems all are welcome. Breakfast is offered on weekends. Pros: Low prices, great food, full bar, welcoming atmosphere, indoor and outdoor seating, ample parking on street or on adjacent street’s parking area, at least 3 televisions and well posted specials. Cons: Sometimes the service, though friendly, can be slow. It depends on when you go and how busy it is, but that can pretty much be said about anywhere. If I was in a real hurry, I would not go to Pete’s. Also they do not have a great dessert menu. Additional Info: There’s a game area in the back with several pool tables. Live music is offered several times a week and the venue varies. There are nightly regular dinner specials; if you like Fish and Chips, head there on a Friday night. All in all, our favorite. Nine times out of ten, Pete’s is where we head when we want a bite to eat.

We stopped in here for a late lunch last Tuesday and were greeted with a smile and a vibrant How do you Do! The food is great. I had a burger with bacon, ham and egg on it and my wife had the roast beef melt. The drinks were good and the food was hot. I loved the fact that the bar tender knew all the people who walked in. I would suggest this place to everyone and try the salads. I saw there were a few of them and on a recommendation from a friend who said they were amazing. I am really into history and places with a lot of it. This place definitely has a lot of history. They have pictures of people that were descendants of the first settlers in Carnation. A cool place with a really cool bar back and old time wood floors. Check it out and you won’t be disappointed.

I stuck out like a sore thumb being the only Asian girl(and with pink/black piggy braids) who rode in on a Moto Guzzi V7 Classic in a Harley’s biker bar in smallville USA. The service was swift and the food was actually more delicious than expected. I had the Reuben French Dip w/fries and my BF, who rode in on a Triumph Speed Triple, ordered a tasty burger w/fries. The place had been around for 100+ years! Crazy! No one got beat up cuz they weren’t a Harley’s fan, which was good cuz I was readying my inner Kung Fu if an episode like a brawl should break out somehow. Definitely a great place to stop to rest and grab bite to eat!

I was here NYE2010. That’s right, I was in Carnation, WA on NYE. I won’t share with you the long drawn out story as to how that came to be, just know that it was completely surprising to me as well. A great joke could easily begin with, «Emerson walks into a bar in Carnation on NYE with 3 females and…» But in all honesty, Petes’s wasn’t half bad. I didn’t have the food, but they’ve got 1 hell of a bar. The crowd was diverse, you had old, and older, farmers and ranchers, etc. The people were friendly, but you could easily tell the shock on their face. Guess I’m too handsome for Carnation. Yea, I’m sure that’s why ;-) In all seriousness, the bar is great and there are normal drink specials that I saw posted on the wall. The locals support this place in full force, and the owner seemed like a nice enough dude. There’s a big dance floor that plays both country AND western. Diverse indeed. Plus some hip hop. Yes, Coolio and Nelly from the mid nineties count as hip hop. I suppose if I were to take my cougar hunt a lil more seriously, I’d start here. Not a bad place if you’re already in town, but not memorable enough to make the special trip up to see.
